Awesome!

I was amazed by this place. It has style! I spend much time just taking pictures of detailed interior and exterior. The awesome pool and the saloon on the property covered all our needs - fun for kids and good food and drinks for parents. Our room had a living room and bedroom, which was so convenient for our group. Other guests were so great and said it was their regular place to stay.

The owners have done a wonderful job restoring a vintage property. It was period-appropriate with modern updates (a beautiful pool, great A/C, Direct TV, etc). The breakfast provide was lovely, the restaurant (also restored by new owners) was fabulous, the grounds are impeccable, friendly staff…I can’t say enough.

I can’t really think of anything, but there are no elevators (at least in the main building in which I stayed) so that may be a concern for some people.

getaway with good friends. The hotel was awesome. We got a room w Japanese soaking pool... a plus

the Blue Wing saloon, contiguous to the Tallman. Poor service, Poorly prepared meal, steak that was 70 fat, and inedible. Pack your own lunch next time.

We'll be back!

We brought our electric assist bicycles with us, and did not want them to stay outside, loaded on our vehicle. Staff made accommodating our bikes in a secure location a priority, at no charge!

Really loved the staff and hotel but breakfast is a let down

everything was pretty and felt very cozy. the Ofuro tub was incredible, it fits two people with plenty of space. my tall husband was able to stretch out and really relax.

The breakfast is blah. better quality yogurt and having some fresh fruit would have been nice.

A little pricey. I would stay there again under the right circumstances, but would bring my own tp.

The location was nice. The room (upstairs) was very nice and clean, with a coffee maker/coffee/cups, and two wine glasses for any wine you may BRING, as well as the hair dryer in the bathroom. The bedding appeared very clean, and was very comfortable. The staff was helpful.

The included "breakfast" was fine if you're NOT a breakfast eater. If you're used to a "real" breakfast, you'll need to find a restaurant for your morning meal. I found the toilet paper in the room (single ply) woefully inadequate and was surprised that such a nice resort would skimp on something like toilet paper.

I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

Room was cute, quiet, comfortable! Steep flight of stairs to upper rooms . Could be worth the climb if you like balconies. Blue Wing restaurant has great patio and lots of tasty menu choices.

Would have liked a refrigerator in the room.

Unwilling to compromise

The hotel and accommodations were beautiful. Really enjoyed the Japanese soaking tub.

We called 1 week in advance to book brunch for 6 at the Blue Wing. We were told the they could accommodate us at 12:30. And nothing earlier. We were in town for a memorial service. On Sunday morning I called the front desk explaining the situation snd asked for a late checkout. I was told no, they don't do late check outs right now. My husband then when to the office and was again told no. It was over 100 and the clerk told my husband we could wait outside for 2 hours until our reservation. He asked if they could clean our room last to give us even a little more time that we wouldn't have to wait so long outside. Again we were told no. There must be some compromise. This is the 5 or 6 time we have stayed here and have stayed 5 nights over the last month. Very disappointed.

Wonderful time

Location was great. Right in the middle of Upper Lake

Stairs were very steep and no elevator. My fault. I should have inquired.

The lovely pathways of flowers led to an apartment like your grandma’s summer cottage.

One of the most comfortable nights sleep I’ve had in a long while.

We could not get the password for the internet. I left 2 requests and visited the office for it but the office closed at about 7 pm. No one is at the desk ! Was there an emergency or something to shut down the front desk?

Excellent hotel

My husband and I had an amazing stay at this charming boutique hotel. The lobby and the room are elegantly decorated and each room has an access to the balcony. Our room had a beautiful vintage clawfoot bathtub. The food at Blue Wing, the restaurant next door which is part of the hotel, was delicious and affordable . We will definitely come back.

There is not much to do in Upper Lake. However, if you drive a little farther 15-20 min there are interesting little towns like Kelseyville where you can do wine tasting or like Lakeport where you can rent jet skis or boats.
