Great staff and location but needs updating

The location in the UWS was great, especially as a family with a young child. The neighborhood was quiet but with plenty to explore, and a short walk to Central Park. The staff was very helpful and accommodating with issues we had.

The property is older and could use updates, especially for the price level. The room was dusty, with full carpet and heavy drapes and the air conditioner gave off a musty smell. I have severe allergies and asthma, and ultimately had to relocate to a different hotel.

Great NY hotel and neighborhood! I will return.

Nicely renovated older building with a next door restaurant. Room was quiet and spacious (unlike many older NY hotels), very comfy bed, nice amenities. Reminded me of a nice, elegant NY apartment! Small business center that had 3 computers and a printer. Staff were very attentive, helpful and consistent. The hotel had a professional vibe and I felt comfortable and safe there as a solo female traveler. The neighborhood has loads of restaurants, shops, services to round out a delightful NY stay.

Small lobby, so not much place to hang out when not in the room. But that made me go out to the street and enjoy the neighborhood!

A treasure in itself

I loved everything about Hotel Lucerne. The location is amazing. There are convenient stores just across the streets. The hotel is so retro but so well maintained. Best of all it had a gym! We also had to request a fridge and it was free of charge.

The lifts were a little slow at peak hour but that's to be expected. The beds were a little bit soft too but got used to it quickly.

Geweldige locatie, veilig voelende buurt, dichtbij metro’s en Central Park en super schoon en netjes

Locatie was top, bovendien erg schoon en personeel zeer vriendelijk!

Koelkastje op kamer was wellicht fijn geweest. Douchemuts scheurde kapot, een nieuwe was fijn geweest ( hebben overigens geen nieuwe gevraagd, maar gewoon een plastic zak gebruikt, maar was extra lief geweest als ze toch een nieuwe klaargelegd hadden ).

Had a great wknd!

We love staying at the Lucerne and Nice Matin is exceptional.

Your charges for this Hotel are way overpriced. I could have stayed for 1/2 the price had I booked directly.

Hotel muy recomendable

El hotel tiene una ubicación inmejorable: a un minuto andando de una estación de metro y a cinco de otra, lo que te permite estar en Times Square en 10 minutos El personal es muy atento y amable. Tuvimos un problema con la ducha y al momento nos lo solucionaron Si vuelvo a NY sin duda volveré a este hotel

I would not go back to this hotel

I left after my 1st night stay , the parking was not accommodating. I didn’t mind the fee but the affiliate IPark location was not helpful at all. They sent me away. The doorman of the hotel was kind enough to give me his parking spot in the street. He was Asian.

Brilliant loved it and would definitely stay again

Staff location and cafe next door (Nice Matin) was amazing and there’s a fab deli across the block too - Amsterdam deli. Great place but quite a long walk or taxi from touristy areas if that’s what you are after

Overall a very disappointing stay.

My room was not ready despite arriving at 9pm. The doormen were not at all helpful and there was a constant banging noise in the room. Overall a very disappointing stay.

We will definitely stay there again.

Excellent, friendly staff. Great location for UWS. Good bus and subway service nearby. Many nice pubs and restaurants nearby as well. Nice Matin restaurant adjoining was lovely.

A really convenient hotel at reasonable prices

7 nights of bad experience, I don't recommend it

The location is very good, away from the noise of Times Square, a quiet street and close to the Natural History Museum, to good restaurants and the subway station. But it's very expensive for what they offer, regular bed and not so good bathroom.

The staff at reception are just regular, they're not cooperative at all. The worst thing was the wifi which didn't work, the connection dropped every 2 minutes and reception didn't take any steps to fix it. At checkout I asked for a taxi to the airport, was offered transportation from the hotel itself, more expensive than a taxi and the driver dropped me off at the wrong terminal at JFK, even though she knew the company I was traveling with. This caused me a lot of inconvenience, tension and time to get to the correct terminal, on my own. The hotel driver should have been more professional and used to airport terminals, especially at an airport as large as JFK.

The television sets are confusing. It might be helpful to have a card of some sort left in the room near the TV explaining how to activate the TV set.

Everything, check in and check out were seamless. We enjoyed the cable TV, just being able to relax and come and go when we pleased. The lucerne is so close to everything it's a perfect location.

Pleasant UWS hotel, surrounded by a variety of cafes and restaurants; easy walk to local attractions

UWS location; Entrance foyer neat and area to sit comfortably if waiting for taxi/friends etc. Room well appointed, on the small side, clean and well maintained (Queen - disabled). Nice Martin restaurant - good service, variety on the menu. Easy walk to the Museum of Natural History and Central Park; on M7 bus route and crosstown M79 and a block from the subway.

Great position near Central Park. Very helpful staff. I booked a twin room for my son and I, but ended up with a double. They were happy to move us to a better room the next day at no extra cost.
