I booked on Thursday for a stay Thursday night. As a solo female traveller, I was checked into a room on the ground floor in a corner next to a dark hallway. Both beds had dirty sheets, and there was no swing bar/chain on the door.
I was in the room for all of ten minutes before I went to the front desk; he told me there were no other rooms I could move to, and that none of the doors have chains or bars, but I was welcome to use the deadbolt, to which he and all other hotel staff had a key. I asked for my money back because I had to find another place to stay, he said if I went through booking.com he would give them their money back so they could give me my money back. Then he lied to the booking.com agent on the phone, saying he had offered to accommodate me and refused to refund.
Also, there is no point in booking.com's "rewards" program; my "priority support" got me almost an hour on the phone and a whopping $13 in compensation. And the supervisor was "unavailable," which I am seeing is common. Don't use third party, you have zero protection. Although I doubt Econo Lodge would've refunded me if I'd booked through them directly.

This is a beautiful hotel! It’s clean and has a lot of comfort items to make you feel at home. We’re in town for a stressful event and coming back to this room was very peaceful.
