It was super close to a beautiful lake and so quiet!
Not a lot of variety for breakfast

The food was good, and the staff was very friendly. We only stayed one night but we enjoyed out time. We would like to check out the cabins when they are in season. I would recommend this Inn.
We had ladybugs in our room. Now, this wouldn't sound like a problem as ladybugs are lucky and lovely little guys. Unfortunately, when you're sleeping and they are falling from the ceiling its just gross. Also, seeing any bug crawling on your ceiling is not what you want. Also, the TV was smaller than my computer monitor. We are not big TV people but its nice at the end of the day to catch up on news or find a movie.

very clean. restaurant and pub on site.
no mini fridge, sitting area, or desk in room due to being an inn, I’d assume.

Beautiful Inn and good location for visiting friends in Fitzwilliam. Full delicious breakfast and excellent service. All other staff were very friendly and professional.
Rude/curt woman at front desk, would not let us check in one hour early to empty hotel without charge nor offer to hold our bags. We just wanted to complete check in and drop off our bags so we could relax and go visit friends. Had already filled out paperwork and had to carry our bags back to the car and return later as we were not willing to pay extra $20 just to drop off our bags. Kept citing "that is our policy." Ok, at least offer to hold our bags? We travel frequently and have never been treated so rudely. Bad first impression for guests.

The end is in a spectacular location and the food is excellent. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
The room was on the small side, the hot water took a long time to come on, and there was no where to plug in the coffee maker.

Breakfast was good. Ate dinner at the restaurant. Food was great. Service was not but we understand the times we are in and the reason for lack of help. The room was clean. It was a nice place overall. We would go back. Staff were very nice.
Didn't have extra pillows and blankets. You pay good money and couldn't get those extra items.

The walls were a nice color. The bathroom sink was clean. There was a nightstand I was able to repurpose as a small table for eating my take-out dinner (since the restaurant was closed). They have a nice website.
Room was small, rather bare. No decent chair to sit in. Floor could’ve used carpet and it was not clean. TV was tiny with limited channels from which to choose. I had the distinct impression I was inconveniencing them when I asked for decaf coffee at breakfast.

Arrived on Labor Day about 8:00 pm and although desk was closed, key was waiting in an envelope (nice). Really nice to see the new paint color of the Inn and all the work being done. Especially addition of the outside decks.
Room 7: Pillow was small & a bit firm. Floors could have been a bit cleaner (felt grit when barefoot upon arrival). Door a bit 'sticky', so noisy to open & close. Felt the hallway & stairs carpet could be a bit cleaner.

We were there for a week and had a pleasant stay, spending most of our days by the lake. Probably two or three weddings took place. There was live music on Thursday and Friday, which was nice. None of the festivities disturbed us in our room. The Inn is in a rustic setting, surrounded by trees and a short walk to Lake Contoocook. Despite its remote location, the wifi was outstanding, which was needed because our cell phone service was weak to non-existent. There is a restaurant on site, which you should try once but the food was so-so. Excellent martini!
As someone who works at a hotel, I won't ding a place for things it cannot control, such as weather, the pandemic, aging infrastructure, etc. We were not pleased that our windows were covered with plastic in preparation for painting; however, in our entire week's stay, the painters were there only a few days and did not even work outside our room. We never got to look out of our second-floor window to take in the view. Our shower was next to useless. It is mounted seven feet up and is one of those light rain showers. If you soap up, be prepared for a lot of work to rinse off. The floors were creaky but they've tried to fix this problem; with a building this old that will be quite a task.

Good breakfast, nice outdoor patio
Several of my lights didn’t work, the room had no hand soap to wash my hands

I loved the location
We stayed in the cabin which was unplugged - we had no issue with that but, typically you would find a hairdryer and iron in the room. I think that if you have a microwave you should have a small fridge. We also needed a wine opener and front desk was closed at 7pm on Sunday - we found one at the outside bar and left in room. Also more coffee packets left in room for the min. Two night stay.

The food was excellent. Breakfast especially exceeded our expectations. The staff was incredibly helpful, courteous, and kind.
It would have been helpful if there were more brochures about the area - activities, things to do, etc.

Wonderful location great for taking a walk. The restaurant was great enjoyed the bar
The air conditioning was a little confusing. And there was some kind of a fundraiser going on in the restaurant and I could not get a reservation for dinner. Would suggest they just put a few spots aside for folks who are staying at the hotel.

Breakfast was soooo good. The staff and owner were so sweet. Can't wait to go back in the fall.

Bad customer service. They don’t know the difference between a pet and a service dog. Facilities are old and dirty. Thaw outside looks like hasn’t been painted in 30 years. Over all not good at all. Had to leave and find another hotel to stay.

On sundays the brunch is excellent!
