Room was newly remodeled, clean, comfortable beds. Staff was very friendly as well!
The only thing people may not like is that you do hear some traffic noise at night, but we were able to sleep just fine.

The view, close to the beach and stores. Good location...
No outside dumpters for trash. And people were still smoking even its a no smoking site.

Location, super clean, courteous staff-no frills
Exterior didn’t do the interior justice

Lovely hotel!
I stayed two nights in mid-May. Because I was waiting for my son to come home from deployment, I wanted a hotel close to the Camp Pendleton San Mateo gate. And, because I wouldn’t know until he actually landed somewhere what time he’d be showing up, I didn’t want to wander far from my hotel. So I was in the room a lot.
Check in was fast and easy, and the folks at the front desk were just as nice as could be.
I had a king room, which included a sleeper sofa and a gorgeous walk in shower!
The room was spotless. It included a small refrigerator with freezer, microwave, hair dryer, and a Keurig coffee maker!
The bed was wonderful. FOUR big soft pillows, a fluffy comforter, and pillow-top mattress.
The air conditioner was a bit loud, but it didn’t keep me from sleeping at all.
I would definitely stay here again!
As I like to include “heads up” things in my reviews, please note the following:
The hotel can charge a $100 deposit at check in.
El Camino Real is a major thoroughfare in San Clemente. That means a lot of traffic during the day and on into the evening. But it was pretty quiet from about 11pm to 6am. However, if you want to sleep early and have a street-facing room, it could be an issue. I didn’t have any trouble sleeping even when the traffic was going by.

Nothing!!
Staff was rude, no continental breakfast, the grounds were a wreck. No ice.

Room was clean, bed spreads had lots of cigarette burns, and the room needed some TLC, but it was all around pretty
clean.
Location was less than desirable, very loud because it is on PCH, air conditioner/fan wouldn't stay on for more than like 3 minutes at a time ... we checked in at 4pm, and they are using the "night window" that they opened 2 inches and talked to us as if we were dangerous people, or in a dangerous place. The parking in the "back" is extremely questionable and downright sketchy!

The hotel staff went above and beyond. We checked in VERY late and they were kind enough to stay up to wait for us until nearly midnight. Hotel Miramar was a great value and we had a good night sleep. The air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, and in-room coffee maker were much appreciated. The parking on site was ample and safe.

I did not like anything.

Hotel was nothing fancy, but the room was clean and had what we needed. Not a bad price for being so close to the beach.

I liked that it was easy and quick to get to my downtown destination and freeeway close by. Al so liked the the body moisturizer provided. Bagel place across the street had amazing lox. Other local surfer eateries and 7-11 nearby. I was also able to get to beach easily.
Coffee was horrible. (MacDonald's Keurige style) one of the half and half creamers was bad). Bed was only fair. The family who owned it were not friendly at all. Wife looked put out for requests.
