Clean, friendly staff. It was nice to be close to the lake and be able to go swimming on warm days.
Lots and lots of noise being so close to the ferry. The trucks made a racked going down and up the hill. And the other vehicles also.
We could not open the windows in our unit. And the a/c did not function well. (Noisy and very little cold air). There was a kitchenette, but no table to eat inside. When eating outside, we were in the passage to go to the other units.

My stay at Maison Gauthier was very good! The service was kind. The room was very comfortable and clean, too good!!! The location is good, close to the lake and a hill where you can go for a trail, but close to the highway where cars pass from time to time to go to the ferry. Highly recommend!!!

Lovely hosts, very helpful, Tadoussac a small town so it’s close to everything, 15 min walk from the harbour, but a two minute walk from a small beach on a secluded lake for a nice swim.

For a "Bed & Breakfast", the breakfast (a few items in a bag in the fridge) was a complete disappointment, pathetic in fact. Powdered coffee whitener -really???

Everything was very good, except the air condition, it doesn't work

within walking distance of the village
paint peeling, sheets not pleasant, coffee not drinkable

The rooms are beautiful but lack air conditioning
I wouldn't really call it breakfast, you get half a croissant, an apple yogurt and a cheese snack in a bag

Room was big and clean.
The location is a bit cumbersome because of the ferry traffic. Bathroom very basic and tight.

One thing that I liked was close to a lake.
The facility was outdated
Was not clean, ants on the floor
Bathroom, specially the shower was quite small
The area was noisy

Tadoussac is a lovely locale so it's difficult to be displeased with anything associated with it. This particular B&B happens to be situated right smack dab after the ferry exit on the busy route in and out of the village. It is travelled day and night by a constant stream of traffic, including cars, motorcycles and 18-wheelers. If that doesn't put you off, you'll be okay.
We were put up in the main part of the house so I will limit my comments to that. (The B&B is comprised of part of the house, also occupied by the proprietor's family and an annex which extends to the rear of the property.) The original house is not without its charms but is in need of some repair and a bit ramshackle. The wrap-around porch leans quite a bit so that you feel a bit seasick while walking on it. Our room was spacious but the bathroom was quite narrow and equipped with only a tiny shower. The decor was dollar store chic in an assortment of colors, three shades of blue, bubble gum pink, pumpkin, all complimented by lots of wicker accessories, Half of the windows in our room were nailed shut, which we did not understand as we arrived on a very warm night and there was no AC. We made do with the two overhead ceiling fans. The bed was comfortable.
I'll deal with the minor stuff first: There is no robe. They tell you there is a robe and there isn't one. They don't replenish your coffee unless you ask. Same for facecloths and towels. Also, bring soap and shampoo, conditioner, etc because all they have is some clear non-descript liquid in a dispenser in the tiny shower and you may or may not want to risk that.
Most of the staff were friendly and gracious. The landlady, (Mme. Gauthier, I presume?) was not. This sour-faced woman, who checked us in the day we arrived, is - I am not going to sugar coat it, in the wrong business. She does not like people. She especially doesn't like Anglophones. The second she established my French was not up to par, she turned from me as though she couldn't stand the sight of me and addressed only my husband, whose French is very good. We did not encounter that attitude with any of the other staff. Mme. G's son, a young man who seems to work as often or more than his mother, was polite and kindly answered all my questions in English with no problem.
The other issue we had a problem with at Gauthier B&B was the fact that it used Covid-19 as an excuse to dispense with breakfast. Instead of serving a hot breakfast, they would hand guests a paper sack on their return from the day's outing for their breakfast of the following day. In our travels across Quebec which included stays in Montreal, Quebec City and the Saguenay Region this same trip during which we stayed in several hotels and B&Bs, this was the only one that did not serve a hot breakfast. All of the others managed to do so while maintaining social distancing and all other safety precautions. We concluded that this landlady, Mme. Gauthier, is lazy. She would rather throw junk food (a granola bar, an apple, a store bought muffin and juice box) into a paper bag, call it "breakfast" and sleep late. After all, she doesn't like people.
