The villa had stunning views, was very spacious and was overall a great experience! My family and I will be back and highly recommend the villa! Merle is an absolute gem…and went above and beyond to make our stay super enjoyable!

Showed up for the first night of our stay to be greeted by a locked house with no means of entry. Once we made contact with the housekeeper, she relayed she wasn’t informed of our stay and would contact the owner. We then waited outside the home for approximately 4 hours while a crew cleaned up the place. Owner only emailed us a meager apology (stating that it has never happened before). Once we gained entry, one daughter was greeted by a mouse in her room. In addition the hot tub, ice maker, pool lights and TV didn’t function properly. Add to that a deck light that shocked my daughter, a gas range that required a lighter to work, a dishwasher that pops open mid cycle, and missing AC remotes in 2 of the bedrooms, the place wasn’t as advertised. If you want a spectacular view without any of the above amenities, this place will suit you. Otherwise pass.

Nicobar is a beautiful villa with stunning views, absolutely perfect for a very chilled family holiday with teenagers. Easy walk down through the Galley Bay estate to a very quiet resort beach (Galley Bay). Views are not done justice by photos, and setting on the hillside meant that there was a cooling breeze even at the hottest part of the day. Amazing services provided by the infamous Merle, who welcomed us like family. All amenities provided within the villa were as described, exceptionally clean and in good working order. Very helpful and friendly communications with owner prior to our trip. Would recommend highly.

We enjoyed a truly wonderful week at Villa Nicobar. The property itself is beautiful and very well equipped. The decor and design are of a very high standard. The views across to Fort Barrington are stunning and it would have been easy to never leave the poolside. From the second we made the booking Nigel was helpful and attentive in ensuring we had all the information we needed. At the villa itself Merle was on hand whenever we needed and made us feel incredibly welcome. We would come back to Nicobar in a heartbeat.

This villa is simply stunning. The view from the pool out over Deep Bay Beach is incredible. The rooms are lovely and the outside space is great for a large family or in our case, two families to holiday together. Merle, the housekeeper is so friendly and just wants to make sure you have a lovely time. Its very difficult to describe this as anything but perfect.

Cannot recommend Villa Nicobar enough. Antigua is just paradise but to stay there in Nigel’s villa was heaven. Our housekeeper Janell was so kind and considerate, our taxi driver Brenda helped us immeasurably and my lovely Haidresser TerryAnne ensured my hair stayed braided (and it still is 3 weeks later in the UK). The views from this property are beyond breath taking. Merle is amazing and was readily available to answer any question or concerns we had.

The property was wonderful and the view was stunning. There was such a nice breeze all week that we never had to turn on the AC. Everything you need can be found at the villa and it's only a fifteen minutes drive to the big grocery store. The beaches in the vicinity are all beautiful. The house was lovely, and the property manager was wonderful and always communicative. Will stay here again if available!

The property is situated on high elevation that has one of the best views on Antigua. The house layout is great for a large group, and Merle the housekeeper is amazing!

We really enjoyed our stay at Nicobar Villa , we are a couple ebbing top end of our fifties, we loved the Villa, beautiful views over Galley bay and being one of the higher villas rewards you with the best views, a car rental is a must and the rental company recommended by Nigel were very good, Merle the house keeper is fantastic , she showed us how to make a Christmas Drink from Sorrell which is delicious! Everything in the villa is comfortable and the space flows well for easy living, the only thing that was a little bit off putting was the local hotel and the noise coming up which at certain times was invasive, but that is just us at our age probably others would not mind favourite things , coffee on the terrace in the morning with wonderful views and the jacuzzi in the afternoon with a glass of bubbles...happy days

We rented this property for 4 weeks and absolutely loved it. The house is beautifully decorated and the view when you walk through the front door is breathtaking. The house is really spacious indoor and out and with us being a big group never felt overcrowded. Merle the housekeeper just can’t do enough for you and gave us loads of great tips on things to do and see also putting us in touch with a private dive guide. Deep bay beach is a short drive away and Galley Bay beach is a short walk, both spectacular. We just loved our time here so much and will definitely be back to Antigua next year! Cath

The house is very spacious with amazing views and everyone loved the pool. Nigel helped accommodate our original reservation due to Covid for this year. Merle is amazing , she is extremely welcoming and goes out of her way to help make your stay great. I would recommend you rent a car to get around.

Villa Nicobar is stunning with a view to die for! Merle, the housekeeper, 3 days a week, is a joy and so very helpful, you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble for this lovely lady. We had a very relaxing month. Two weeks as a couple, two weeks with adult children. We did have two evenings early on when it was difficult to get to sleep due to the live music from the hotel below but I sent them an email and the volume went down to very acceptable levels. I wouldn’t like to drive up to the villa as it is steep and, in places, narrow when work trucks are around but my husband and daughter had no qualms at all. We had a taste of the real Antigua with none of the restrictions of a hotel routine. Pool was too cold for us oldies, but we are wimps I admit. Would return in a heartbeat!

There is a fantastic view, great outdoor dining space, a well-equipped kitchen, a pool and hot tub, ample space for relaxing, and comfortable bedrooms with their own bathroom. The location in the hills overlooking Deep Bay beach will take your breath away. Galley Bay beach is a short walk down the hill. And, if you want to walk to Hawksbill beach, that is possible as well. It’s only 15 minutes from Galley Bay beach. Merle, the caretaker, is extremely friendly and helpful. She arranged for someone in our party to get a massage at the house and provided useful information regarding the public market in St. John’s and beaches on the island. Merle and her colleagues did a fantastic job tidying up during our week-long stay. If you plan to go the public market or the fish market across the street, early Saturday morning will give you the best opportunity for a good selection of fruits, vegetables, and seafood. The drive into St. John’s is easy, about 10-15 minutes. We highly recommend Villa Nicobar as a getaway from the hustle and bustle and daily life. It’s peaceful, stress relieving, and a great place to enjoy a vacation.

The house sits on a hillside and affords you the opportunity to see ships coming and going in the harbor. Home was well stocked with swim towels, regular towels, pots & pans, utensils etc... Beds are comfortable and the master bathroom is fabulous. A few downsides: When we were there the shrubs were a bit overgrown and you could not enjoy the view while in the pool. The hot tub was not working and there are multiple tiles missing from the pool and hot tub. There are air conditioners in the bedrooms and they worked well. Only 2 of 3 air conditioners worked in the main room of the house. There is a resort below the house and they do have parties on the beach. They play music and have an MC from about 5:30PM to 10PM. Its not horrible but the music does sometimes get a bit loud. Overall this is a beautiful home. I think if the shrubs had been cut back we would have been in awe of the view and maybe not have noticed all of the little maintenance items.

The villa has a fantastic location with stunning views. A very private patio area that allows for a relaxing lounge by the pool or indeed a swim after a hot sunbathing session. The pool is great and is lit at night - adding to the relaxed ambience. A hire car is a must and all amenities are approximately 15-20 mins away. We are seasoned Antigua visitors so we know the island well, so getting around was not an issue for us. Merle the Housekeeper is a lovely lady and very helpful. Antigua is renowned for mosquitoes but I have to say we did not encounter many at all at the villa - must be the elevation and gentle breeze - a great bonus! Air con at night in the bedrooms is recommended and the villa had this in hand and it was well utilised! We have a few small issues that we will let Nigel the Owner know about separately but overall we enjoyed our stay in Villa Nicobar - the best Villa we have stayed in on the Island so far.........

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Nicobar all nine of us enjoyed the pool, Lorenzo the chef and especially Merle the house keeper who was most helpful. We rented two cars and had rich and exciting driving experiences…. sampled local roadside cuisine, the Wadadli beer went down well on a hot day as did the English Harbour Rum… We all enjoyed the Sting Ray experience…. and Dinner at Jaquie O’s All In all a great time and a rare opportunity to get all of our family together in one place. The house was great with gorgeous views. It was very spacious for our party of 8! Merle the housekeeper was wonderful and was an added luxury to have someone come and clean during the week which many houses don't have included. We loved the easy access to galley beach and deep bay beach. We loved hiking near the house to some added gorgeous views. The hike up fort barrington was also great (super easy 10-15 min hike). All made up for a great trip.

Beautiful property. Stunning views. Total relaxation. Loved every minute. Merle the house keeper looked after us wonderfully and such a loveable person. Always pleased to see her. Hope to go back again sometime in the future.

Our stay at Villa Nicobar last week was outstanding. The house is fabulous, but what is even more stunning is the patio and pool overlooking Deep Bay. Sitting outside or lounging in the pool and hot tub while watching the boats was so relaxing. We had to force ourselves from the pool to go to the beaches and some touring around the island! Merle was fantastic. She was welcoming and charming and made a pleasant stay even more pleasant. She found a massage therapist to come to the house for massages on the patio - no trying to navigate back to the house after relaxing massages because we never had to leave. Nigel was so easy to deal with and made the rental process easy. 7 days was not long enough and we can’t wait until our next visit.

The views from the veranda are breathtakingly beautiful! We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and found the layout of the house to be very comfortable for our group. It was a nice stay. The only recommendation is that the overall description of the property is outdated and contains some information that is no longer accurate (for instance, the fruit garden that no longer exists).

Just returned last night from a week at Villa Nicobar. To begin, working with Nigel was an effortless experience and I would recommend his home to anyone looking. The views are exactly as the photos show, we spent much time in the pool or on the expansive deck watching the cruise ships and sailboats coming and going. The home was very clean and Merle the caretaker was quite helpful. She supplied us with a few groceries before we arrived and helped us arrange a chef for one evening. Our group was three couples and each had a large bedroom with en-suite bath and patio doors leading out to the pool deck.Wonderful time, I would highly recommend.

We stayed over Christmas with our family and enjoyed the home. It was incredibly spacious and comfortable, excellent outdoor lounging area, well appointed kitchen and baths, comfortable beds. The pool and hot tub were good. The housekeeper was very helpful and responsive as we needed things (the hot tub kept cooling off), but she got someone to the house to fix it.

Our weeklong stay with 9 adults was wonderful. The house is incredibly spacious and the view is even more breathtaking in person. The kitchen was well stocked to cook in which was great since we prefer to eat in. We also used the grill on many occasions. We did bring our own pantry staples (salt&pepper) since I had read in previous reviews that they were not provided. There was plenty of towels and even coolers to pack drinks and lunch to take to the many beaches we visited. The only downside was that the hot tub did not work which was something we all looked quite forward to since even on a tropical island pools tend to be too cold to swim in during the winter months. A wonderful luxurious accommodation that we wouldn’t hesitate to stay in again!

We had a lovely time at Villa Nicobar. A perfect set up for three couples with private sleeping quarters and a spacious kitchen and living area leading to a large outdoor patio, infinity pool perfect for dining, swimming, relaxing and drinking in the breathtaking views and charm of the island. The Villa is private but perfect proximity to downtown conveniences, local fish market, near to restaurants and small beach within walking distance. Merle, the housekeeper, is attentive, helpful and warm. Some of the house facilities could use a little maintenance/update, small fixes like replacing outdoor bulbs, updating the sound system and new linens. Overall our stay at Villa Nicobar was enjoyable and a wonderful introduction to Antigua.

We spent 9 nights here 6/28-7/7. The house is stunning and the views are amazing. Merle greeted us upon arrival and showed us the layout and how to work things. Everything was very clean and ready for guests. There was soap in the bathrooms and plenty of toilet paper (things you sometimes don't find in rental houses). There weren't paper towels, just an fyi if you stop for groceries. I do wish there were a few very basic staples in the kitchen, like salt & pepper, and maybe some olive oil for cooking/frying eggs. The kitchen was full of dishes and flatware, no worries there and a corkscrew ;). The pool and hot tub are amazing. We had some trouble figuring out what the timing schedule was on the hot tub, as it cycles through heating and times out, which is fine, but we couldn't figure out how to cycle it back on if we wanted to use it at a particular time and it was off. Merle showed us, but somehow we had issues with that. I'm sure that was something that could be more clear to others. We ended up eating several dinner meals at the Galley Bay resort in their main restaurant, Sea Grapes, it was really good food every night except the bbq buffet night, that wasn't our favorite. We spent most beach days at Hawksbill and ate lunch at that resort, food was basic, but good. We spent one morning at Jakie O's, lunch was nice, and one morning at Ana's on the Beach at Dickenson bay. We went over to English harbor one night for dinner. The driving on island, and we had a Jeep, was challenging. The roads are full of holes, and very narrow and rough, traffic is busy and it's very dark at night. We gave up driving very far at night, it was just too confusing and rough and if you take a wrong turn, you don't feel very safe on the streets. The last morning we ate lunch at Cecelia's. just past the airport, very good. She only has one menu, on a chalk board, and if you don't see anything on that you like, just ask, they have many more options. It was slow season on Antigua and except for the resorts where we had meals, we were one of 3-4 tables, we've been to the Caribbean many times in slow season, but this was definitely the 'deadest' island we've seen in June/early July. We had one of the people that the owner recommend come in and cook for us one night, and it didn't go well. We would definitely recommend this house, the location is a bit far from most things, but if you're in for the quiet and the view, it's amazing.
