Lake access and use of kayaks, canoes and a rowboat.
Tea island resort is a very basic hotel that needs updating and some form of backup when the power goes out. A thunderstorm knocked out the power (can’t prevent that from happening) but what can help is the hotel staff could tell us when they expect it to be back on, give provisions for the hotel guests and check on them to see if they’re ok. Not a word! After 2 hours of being in the dark (literally) we went to the office and the owner told us yea you’ll just have to wait it out as she proceeded to tell us that the office (which is also her house) has a generator and we don’t know when the power will be back on. So we suggested for the future investing in a generator for the hotel guests and then she said would you like a flashlight? No nothing about offering us a credit since we didn’t have AC, lights or hot water, just a flashlight and to be on our way. Our power was out from 6:00 pm - 2:45 am.

The location is ideal, and the view of Lake George is gorgeous. The price was okay considering the very basic nature and appearance of our room. If you like very basic amenities, this is the right place for you.
This motel has lots of potential but is in great need of TLC. The railing on the top floor was rotted and could be dangerous, some of the ceiling tiles had water stains, the flooring was gray and old looking, and the bedding was drab. The mattress and overly small pillows were uncomfortable; I awoke with a backache. Dark hairs were found on the bathroom floor near the baseboard. Finally, someone evidently was not given clear instructions as to their assigned room and came pounding on our door at around midnight while we were sleeping. It was difficult to sleep after that rude awakening.

The walkways or a little bumpy for an older person.

We were greeted and treated like family. Got so many recommendations for eating and activities, we didn’t have enough time. There will definitely be a next time.
Some would complain about road noise, but since we were there on the weekend of the biggest car show in the region, we were extremely entertained.
