You get what you pay for

Location was ideal and easy access to subway.

The rooms dont have proper air circulation. With upto 12 people in one room, you feel suffocation. There is one air filter type thing in room though. One of the rooms I stayed in felt like old age home. The people in their 60s were my dorm mates. I think they should either keep it a youth hostel or just assign rooms considering the age.

Agradable, cómodo y cercano.

La ubicación creo que es perfecta, super cerca de dos estaciones del metro, y cerca del Central Park, caminando llegas a varios sitios.

Lo unico por lo que no obtuvieron la mayor puntuacion fue porque las conecciones para cargar el celular o en general las colecciones eléctricas que estan en las camas, no funcionan del todo bien, tuve que cargar mi cel en una conección junto a los locker, se ven flojas, creo que solo esa parte deberian mejorar.

Un soggiorno ideale per chi viaggia solo o con amici

Staff pronto ad accogliere qualsiasi esigenza, presenza di un bar all’interno della struttura in cui fare colazione, pranzo o cena. In alternativa c’è una cucina super attrezzata dove è possibile riporre la propria spesa.

Bagni troppo distanti e affollati. Un unico ascensore un po’ lento in quanto si ferma a tutti i piani

Mitigée mais auberge bien placée

Le rideau qui permet d'avoir un peu d'intimité, une serviette, la prise usb pour charger son téléphone, la douche qui se ferme et avec un banc et des crochets, avoir une buanderie/launderie, proche du métro.

L'ascenseur très lent et souvent en panne j'étais au 3ème, la climatisation qui fait du bruit, trop forte puis en panne, impossibilité d'ouvrir les fenêtres, pas vraiment de système pour accrocher sa serviette et sa veste, mon repas volé dans le frigo malgré l'étiquette, la gestion bordélique des frigos, la gestion de la cuisine (règles non respectés), souvent de l'attente à la réception donc on ne peut rien demandé, le personnel de la réception n'est pas du tout souriant. Les voyageurs ne cherchent plus à faire connaissance. Quartier qui fait un peu peur selon la rue prise le soir.

Well located, good facilities, fantastic value.

Well located near the 1 train. Easy to get around the city from the hostel. Room was pretty clean. Only spent one night there, so I didn't have a ton of experience. The staff put on a nice set of events while I was there. Central Park is right down the street for recreation. All facilities were clean

Moderne et sécurisé, ne pas oublier des bouchons d’oreilles.

L’hôtel est sécurisé, moderne, avec beaucoup de services ( mini boulangerie avec sandwich, viennoiseries, café), billard, cuisine collective, jardin, télévision, laverie. Facilement accessible en métro.

Le désavantage des dortoirs est les personnes qui l’occupent. Il faut accepter les couches-tard, les lèves-tôt et ceux qui font des insomnies… prendre des bouchons d’oreilles et un masque pour les yeux.

Volver a HI New York City Hostel!

Magnificas las actividades para huéspedes, lo mejor fueron las caminatas con guias conocedores de la historia de New York, de los pubs, de los parques y barrios tradicionales. Las instalaciones son muy interesantes, y todo se encuentra organizado de tal manera que responde a distintos intereses, y lo más interesante es un gran patio en el que puedes descansar, tomar el sol, o meditar en medio del verde. Está a 10 minutos a pie de Central Park, lo cual es genial para quien viene por primera vez a NY, como en mi caso.

El personal que atiende a veces no es accesible. El aire acondicionado genera una atmósfera muy fría en las habitaciones, además en la habitación compartida no teníamos cortinas en los camarotes. Otro punto a mejorar es que cobran por guardarte la maleta unas horas cerca de 10 dólares, lo cual implica un gasto no considerado. No obstante volvería por su ubicación y oferta.

La meilleure auberge de New York, j'y reviendrai sans hésiter !

L'emplacement est excellent car en plein Manhattan. Les espaces communs sont super, notamment le jardin et la possibilité de laver son linge sur place. Enfin, le grand plus a été le personnel qui m'a beaucoup aidé. J'ai perdu mon passeport et toutes mes affaires. Ils sont restés à mon écoute, m'ont imprimé des documents et donné toutes les informations nécessaires pour me repérer et trouver l'ambassade ainsi que le poste de police le plus proche. Ils m'ont même fourni une carte de métro (remerciement spécial au manager qui a pris de son temps pour le faire et qui se reconnaîtra je l'espère). Merci à eux tous qui sont profondément gentils, serviables et bienveillants !

Franchement très peu de chose sont à redire. On a eu quelques problèmes de climatisation pendant le pique de chaleur et les toilettes communes ne sont pas toujours très propres. Mais pour une auberge de jeunesse, ce n'est pas gênant.

Buena estancia y ambiente

Ya me eh hospedado varias veces aqui y siempre vuelvo por que es excelente relacion calidad precio y ubicacion, estas en manhattan a una cuadra del metro, el hostal siempre se siente vivo mucha gente va y viene excelente para conocer nuevas personas.

Quizas el AC era un poco ruidoso, pero se agradece siempre la temperatura adecuada en el cuarto especialmente en verano.

Love it here!

One day before my arrival, I had some problems with my credit card and the hostel couldn't withdraw the money. I wrote to the staff and they were so nice ( thanks to Gillian especially!) They calmed me down telling that will not be problem about my reservation. That helped me a lot. Also i like that they have lots of activities and many amenity rooms to get socialized with other guests. I love the curtains around the bunks and electric sockets above the head. But the most important reason that i chose hi new york is the location-price balance. I think it is amazing

I would like to have natural ventilation option in the rooms. And maybe the lockers in the rooms could be bigger

O hostel fica próximo a duas estações de metro (linha vermelha e linha azul), apesar de não ser o melhor bairro de NY, vale muito a pena pelo valor, com o uso do metrô você chega a qualquer lugar de NY. Apesar de ser um bairro mais simples, me senti segura nos arredores do hostel, mesmo andando sozinha. O banheiro é um ponto forte é limpo e confortável, apesar de compartilhado.

Nada, atendeu às expectativas de custo/benefício.

Bien pero consideren para un poco mas por otra ubicación.

Todo esta limpio y perfecto, el personal y las actividades que organizan para que las personas que viajan solas se conozcan son muy buenas.

La ubicación, la zona no es la mejor y no es muy seguro caminar por ahi de noche. Queda muy lejos de las atracciones turísticas o de la vida nocturna.

Nice comfortable stay.

Breakfast was fine, unfortunately there wasn't a hot breakfast as machine wasn't working the same as the previous night.

The bedroom was stuffy.I suppose its hard to have a/c everywhere as its expensive.

Localização boa a poucos metros do metrô e do Central Park, ótimos restaurantes e mercados perto, uma boa lanchonete dentro do hostel, cozinha bem equipada.

Se tivesse café da manhã seria ótimo, a insistência pra te colocar em um quarto inferior ao que foi reservado e pago com antecedência é muito ruim. O hospede as vezes precisa pedir pra ser colocado no quarto que pagou e não em quarto inferior.

Very nice!

It was honestly much better than I expected. I'm usually tend to not book hostels, but accommodation is expensive in NYC so I found this to be the better option... and I was positively surprised! The bedroom and bed were great, with a privacy curtain, light, two pillows and outlets. The bathrooms were very clean. There's a bar in the lobby area, a kitchen and laundry room - the hostel really has a lot to offer! The staff is very kind and I had a problem with the AC in my room which was quickly solved. There's a subway very close to the hostel and many places to eat around. I felt very comfortable during my stay and I slept very well during the night, which can be hard for me. I definitely recommend!

I took a while to find the hostel because I wasn't sure if that was the right place or not. Then I realized the doors wouldn't open from outside unless you had a key so I had to wait until someone left to be able to get in. The smell wasn't so pleasant in the bedroom and the outlet is badly positioned (my adaptor wouldn't fit, but thankfully there were USB and USB-C ports). There's also only one elevator so you have to wait a looong time. The surrounding feels a little sketchy during early morning and late at night, but I didn't have any issues regardless.

Invraisemblable de n’avoir ni draps ni serviette sur notre lit à notre arrivée. Je suis arrivé tard, mes voisins de chambre dormaient. Je me suis rendu compte en me couchant que je n’avais aucun drap ni serviette. J’ai donc dormi sans rien. Hallucinant

We went for a short trip. Really got to travel and the location is good. The hostel is clean.

Bring a lock for the locker and flip flops for the washroom .

Excelente custo benefício para estar perto de tudo!

Hostel com estrutura excelente e muito limpo e organizado! Armários super espaçosos, cabem até uma mala de 23kg junto com uma mochila! Banheiros sempre limpos e com muita quantidade de chuveiros! Localizado perto do metrô e de algumas atrações principais!

Good value for money, very youthful and a fun place to stay.

The facilities were clean, the cafe downstairs was very convenient and the overall atmosphere was great! Events and tours were a nice extra.

The beds could have been sturdier as every time someone would walk past my bed, it would shake and wake me up. The same happened when the person sleeping under me was switching sides - very frustrating. The elevator was very slow. The rooms should've had more outlets! I stayed in room 331 and it was extremely frustrating that the beds did not have individual outlets!

Très bon rapport qualité/prix pour manhattan

Localisation Métro proche Lit avec rideau Dortoir assez grand Chambre équipé de Clim et couverture mise à dispo quand il a fait plus froid

Sol des sanitaire souvent pas très propre (du aux clients et non au personnel qui est très présent) Sanitaire très très chaud, pas de fenêtre, peut de ventilation. On vient de brosser les dents on peut presque reprendre une douche tellement il fait chaud.
