Nice hotel as far as aesthetics… leaves a bit to be desired

The pool is nice and family friendly. Rooms around the pool, be prepared to hear pool activity (parties and movies) until the pool closes; windows and walls are not exactly sound proof.

I thought “oh crap, I have a room near a delivery alley” when I heard periodic rumblings all night. But no, it was the crappy AC unit making awful starting and stopping sounds so loud it sounded like a semi truck. Worst night sleep I’ve had in a long time and I have 3 kids… Restaurant was really understaffed. Our server did his best, but clearly didn’t have enough help. Took forever just to order and the hostesses had to print the kids menus (they finally brought them after we already ordered). Food wasn’t exactly hot when it arrived. $6 for a coffee that was never refilled.

There are some sub standard rooms which I was given first up and had to complain before getting a better room.

Fun visit with grandchildren. They did not want to leave!

Excellent venue for stay with young children. Staff extremely friendly! Loved our wait staff person for breakfast (Juan).

Music around main pool is too loud. Perhaps an area where things are quieter? Many grandparents, as we are, could use a bit less loud!

Staying at the Hyatt Newporter for the 3-day Labor Day weekend was a perfect mini resort vacation.

The location, the landscape, the rooms with patios, the friendly and efficient staff, and the common areas and pools.

Location in newport beach

Room was a bit dingy, terrible view of parking cover overhang, can hear everything next door or down the hallway, thin doors, musty smell in hallways The high season rate didn't match up to the visit. We stay there often or with Hyatt properties.

Checking in staff needed to be more aware of locations of rooms. She gave us a map but was not clear about getting to our room from self parking.

Self Park The amount of people who said they would help bring luggage up from Self Park and never showed up Trying to get luggage up from parking with my 75 year old mom and 7 year old daughter Attitude of front desk attendee TV didn't work and they had to reboot the system, but the front desk person didn't believe me when I told her because she said know one else complained.

Just ok.

Walking distance to Balboa Island. King room with bay view was nice, however the room’s overall look was not as nice as I had expected from a Hyatt.

All the hallways smelled like someone was trying to mask a bad smell with lots of cleaner. Also, the place is currently under renovations which made it inconvenient to get around. I would have chosen a different location had I knew they were undergoing construction/renovations.

the room was not ready and after flaying for 25 hrs i and driving for 2 hrs i have to wait for another 2 hrs for the room to be ready with no hospitality wats so ever

There are better options for the money

Hotel is undergoing construction which was not disclosed when we booked. This would have been fine if the place wasn't in such bad shape. Honestly several of us stayed there from different companies. Most have stayed before and we all said we would never stay again. If your going to be under construction and not have the facilities up kept at least provide guests with a discount.

The first room was disaster, was next to the entrance door, every single person that shut the door it was so loud in our room. we ask to change the room and after two days we got new room. the parking is so far away from the hotel.

Exceptional

Just the overall feel of the facility and amenities. The hotel is nicely located behind back bay and close proximity to Fashion Island and Crystal cove. The staff are very accomodating. Great getaway for the family.

Great location and very friendly, helpful staff - but dated facilities.

location was awesome - near the beach and Boca

Initial room was very old and dated with HVAC system that stopped and started all night and sounded like an airline engine starting up. We were able to move to another room and it was much better.

It was quiet and we loved the bed and the deck looking onto the pool.

Manicured beautifully. Very clean.

The bathroom was on the small size. The bathroom door got in the way. Possible sliding door would be better.
