Reception Team and Doorman were friendly.
Location is in a very nice neighbourhood.
The rooms are small with very tired decoration.
No view at all from the 6th floor with constant sound of aircons at the neighbouring buildings.

Parts of the hotel look quite tired and could do with some TLC. Staff were amazing. Food delicious. Service faultless. Over and above.

We stayed here for our last two nights of a three week holiday, which started and ended in NYC (and took in 9 states and two Canadian provinces), with a view to enjoying pure luxury - and for the most part, the hotel itself and the people working there lived up to and exceeded our expectations.
We received an excellent reception upon arrival, and all of the front of house staff were very helpful and always cheerful, throughout our stay - the receptionists, concierge, bellboy, and all. The doorman was great, including organising a taxi to take us to the airport - he went down the road and came back in the taxi with him!
The complementary drink, fruit bowl and bottle of red wine on arrival were very welcome, thank you. Loved the dark chocolates on the front desk, and we were given some others when we left.
Breakfasts were excellent, as was the service - the head waiter was very good. We had slightly more than the included breakfast amount on the second day, but there was no additional charge, which was appreciated.
The bed was extremely comfortable, including the pillows, and we slept well both nights - though there was a rude awakening the second morning - see 'what we didn't like'.
Shower was good - we didn't use the bath with the TV above it.
I have rated as a 9, rather than 10, because of the extremely loud noise from the two guys suspended in a cradle using a heavy duty hammer drill on the wall right outside our window on the last morning, well before 10am. This was unacceptable and I would have appreciated it if some form of consideration had been offered and granted in lieu. I accept the need for work to be done, of course, but I feel sure it could have waited until later in the day, and when one is spending over £1,000 for the night, well....
Some additional oat milk requested for our room didn't come, and it would have been good to have had some left in the fridge for us to use with tea and coffee. The cups were taken after use and not replaced, and there were no spoons left thereafter. Minor details, but it's those sort of little things that count.
The lighting in the bedroom could be better, my partner found it dark when getting ready to go out (as there is no central light).

The hotel is in a fabulous location and the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent and the turn down service thoughtful. We would definitely stay here again.
The decor is a little dated. The hotel is also quite expensive but that rather goes with the Upper East side territory!

Nothing.

The professionalism, friendliness and overall service orientedness of the staff was extremely outstanding. I travel all around the world and it was exceptional. Of particular note were: Eric Dupaix, Anthony and Emilie. They, and the rest of the staff, helped make my stay truly extraordinary. I have stayed at the St. Regis for over 13 years at least 1x a month and I am seriously considering switching!!
No room service but I know that is COVID related. Hallways are a bit tight.

The outstanding service. The bathrooms a comfortable bed the in-house restaurant
I think they should redo their older bathrooms that have the tabs so that they are more modern.
