The deep soaker tub. Excellent cleaning staff.
Rude front staff, hot rooms, smell of impregnated smoke. No early check in. No real amenities and overpriced breakfast $27 per person. View from room were mounds of dirt from construction site.

Nice exterior remodel
furniture is old, dated and heavily scratched. A/C control had little to no affect. Overlooked abandoned property

The spa staff were very nice.
I got to the hotel at 10:00am for a Spa appointment. After which I asked the hotel staff if there was a chance to check early. They said no and to come back at 3:00PM. I went back at 3:00PM only to discover that the room was not ready. I asked the staff when it would be ready, they could not give me a straight answer. I then begin given them a range of times to choose from- they indicated no more than 30 minutes and to leave my number. More than a hour and half later, I watched them clear the lobby of guest waiting and they said nothing to me. As a matter of fact, they went up to guests and gave them their keys. I watched the female hotel staff walk right up to the people sitting next to me given them their keys. She looked at me out the corner of her eye, said nothing to me. When I was the only person left in the lobby, no one asked me if I had been helped. I then went to the check in desk this same employee didn't even look around from her computer to acknowledge me. She said-”yes”. I begin to give her my name and ask if my room was ready. She picked up a stack of papers pulled out the one with my name on it, gave me the keys. No one ever apologized for the wait. As the only black person sitting in the lobby and the first of all guest checking in for the day, I found this treatment very offensive. The room they gave me was on the 7th floor at the back of the hotel facing an abandoned building😒. I will never spend my money to stay at this hotel again.

I did not eat there
When booking my reservation, I asked for extra towels and pillows but that did not happen.
The cleanliness and condition of my room was very poor considering what I paid. The carpeting was filthy dirty, the bottom of my feet were black from walking in the room. The shower control was broken so I couldn't use the shower head. The bottom hem of the drapes was torn and they were dragging on the floor when I attempted to open the sliding door. There were some stains on the sheets. And I ran out of toilet tissue and there was no back-up.

Everything about our stay was phenomenal. It felt luxurious and as if we were no longer in the state of California. Most certainly will be returning.
I have no recommendations for improvements.

Location
Breakfast was limited from 7-9 and had a very limited selection. The room and fitness room was very dusty on floors and fittings. Fitness equipment old and falling apart. The entire hotel is in need of an upgrade. wifi was spotty. TV in the room did not work. Several of the plugs in my room did not work.

The bed was super cozy! I absolutely loved the bathroom. soak tub and rain type shower. The bidet also top tier, really enjoyed that you could open the balcony window to let some fresh air in. Will definitely come back and try the restaurant.

The pillows were wonderful. The beds were quite comfortable. The bathroom was exceptional.
The security on the elevator was good but a bit confusing at first.

Nice location & hotel decor was very classy.
Upon checking in the first night of their stay, my brother and his wife discovered that they had been given a room with a broken toilet (& the next morning they also discovered they'd been given a broken coffee maker). They had to take the lid off the toilet tank in order to flush it. Because they had checked in late, they went to bed and called the front desk in the morning to have maintenance come fix the toilet & also bring in a new coffee maker. But the worst part of having to deal with the hassle of room problems, for me, was the attitude of the front desk clerk when I went to pick my brother up. I had booked & paid for the room, but when I complained to the clerk about all the hassles my brother was dealing with, right away she said she would NOT comp the stay (I had paid for 4 nights/$945) --not even the first day when they had to deal with a broken toilet! She said they would "investigate when" the guest "called" management to let them know the toilet was broken. Like all hotel rooms are ALLOWED to have broken toilets--& its up to the customer(!) to make sure they get fixed! This clerk has NO customer service experience--at least not in the classy way you would think this hotel would operate. The whole time she stared hard at me like she was trying to wear me out--like I was the one in the wrong! I said I'd post a review about our experience, telling her to be sure to let management know.
I have NEVER experienced hotel customer service like this (& I've travelled quite a lot). Usually, hotels care a lot about their clientele's comfort & experience. They will usually comp at least the night their accommodations or service causes obvious problems for their guests. They certainly dont fight the guests about compensating for when a room clearly falls short of what is being advertised.

We had stayed in this property before and enjoyed the convenience of the nearby bakery and a large Japanese supermarket with a nice food court.
However, the large Japanese supermarket had moved to 2 miles away when we visited this time. Not really a big deal.
When we arrived we were told that there will be no daily room cleaning due to the pandemic! Since we’re staying for 6 nights we are allowed one room cleaning on the day of our choice. This was news for us since it was not on their website. I see no reason for this. in addition, every day we found a new pile of fresh towels on our bathroom counter but used towels were not removed. you can imagine the piles of unnecessary towels taking up space in our bathroom. They also did not bothered to take away the trash in our room daily even though they entered our room to deposit the towels. The nice small lobby now has only three isolated chairs. The worst was when we got into our room the faux leather chair had broken and peeling seat. It looked so disgusting that I demanded it to replaced immediately. This is worse than a third world hotel.
