It was ok for the price I paid for.
The location was close to some of places I wanted to visit.

For thrifty travelers who like long bus rides
This is a college dorm. It is not a hotel. It is quite spartan. As such, it has everything you need, but may not have everything you want. On the plus side it is clean, comfortable, and at a great price compared to other Toronto area accommodations. I had a bathroom to myself with an extra sink in the bedroom. Chances are you will too as there are many empty rooms available. It is also very close to a wide variety of restaurants. It does not have television, air conditioning, fridge or iron in the room, or daily maid service. If you want these, be prepared to spend much more somewhere else. But overall, I was quite comfortable there. It was just the long commute to Toronto that was a downer for me. If you have business in Kitchener, that wouldn't be an issue for you.
I used it as a base to commute to Toronto for a few days because hotels and guest houses in Toronto cost two to three times as much. Unfortunately, it was about a 3-hour commute in each direction by bus and after several days, that got tiresome. It's possible to do it, and fairly cheap if you are there on a weekend and get the weekend bus pass.. If you decide to do that, the bus stop is next to the university, 5 minutes from the dorm. Nightlife in Toronto might be limited because of the bus schedule.

Pleasant
A decent affordable option in a region that lacks them. It's quiet, it's secure, the parking is free, the college kids on the staff are pleasant. If you just need a room for a few days and don't want to bankrupt yourself, it will do fine.
It's obviously a budget place: the rooms are small, the pillows are thin, the decorations are non-existent, the cleaning isn't perfect (dusty floors, stray hairs around). My biggest issue was with the wifi. In theory each guest is supposed to be emailed their own temporary set of Eduroam credentials - but the promised emails never arrive, credentials reset unexpectedly and have to be replaced at the front desk, and at one point the whole thing went down for most of the day. They should ditch this needlessly convoluted system. The wifi was fast on the rare occasions I had it working, though.
