We really enjoyed this facility. You must bear in mind it is an old building in a funky part of town. There is no breakfast but as we don't eat breakfast this is not a loss; there was good local coffee available and that is all we asked for. There are several places nearby serving coffee and pastries if you need that. The room was clean and comfortable and appears to have been recently renovated. The location suited us as we wanted to attend an event nearby. The street has an urban ambiance without the "issues" that plague a downtown location.

super noisy. maybe offer ear plugs. also, the door into the hallway was super noisy when opened and closed. Horrible night of sleep and too expensive.

Shared bathroom

The shared Bathrooms were clean
I couldn’t walk around the bed. There was an old heater almost reaching the bed because the bed was so close to the wall. The room was so small it was comical. There is no air conditioning, making it difficult to sleep because it was so hot.

I had an accident while at the Inn. I hit my head I. The bathroom, it left a gash in my head, and I suffered a concussion. Personnel brought me some ice and stated I would get a call from management; however, that never happens. It was a shared bathroom with other people, strangers, I was uncomfortable. I was told the bathroom was cleaned periodically, but it wasn’t. It smelled old.

the location was amazing. lots of cute restaurants, bars and cafes around. beautiful historic decor. access to a great gym across the street with hot tub, 2 swimming pools and sauna.
rooms are small, shared bathrooms (though this was not inconvenient at all) and clearly hear all passers by from the street in the first floor rooms.

The only thing this place has going for it is the location. It's in such a great spot, but that's it.
Honestly, this place was way too expensive for what it is. First, when I booked I had no idea I had to share a bathroom and a shower with 12 other people. Secondly, no air-conditioning and on the first floor so you couldn't open the window. They give you a fan that's the size of a pie plate. Thirdly, it was so loud on Saturday night that I did not sleep at all. The banging doors went on until about 1:30am. Guests were very inconsiderate to the other guests. I didn't see the ear plugs until the next day! I wore them the next night and at least got a few hours of sleep. Someone should tell the guests about the noise and to look for the ear plugs.

Loved the historical aspect! Cant express that part enough. The room was perfect size with bathroom included. The king bed was huge and super comfy. Loved all the details that made it feel historical
The parking was odd as you have to check in at the Ballard Hotel and walk over to the building next door to get to your room, which I didnt mind, except it was close to midnight. Thankfully the amazing staff walked me over to the other building. The hair dryer blew out quite the disturbing odor upon use.

We felt we had a mini vacation in Europe for one night ,lovely hotel , room and facilities.Bed and pillows super comfortable.A myriad channels on the cable TV, mini fridge and coffee/tea apparatus.
Perfect for a "stay cation" like us or visitors to Seattle .From the doorstep you have a choice of great cafes, brew pubs and live music [We went to the Tractor Tavern] independent stores and a charming street.A huge plus was access to the Olympic Athletic Club across the street ,the wonderful and helpful staff at the Ballard Inn will book for you in advance for use of the pool or classes.Highly recommended.
Everything was great

SO beautiful and charming. I loved the history and the quaintness of it.
Booking advertised that it had an airport shuttle. It does not. You pay $75 one way with a Towncar company. Very good service, but not as advertised and my inexpensive hotel became expensive due to those fees.

Great location. Felt like I was staying at my grandparent’s house.

Very close to shops and restaurants.
The street noise was too much. Guests walking and using the bathroom was loud. Doors closing very loud.

Great location and beautifully decorated. Staff was very friendly and accommodating of an early check in. Small extra touches like the bottle of water in the room and ear plugs were appreciated.
Pay attention if the room you are booking is with the shared bathroom in the hall.

The shared bathrooms took me by surprise
3.0
The beds were roomy & comfortable.
Security is nosy. Apparently going outside to have a cigarette is grounds to being threatened to being thrown out. Even if it's outside. Careful not to be brown in public around the building either, as it makes the out of state white people frightened for merely existing. Won't ever stay here again.

Affordable budget hotel for a brief stay. We stayed 5 nights in a room with a king size bed on the second floor. The coffee in the lobby and free parking was great. There is free access to the gym next door but the group exercise classes are usually booked. My husband and I were able to attend one class each during our 5 night stay. The location in Ballard is perfect for strolling to the Carl English gardens and locks as well as the Sunday Ballard Farmers Market.
There is no AC so the inn gets rather warm. They do provide a room fan. The lobby is very tiny so there is no area to sit outside your room and use a laptop. The rooms are very tight so if you need to use a laptop you need to do it on your bed. It was a bit of a hassle having an inn staff member check to see if there were

Great location in the heart of Ballard.
We had been here for 5 nights recently and came back for another 3 nights. We had been guaranteed a room on the second floor and this was confirmed with the inn. When we checked in I was told we had to take a room (king size bed) on the first floor. It was much smaller than the expected room and not really big enough for 2 people with 2 carryons and 1 suitcase. You could barely walk around the room. I was told that 2 days earlier someone at the inn had changed our room assignment. The inn was booked so we could not change our room. The first floor room was hot and the window opened to street level which affects privacy and noise level. The room was uncomfortable and a bit more expensive than our prior room on the second floor. We also were unable to book a group exercise class at the lovely gym next door as there were no openings.

It was walking distance to my daughter's apartment. There were a variety of restaurants and interesting shops within walking distance. The parking garage was not too far away and there was a loading zone in front of the inn.
The inn is old and smells bad. Because of the busy street on which it is located, there is lots of noise. There is no coffee/tea available in the room and no fridge. Water bottle in the room was essentially tap water.
5.0
The location is great and the staff is super friendly.
Room was barely bigger than the bed and we had a shared bathroom. I wouldn’t have booked a shared bathroom if I had known up-front.
