Location was relatively easy to reach from BART transit. Room was clean and had been recently refreshed.
Breakfast was hardly worth mentioning- old oatmeal envelopes, toast, grocery store single packaged pastries, toast, coffee machine didn't work. Rooms were recently redone with nice materials, but with obviously poor workmanship. Would have been "OK" if it was a still a Travelodge, but I exeected more from the upgraded branding. Reasonable sized closet for hanging clothes, but very limited space to put away other clothes. Nice bathroom refresh spoiled by poor workmanship.

Very clean and bright. Very spacious. Shower was hot. Good location for Berkeley
Outside noise is quite loud. Also the ventilation in the bathroom and the fridge were very loud.

The room was very clean and the bed was comfy. The shower was spacious. The room had lots of room and I didn't feel cramped. The AC worked great and kept the room comfortable. Parking was free. The hotel is in a great location.
There was an alarm in the room I couldn't turn off but it buzzed every hour. I didn't see a breakfast anywhere, but I also didn't really look for it.

Easy, convenient, affordable with free parking. Perfect for what we needed.
Floor of corridor by the railing looks unfinished, needs cleaning.

Staff was so friendly, check in was super easy and they even allowed me to check in later in the night. The room was clean and updated. The bathroom was beautiful! There is free parking, and the beds and pillows were nice. The room had a nice large TV, the remote was a little confusing. There is a Nations Giant Burger by the motel that is open late. The vending machines were out of order, but they had drinks and snacks for sale in the lobby. There was a really cool light that had a nightlight feature on it, which I thought was great to help with small children or to help you see a little at night. The parking lot was well lit at night and the shades on the windows help to keep the light out. You can tell that the staff takes pride in this property.
Our room had 2 queen beds, but it was kind of a small room and limited storage. The beds felt like a full and not a queen. It wasn’t a problem for us, but something that should be noted. There wasn’t a screen on our bathroom window, granted we were on the second floor. The only recommendation I would make is to invest in pillow protectors for the rooms.

The room was clean and neat, and nicely remodeled.
It was very small with very little room to walk around the end of the beds.

Location is walking distance from downtown Berkeley and well located to reach the highways. Near restaurants, groceries, shops, and walking distance to university. rooms have mini fridge and coffee maker.
The rooms were not very clean (make up on pillow covers), lots of dust/dirt under beds. the beds and pillows are uncomfortable, you completely sink in the mattress and the pillows have no shape. The room walls appear to be really thin as we could hear the TV and people talking in other rooms all night. The 2 nights we stayed, people had TV on or were talking loudly until way past midnight. the area is also very noisy, lots of cars coming/going from the parking lot and people talking in the parking lot (all rooms open to parking lot). Rooms have windows but they face directly the busy parking lot, so it doesn’t really provide any privacy. Safe was not working. I would not recommend for families.

We were attending a function at UC Berkeley and the location was perfect for that. The room was very comfortable and clean and quiet and parking, check-in and check-out were very quick and easy. However, the best part was the personal service of the staff. We needed an early check-in because of the timing of our event and it was handled beautifully. After we checked out the next day, my wife left her hair dryer at the Travelodge and they called to let us know she had left it behind. Such great personal service. I would heartily recommend this Travelodge to people visiting Berkeley.

The room was perfect and everyone is nice
I booked a room for my mom and aunt to stay in during a 1-week visit. The room wa perfect and everyone is nice. After 2 days my relatives mentioned: "there has been someone knocking on the door around 2 am, when we asked who it was we got no reply". We thought it may be some other guest that was confused about the room or something, so we ignored it.
Then it happened for a 3rd time, my relatives tried calling reception but got no answer. Obviously scared, they moved some furniture to block the door. Then, finally, they got a call from reception because people downstairs were complaining about the noise. They explained the situation and the receptionist told them to call him next time, but nothing else.
The fourth time luckily I was there. We were having some pizza (around 1 am) after a long day. Then I hear some knocking, so I go to check the door. I see a middle-aged man, who was obviously startled by me opening the door. I ask him what he wants, and notice he is clearly intoxicated and incoherent. I close the door and immediately call reception.
After finishing our late meal, I checked with the receptionist to ask what happened. He tells me he talked to the guy, who said he was lost and just looking for directions. This makes no sense and this is a 2nd floor room and not the first one reachable. I suggest that he reach out to the local authorities about this, as this is not the first time this has happened.
The entrance to this hotel is not closed, and there is no control over who comes in and out of the property.
There are cameras, but what good are they if nobody checked them after we complained this has happened several times? What good are they if they can't identify a trespasser that has been there several times?
There is someone in the reception (until 3 am only), but what good is this if he can't/doesn't control who gets to the rooms?
