Location
The cat had its paw in the coffee pot when I went in to get coffee our bed in our room was so hard we could not sleep and physically hurt the next day. We are not out of shape people we are fit. This was very disappointing as we have stayed here before and really liked it this time I would never recommend it.

It is right next to the main strip in Julian, which is great. The parking cost is very cheap and worth it. The room was small but they are historical so this is expected. It was a clean room, but the wifi was weak so don't expect to stream. This is expected in the country area. It was well maintained room and there is a hotel cat outside named mr.paws. The staff was wonderful and friendly.

We were able to use the office area to eat our M/W meal.
The room we reserved was not available and we were not informed. However they gave us another room at a good price.

Room was comfy and clean and I love the antique furniture. Employees were kind, helpful and very friendly.
No breakfast is served. Could have danish in the lobby area to use that beautiful sitting area.

The staff were wonderful! They bent over backwards to accommodate us in our early arrival, adding a night because we were snowed in, in switching to our second room and even in allowing us to stay late the day of check out because of the snow and fog. They treated us the way they would want to be treated! Wow! The first room we were in was the extra large one, and was it huge! Bigger than any I've ever stayed in. There were plenty of pillows, the heating system was great, and the water was almost instantly warm or cold! Better than our house! It has a mini kitchenette, with a cute, retro, small fridge that actually had a separate freezer and fridge, a matching microwave on top, and a utility sink with side drawers and a cupboard underneath, plus the standard coffee maker. Very nice. A couple of other things we really liked are that the doors have deadbolts that can only be locked and unlocked from inside, very secure. It has a door to a little entry from the outside at one end and at the other end is the main door to the lodge hallway. Plus there are windows so you can see outside. The second room was a normal size for Julian. It was nice, as well, in similar ways. Both had Direct TV via large, flat screen TVs. The smaller room was upstairs and had one door to the main hallway, no other door to the outside.
These are minor things. I would recommend a coat rack and more hangers for the big room, and shelving for the bathroom so you have someplace to put your toiletries. I would also suggest that they reset the DirectTV on a regular basis, as both of them locked up. (We had to add a night and switched rooms). My husband knew how to do it, so we didn't mention it to them. Having said all that, I'm sure as they recover from the shut down, they will continually make upgrades. .

The location was great; walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. At night, we could see the beautiful stars in the hotel parking lot.
The room was kind dark and we could hear upstairs guest’s footsteps.

Enjoyed my stay at the lodge. Easy check in and out, cute lobby. The room was very comfortable and very clean, it was very cute too. It was central to all the shopping and dining. I would definitely recommend and stay here again. The only thing I would recommend is if it’s a special event like birthday or anniversary maybe acknowledge or leave a treat in room to make it extra special!

the location of the lodge was perfect ! it was walking distance in the beginning of the town so a full circle leads back to the lodge ! the staff was so kind and there were even adorable cats to welcome us ! our room wasn’t ready when we checked in a little early but the lobby area (which was so nicely heated ! ) had the sweet cats and board games to pass the time ! we stayed in a king room which was a great size and perfect for what we needed ! there was a microwave and fridge in our room and the bathroom included a shower cap, soap, conditioner, shampoo, face wash, lotion, a blow dryer, and even makeup remover wipes! it was an excellent stay ! 10/10 would recommend!
nothing!
