The location is beautiful and quiet. The horses were beautiful and looked super well cared for. There are a lot of neat things to do. The people are nice.
The website advertises it as a "resort". It's a dude ranch. I went with my daughter thinking we were gonna have a relaxing, spa weekend at a resort. It was not at all what we expected based on the website. The light outside of our room was left on, which was considerate, but that meant that the door was SWARMING with bugs. When we opened the door zillions of them flew in our room, so we had to sleep with all sorts of yucky critters. For nearly $400 a night, there really shouldn't be carpet in the rooms; that's not hygienic or updated.

Valerie Friend helped make my sons birthday special with a cake along with some of the other staff members - I have been here a few times in my lifetime always have loved it here - I even got the chance to meet Bob Cote many years ago and presented him with some designs which he used on the matchboxes - he was respectful and kind. Ty so much

Food was terrible overall. Limited selection and all rolls, breads, danish served refrigerator COLD. Service staff very nice.
Limited choices, food served cold that should have been warm. Cafeteria quality and overpriced. Hot tub was COLD.

The horse riding programs at this ranch is the most impressive on our tour. We are all new to horse riding but there are a number of programs that are at our level but challenging enough that made impression. There are also more advanced programs for people with more experience with horses. That will be next time for us. Also the staff are really nice and helpful with our schedule changes, especially John. That has made our stay much pleasant!

Looking out our rooms window was magical. Looking at a million Saguaros was very memorable. Room 36. Loved all tthe wildlife! Some havalenas were milling about outside our room at night. We saw a roadrunner catch and kill a small bird, pluck its feathers and eat it from 15' away. We walked right up on a snake on the road departing the Cowboy cookout.
We were not impressed with the food. I think some of it was covid.......poached eggs were way overcooked. The cowboy cookout's food had no seasoning. It was all very drab. The guitar playing singing cowboy was awesome!

Stayed here for five nights on a two-week road trip through AZ and NM. Had never been to Tucson before and wanted to be near the Saguaro NP. Tanque Verde checked off that wish but so much more! I had never been at a dude ranch and was ecstatic to have so many activities available there, even though I wound up not being able to partake because I did have to work during my stay. That said, I was able to do the Harmony with Horses activity and got two massages — and all were EXCELLENT. Since it was low season (read: very hot), the ranch was pretty empty, but I preferred that because it felt like having an entire ranch to myself.
I had a Roadrunner room, which directly faced the Saguaros. It was absolutely gorgeous. My room had two Queens and a sitting area where I did my work. The WIFI was excellent — the best I’ve ever experienced at a hotel. And the staff, especially Valerie, was extremely kind, funny and helpful.
I absolutely plan to go back, but next time when it’s a little cooler and when I don’t have to work so that I can partake in the morning cactus walk and the sunset ride, which I’ve heard are both amazing. If you’re hedging at all about booking, don’t. This place is AMAZING.
p.s. I did travel during the pandemic, and felt completely safe and comfortable with the safety measures in place.
I loved everything. Seriously.

Fantastic views. Charming and clean facilities. Welcoming Staff. It was a fun and relaxing weekend.
The indoor pool could use a little more upkeep later in the day.
