The Lobby is really nice, we loved the coffee machine and beds were comfy
No noise control, there was a stray hair in our shower and they didn’t really clean the room left cups all around

Fantastic common area with bar, breakfast and lots of seating. Cool place to hang out. Great room overlooking the city and excellent breakfast. Location in Japantown can't be beat as you are a short uber to anywhere in the city whilst avoiding some of the unpleasantness of downtown SF.
Bed a bit tired. Too bad they tiled over the Japanese tub. No door on washroom. just a louvered door on WC was a bit off putting. Thought the price was a tad too high for the room.

Beautiful hotel.
Not. Ring able to check in until 4pm. Extra charges and very expensive car parking. Charges put through on my card before check out.

The hotel location in Japantown was perfect. Parking was easy in the city parking garage attacked to the hotel. The staff was excellent, so attentive and kind. The lobby area was huge and had so many great seating areas for relaxing. There was also a 24/7 coffee/tea station which was great. We spent an afternoon downstairs just reading on a sofa, which was lovely. The room itself was simple and clean. The bathroom was not luxurious, but perfectly adequate. The buffet breakfast (an extra cost) was great. Huge variety and good quality food. Would highly recommend this hotel to others visiting the city, especially anyone hoping to avoid the downtown area which can be very busy.
My only slight complaint was that there is no separate light in the toilet and no door to the sink area outside so in the middle of the night the option was either to pee in the dark or turn on a light that would very likely wake up anyone else in the room. Overall this was just a minor inconvenience and the lobby, staff and location of the hotel more than made up for it! We would stay there again for sure!

Location as it is in Japantown. Convenient being that it is close to restaurants and shops. Hotel room service was good and they were friendly. However, front desk staff was selective on who to be friendly with. Observed they are more helpful and mindful to young people rather than middle aged and more mature clients. This was sad to see.
Very very expensive! Prohibitive. So many extra charges including ridiculous resort fee, for what??? Breakfast food was dry and rubbery. Coffee from machine was so-so. Parking fee was advertised as $30 but then hotel charged $35 on bill. WTH? They wouldn't even honor a request to check in on a higher floor. Had to ask for extra blanket and pillow/s. SF is cold, people!

Very stylish, unique hotel. And in 2023, it's important to add that it's in a safe neighborhood. Hotel Kabuki is rightly on many lists like the 10 Coolest Hotels in San Francisco and the very Best Boutique Hotels in San Francisco. I agree. I've lived in San Francisco for almost 30 years and know the neighborhoods well. While renovating our apartment, I had to find a room near home last minute. I looked extensively online and found other hip, beautiful hotels in SF, but once I saw the neighborhood or cross streets, I knocked them off the list because of how seedy the areas are now. Hotel Kabuki is the rare gem that is All. The. Things. The aesthetics are a 10 out of 10. The hotel strikes an eyebrow-raising balance between artistic and minimalist. The staff is top-notch, welcoming, warm, professional. The beds, pillows, and sheets are incredibly comfortable. Everything is super clean and fresh. The lounge is so inviting it was impossible not to enjoy my complimentary coffee in it before leaving. Two big thumbs up. I love it. (Photos by Jessica Kay and Aubrie Pick)
The parking lot was full when I arrived, albeit it late at night. On the bright side, I found a parking spot right across the street, and because the meter was broken, I ended up getting FREE parking (FYI: it's a metered spot on the northwest side of Post Street near Buchanan in front of Sally's Salon). In a city where hotel parking ranges from $40-$100 per night, that was a fun win. There was lots of open street parking, and the meters start at 9 AM, so it's not a bad idea to park on the street. There's also a Japantown parking lot right down the block. If Hotel Kabuki were in a different neighborhood, I might not recommend street parking, but it's quiet, calm, and safe here.

The lobby is beautiful! Wish we could have spent more time there.
Kind older building. The shower was huge but could use a refresh.

good location
Drab dark room finishes, no bathtub

sofa bed was very uncomfortable but I guess that goes with the territory

We got a nice upgrade and had a great view. Of course we paid a bit more for it, but it was worth it. We also liked that the bus stops were nearby.
My only gripe is that the shower door was glass and I was traveling with my 23yr old son. We had to take turns leaving the comfort of the the room when the other took a shower.

location
they charged me for parking but not the other couples that stayed .. I asked at the desk and they said basically I was out of luck… so I won’t stay there again

the lobby área very welcoming. in the room the bed and bedding
the many lights in the bathroom and the price for breakfast very unnecessary expensive

Everything was spectacular from check-in to check-out. The staff is very accommodating, the hotel is stunning, and the location is so close to many great streets for shopping, food, and fun. Thank you!
Would be great if there was a business center for printing documents rather than going to the UPS down the street as most hotels usually have this. The only other feedback was that the wifi didn't work on my phone very well.

The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable.
The bathroom doesn't have a door nor does the shower which can be annoying. The hotel also doesn't provide free parking.

Location was amazing! Staff very friendly and helpful. There was one bellhop, I stupidly forgot to ask his name, but he was so kind and amazing. Made the end of my birthday celebration on a great note
Nothing to say here

Great atmosphere in the main lobby and really enjoyed the free coffee station.

The lobby, the gardens, the gym are visually gorgeous and invite hanging out instead of hiding in your room.
Our room, in the garden wing faces the street. Not the garden. it was incredibly loud starting about 3 am (not normal city noise; sirens, horns, etc. but trash and deliver trucks for a steady two hours)
