Nice people.
Should be cleaner.

Considering the Hotel had allegedly had a recent makeover the room felt tired and not the cleanest we'd experienced on our trip. Comfortable though and the staff were more than helpful. It was OK
Bathroom was not the cleanest and a little tired.

I did not like much of it, the hotel appeared empty, nobody at the bar, nobody in the restaurant, empty, even thought it was 7pm. Uninviting. Did not even had breakfast, I checked out early , the front desk person did not care, when he asked me if everything had been allright and I told him all the problems, someone interrupted my checkout and he was called inside, and a lady, with a heavy accent, finished checking me, I could not understand exactly what was the problem, figuring out at the end that the receipt would be mailed to me. Poor Customer Service, I will never stay in this place again,
the room was a total disaster, it had a musty smell, it was cold, the hot air did not work, and when I tried calling the front desk, the phone was not working, had to use my cell phone to call the front desk. By the time i was settled in another room close to 3 hours had passed. The hotel looked empty, and missing life.

The front desk ladies in the morning were great, very helpful. The driver for the shuttle bus was exceptional, very personable, got us where we needed to be at the airport so we could finally get home. Beautiful hotel, heard it had been redone and it shows. Comfy beds. Great water pressure.
There had been severe weather that morning at O'Hara which we heard grounded flights. That led to a ridiculous amount of international flights coming into O'Hara all at the same time. 4 hours going through Customs, made us miss our connection flight back to SC. All hotels in a 10 mile radius were booked solid. We didn't know Chicago at all so we're worried about ending up in a bad area. Took a chance on this hotel, got a much needed great night's sleep. But I will say, this hotel needs to have an emergency plan when stuff like this happens so proper staffing can be ensured!
The guy at the front desk at 1am when we checked in after a delayed flight from overseas made us miss our connection was AWFUL. We called the hotel to ask a question before we arrived TWICE and no one answered after 2-3 minutes of ringing. When we finally got to the hotel, there was a line of 8 people...at 1am?! After 24 hours with no sleep, finally checked in, he sent us in the wrong direction for the elevators. Another guest helped us to find them...crazy there are so damn far from the front reception area! How are there NO SIGNS showing where the elevators are?!
The poor guy in the restaurant the next morning really tried his best, several full tables and he was by himself! There had to be a manager there...why wasn't anyone else called in to help that night and the next morning? Poorly staffed!

Nice rooms , breakfast was nice
The insulation between rooms was bad and we could hear everything the neighbors did, breakfast was the same every day and things were not covered and dried out, staff was not that nice. We stayed for a long time and they did not refresh things, we had to keep asking.

The staff was friendly enough and even provided us with plates when we ordered pizza.
I have mobility challenges and the front elevator was out of order the first night we got there so I had to take the rear elevator which was on the complete opposite side from where my room was. Then, the key card reader at the back door to the rear elevator was broken so another member of our group had to run around to the front again to let us in.
The reason I chose this hotel in the first place was the outdoor pool. Having mobility issues is tough and being weightless in a nice pool is so comforting so I had been looking forward to it since I booked. Well, there are no stairs into the pool, only very rickety ladders. I can’t do ladders. So I couldn’t swim. The pool looked like it was from the 70’s and hadn’t ever been refurbished. There was also a really cool looking tiki bar so I figured a drink poolside would be my consolation prize while my family swam. Nope. Tiki bar was closed the entire length of our stay.
This hotel has the bones to be really great, but it was not mobility friendly at all and needs some serious refurbishment on the pool.

Beds were comfortable, clean, nice looking pool but didn't get to go in. Also even though we got in very late front desk was able to check us in.
No Cable TV only about 4 channels, shower pressure to hard. Woke up on the first morning by the front desk due to Maintenance needing to come in the room because there was a leak on the floor below.

Everything smelled clean. The bedding was comfortable, and the air conditioner was fabulous. The breakfast was really good but the price is a bit high, at $16-20 per plate.
The door needed to have a new seal put around it. Light and some noise passed through at night.

The shower was good.
Staff rude and unhelpful.
First room we were given the bed wasn't even made. No sheet, etc.
Tried to discuss the breakfast add on and they refused to help telling us to discuss with booking.com
Booking.com also extremely unhelpful telling us to discuss with the hotel.

Not enough options for the "free" breakfast. Housekeeping never restocked the coffee supplies in our room. We had to keep going to the front desk to ask for coffee and cups.

The breakfast, the staff, and the facility. All of it was great. This hotel appears to have recently undergone some updates.
The thermostat in our room didn't work properly.
