Well stocked, clean, beautiful location. Just bring your clothes and food.
Small parking space. This is the most I've ever paid for one nights accommodation.

Wonderful location
Check was a bit confusing but we were able to work through it

Furnishings a bit dated., uninspired. Functional but not very aesthetic.

Great view and cozy bed!
The power went out for quite a while one night and we could have used a lantern or a larger flashlight, as well as some more substantial candles.

Stunning location, beautifully appointed cottage. We loved everything but the arrival experience.
Retrieving the door code requires access to wifi, because there is no cell service. There were wifi details taped to the door, but they were wrong. There is no reception/welcome facility of any kind, so we ended up having to knock on neighbour's doors until we found someone who was in and able to let us use their wifi.

the owner/manager did not let me know how to access the unit. I left an email request, another through booking.com and another by a phone messages (thanks to the local pub for letting us use their phone) trying to get instructions and got no response. We spent about 30 minutes looking under rocks and around the property for a clue on how to enter. It was sheer luck that one of us guessed the door code. Once we got in it was good. Bad that over 3 days the owner did not respond to any massages. Based on that alone I would not book here again.

Easy check in, Clare was great to deal with as we were experiencing an unusual weather event for the west coast.
A couple of things were broken, like the bathroom fan, and the latch for the top of the electric kettle, but there was a stovetop kettle available for use also.

Quaint little community of cabin-like houses that are a mix of rentals and vacation homes. The property was mostly clean on arrival (garbage had been left behind confusing us on who was supposed to dispose of this-it’s the cleaning crew btw) and just big enough for 2 of us (I would think anymore than that and it would be a tight squeeze, and we’d been camping in our van for a week beforehand). Good Wi-Fi. We had a >12hr power outage (weird in the fall!) and found the portable cooking stove, grill and propane outdoor fire pit very helpful but only had one flashlight between the 2 of us (again, we had been camping so actually had all of the things we’d need but this would have been frustrating for someone without the extra gear). The host was easy to contact and very customer friendly regarding the power outage and garbage left behind (all of which we had to do after we left due to no cell service or working Wi-Fi while we were there).
The house’s kitchen wasn’t stocked well for guests (only salt for basic cooking) and no candles for when the power went out (both of these the owner said she would be fixing). The house instructions were on sentence each (I appreciate the efficiency!) but a little confusing. We found the viewing platform in the neighborhood but only by accident! It’s in the SW corner and you feel like you’re walking into someone’s property!

The layout outside offered privacy and the kitchen was equipped well enough that we had no trouble making a thanksgiving feast.
Access to the water via stairs was promised but we couldn't find them anywhere!

the bed is uncomfortable, shady and dark inside cabin, dishwasher would be helpful, no grocery store nearby. only a general store with limited items

Very cute and cozy cabin with all the amenities we needed for our stay. Extras like the rain jackets and umbrellas were nice touches. Would have liked to have a fire outside but it was too rainy. Cabin was very clean overall.
Good instructions and quick responses from owner.
The hot water in kitchen was very limited, not hot enough to wash dishes properly.
Tea Towels in kitchen cupboards were dirty.

Had everything that we needed. Loved the patio propane fire pit.
Pillows were flat and bedding scratchy. No fitted sheet just 2 top sheets that moved. Door key lock beeped all night. Had to remove batteries.

We loved our stay at the chalet. The communication from our host was excellent. The property was very comfortable also. The best part was the quiet location and the view from the deck.
I wished I had booked one more day.

The cabin has an absolutely gorgeous ocean view. There are nice touches everywhere. We really enjoyed the propane fire pit on the deck after dark. Interesting art and a well stocked library really made the place feel homey. The bed was very comfortable.

Super clean and well appointed cabin. Pretty much anything you need is there. Decent quality furniture. Lots of firewood available for the fire pit out front (not that we needed it during this heat wave). Great DVD collection of classic movies. Opaque wooden blinds on all the windows to keep the cabin cool in "normal" summer weather. (However it was not normal during our stay!) All the windows have screen mesh to keep the bugs out. Walking distance to restaurant and pub. The host promptly answered a question I had using the messaging system.
This is in no way the fault of the owner but the cabin did get uncomfortably warm during the hottest two days in history. The cabin is situated on the side of the driveway that gets the most sun exposure. If 40°C+ temperatures in summer are going to be our "new normal" an air conditioner may need to be installed.

Beautiful property and location. Fully equipped with everything you need and more. Store nearby with most of the essentials.
Highway 14 was closed for construction for 1 day and completely limited our ability to explore around the area. Just something to be aware of when traveling to a more remote location. The other road (through Cowichan lake) would have tripled the time it would take to get to the places we were looking forward to exploring.

Excellent cabin, super close walking distance to everything. Was nice to have firewood there and BBQ was nice to have also, has everything you need. Easy instructions and communication. Very good stay!

Liked the outdoor fire.
Parking was unclear and neighbour said we parked in wrong place. TV had no signal.

Lovely place and Host, Clare emailed ahead with the check in nformation. The cottage has everything you need just bring bring your own food or drinks if you cook. We had a welcome note, mentioned about the small water tank and one night had the experience of running out of hot water, oh well, we didn't wait for it half hour to warm it up. Wifi was a bit of a challenge if two of us wanted to send in pics would not load it, so we took turns. The area is super quiet, wished we stayed longer than 3 nights. No phone reception in the area but we were told that too.
Overall an amazing experience to recharge away from the big city in these difficult times we live in. Town people are very nice, there is a grocery store in town as well.
