Breakfast was really good. Location was great - just a block from Bay Street and the waterfront.
Weather was awfully hot this time of year in Beaufort.

I loved the accessibility of the gym and coffee shop. The bathroom with overhead shower was great !! We will definitely be staying here again .

Breakfast at City Java was amazing! Had a City Java latte & a blueberry muffin cake. Both were excellent!

I never checked on rates here even though I frequented the coffee shop when I used a clients condo on Fripp. I was pleasantly surprised it was actually fairly reasonable. Then I read about 20 reviews and knew this is where I wanted to stay. I actually switched from a really beautiful looking 2/2 bath townhome over in Bluffton to stay here. Was able to cancel that right by the cut off date. Liver everything about this place. Shared my pics on my FB page and friends set it looked wonderful. The location doesn’t hurt either. Very cordial and attentive staff. Young guy I spoke to before arrival when I asked if I would be top floor or bottom he said where would you like to be? I kidded that I tend to bring too much stuff and he said well let me know when you arrive I’ll come help you. So nice! I wound up doing it myself but the offer was terrific
Only thing was the little TV in the bathroom never got a signal. I understand it could be the weather that knocked it out

Cleanliness and decor
Air conditioning became quite noisy late in the evening; too late to change rooms

Everything was ‘just right’! The staff was friendly, homemade cookies hang on the door every night.

OK
I wanted to have enough toilet paper for mystay. Instead, I got two rolls for five nights and almost ranout, in spite of a note I put on my room door asking for more toilet paper.

Room key had to be replaced twice, only 1 of our keys worked the 2nd time. The main tv’s volume could not be changed! The tv in the bathroom could not even be watched because it is so old.

Nice clean updated room near town with convenient coffeeshop
Only issue if any I'd say it's that I'm a light sleeper & I did hear the road in the morning but it is walkable to town so it's a tradeoff.

Close to downtown restaurants and activities in the historic district
Had to request to have room cleaned and fresh towels. It was cleaned, bed made, etc once during our stay. Did not like the TV in the bathroom

dog friendly although it did cost $28. other places we stayed on our trip allowed dogs and did not charge an up fee and require a phone call

I liked the ease of speaking with hotel assistance, the location to the Marine base and the spacious, relaxing soaking tub! The room was clean and large with plenty of drawers to put your things away.
I would have liked to have had a microwave in my room.
