Great location in the heart of Charleston. Beautiful facility. Gets its name from the renovation of several older buildings. Wine and cheese every night in the lounge area. Rooms are spacious, well appointed with small kitchenette and complimentary sodas and sparkling water, cheese and crackers in the refrig. We've stayed here before and will stay here again. Highly recommend

All the stairs, made getting luggage to and from room challenging.

The location was great. The quality of the rooms and all of the finishes everywhere were top notch. The attention to detail was impressive. For example, the full size mirrors were in the shape of a nearby church window with the frames painted in indigo. Of course, indigo was the primary cash crop that created Charlotte's wealth. Lots of little details everywhere.
The room we stayed in was comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful, towels soft and thick. Fridge was well stocked with sodas and juice (included in the price).
I didn't like the fact that there wasn't a proper lobby. There was a walkway between the lobby where you checked in (which had no seating) and the library. The walkway took you to the lifts to the rooms as well as a rooftop restaurant. The restaurant was popular and the lifts often busy with dinner or lunch guests. The library on the other side was beautiful with a gorgeous fireplace but felt detached and the seating was limited. For example, when getting a coffee from the coffee-shop attached to the hotel in the morning, there was no seating available.
Breakfast was delivered in the basket each morning and left outside the door. It is a cute idea but there wasn't much in the basket that we would eat and we had to make our own coffee.

The experience at The Restoration exceeded every expectation. The building was absolutely beautiful and the staff were exceptional. I would highly recommend this property.

spacious rooms, nice amenities.
could use more available electrical outlets

perfect space for us
lots of split levels for dealing with bags to much navigating three steps here with a door and the two steps there with another door to get to the right elevators

Decor and location, great!
Stayed on 207, super loud people above us, running back and forth. Heard everything until 9pm.
Floors/ceiling very thin.
The temp in the room went from hot to cold and back and forth. It was cold outside and it seemed like the AC/Heat could not regulate.

how close proximity to King Street and the lovely restaurant and coffee shop, plus free keep ride.
the bed was too hard and needs a pillow top and didn’t care for sleeping pillows. Would be nice to receive regular yogurt & not Splenda yogurt.

The pool on the roof was actually a hot tub

The staffs were very friendly and helpful.
Upon checking into our room, there were mosquitos in the room. Our bottle of conditioner was also empty. I ordered the birthday package. A couple of the balloons from the balloon bouquet were deflating. We got a slice of cake instead of a personal cake and it was the wrong flavor.

Breakfast basket was amazing ❤️

our room, 303 was very loud with noise from street cleaning and other commercial vehicles on Wentworth street and music from street performers on King St. The room was spacious, and we had stayed in that room previously. We requested a room with direct outdoor access. I phoned a few days prior to arrival to confirm this request and was assured of such a room (which I knew existed because we have stayed in room with 2nd floor rooftop access) however was told upon arrival that no such room was available. It was important to us to be able to step outside into fresh air and this was not possible in room 303. Additionally, the curved corner window in room 303 has sharp nails protruding up and when we sit in the window seat our clothes would snag and it hurt.

Noisy. Doorman watched me unload my luggage from the taxi. I guess his job is just to stand there and look pretty?

I loved the size of our accommodation and the thoughtful details. Picnic basket continental breakfast every day, water, seltzer and coffee replenished too. The washer and dryer came in handy, and the rooms were spacious and quiet.
Not much! The location was a good walk from the touristy stuff, but otherwise wonderful.
