The location on the cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean
The small little town essentially shuts down at 5:00 p.m.

Our hotel room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The front office staff was very friendly and personable. Perfect location!
Our room had a kitchenette, but there were no utensils or plates. We could have used a couple of spoons to stir our morning coffee and eat some breakfast yogurt. Also, the sheets smelled like they had been washed in a scented detergent. This is a challenge for people who are allergic to scented products. Neither of these items would interfere with us staying at this property again however.

jade was by far the best part of our stay.

Beautiful views and clean room! Close to restaurants. Would definitely stay there again.
Could not get to the beach from the inn but owner has a list of area beaches and provided excellent advice on which to go to.

Staff went out of way to accommodate our family when I made an error with the booking. Even upgraded the room at no cost. Highly recommend. Also view from the fire pit is great and looks over a state park with waves crashing on the beach.

The staff was very accommodating when I ran late getting there - the room was ready to go, a whole assortment of breakfast snacks were provided, since Covid had closed open breakfast bar and when I wanted to extend an extra night, it was no problem! I'll definitely recommend it to everyone I know traveling to Mendocino coast!
I was completely satisfied with everything

Location! Easy parking right in front of our room, quiet, pleasant and friendly office staff, lots of coffee pods for the Kuerig, quick internet, and lovely walking path with beautiful ocean view.
Room was rather small and the bed wasn't particularly comfortable, not horrible just the pad was odd and too bulky, for a queen size bed.

I loved the firepit area, and the trail just behind the hotel. It was a super easy walk to a great market, post office, etc.
The walls were a bit thin and my neighbor kept slamming his door in the middle of the night.

Great location, ocean view, close to restaurants and grocery store
Room was tiny, furniture old. Thin walls - unfortunately had drunk guests nearby screaming late at night but you could hear people speaking quietly, too.
My friend had an ocean view room that was much larger and had more privacy. So be careful when choosing rooms.
Also, website is misleading. They say they don't serve breakfast but that they DO offer scones/pastries. All we got was some commercial snacks.

Oldest Motel/Inn in the town and slowly renovating. Jade, the Hostess, was very helpful and accommodating. It was magnificent listening to the waves at night! Highly recommended

Nice spacious room with a couch and armchairs, and a little kitchen. Wonderful staff. Great location with gorgeous view, and very quiet at night. Bagged breakfast was also a nice and thoughtful addition.

We had a view of the ocean from our room. We also could get a breakfast bag from the office which included hard boiled eggs, yogurt, biscotti and oatmeal. Our room had a refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. I loved that the motel was on the Bluff Trail and that we could walk to a restaurant that served a great breakfast. The property had tables and chairs out near the coastline for those with reservations to sit in. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The room was small. What I did not like was finding out that by booking the room through a third party, I paid about $80 more for our stay (4 nights) than if I had booked directly with Surf Inn.
