Leon is the most generous host. He'll gladly help you plan your way around. The house is spatious. It is close to Volcano Park.
Apart from the linen, everything is dirty. The smell is oppressive. The dog barks in the middle of the night.

Beautiful house that’s surrounded by nature
Very few areas weren’t as clean

Host was very nice. Spacious rooms, large kitchen with bottled drinking water. close to the volcano National park, grocery and restaurants.

It’s a sweet house, which could be, with a little TLC, made very comfortable. Leon is a nice host with good recommendations at hand.
The house has not been cleaned in quite a while. The place is very damp and there is no heat or A/C to dry it out. All of the fixtures are old and many don’t work. There is also a very sweet old dog, who is in bad need of a vet and is clearly very neglected.

Not too far from Volcano National Park
All the furniture was very old, carpets very, very dirty. I was afraid to use anything in the kitchen, even to make sandwiches on the counter. We paid for 2 nights and decided not to stay the second night due to how uncomfortable the filth made us. Not a nice place to stay.

California King bed was super comfy!
We wish that German Shephard's living quarters were not on the house porch. He is friendly, but leaves a trace of odor that does not blend well with the business nature of the property.

large house/ we booked one room for two but as there were no other guests we had it all to ourselves for the one night that we stayed !
it was down a road in the middle of nowhere in the Fern Forrest. so our GPS did not work when it was time to be notified to turn on the paved road. so missed the easy road and ended up driving a long distance on a hard diet road. All was well as I was with my boyfriend, but it would have been really a bit too isolated & scary if a location for one or two females traveling alone, in my opinion.

The owner is an old russian guy, who is nice.
The interior is weird, a bit messy. It does not look like the pictures, and the place is not clean, floors need washing. The window in the bathroom was fixed with old plastic bags...

Host gave us a lot of recommendations about where to go on the island. He basically planned our days, which was very helpful and nice. We enjoyed the sounds of the forest at night very much!
just bear in mind that the house is not very clean, I guess tropical humidity is not helping

The guard dog is super friendly and cute. The house is located in a jungle which is so close to nature and very beautiful. The other guests were from Europe and we had great chat.
The house smells moldy, especially downstairs. Did not take shower because the master room bathroom downstairs did not look good so we avoided using it.

This was just perfect accommodation, the room was big, well equipped, the owner was super helpful. The location is in the middle of the green forest, great area to relax and enjoy Hawaii. The national vulcanic park is super close and definitely worth to visit
nothing, it was just perfect

The property is in the forest and we had a whole floor to ourselves, large tv and Netflix available, we heard the Jamaican frogs at night lovely noise, these we were told would aid sleep, we had the best night sleep yet! Leon was fabulous, nothing too much trouble. Best check in, he took time to show us everything, even offered us coats as cold when viewing the volcano at night. Leon also showed us directions of route to take to airport and stops along the way which gave us experiences we would never have had. very accurate information provided by being a local.
hard to find but Leon always available on the phone for support anytime

Staff was very nice and helpful
Facilities were not clean. Smelly, dirty mini fridge in room. Dirty floors, dirty bathroom. House just needs overall updates. Didn’t exactly feel comfortable or safe while staying here - glad it was only for one night. Learned that pictures online are from at least 2 years ago - looks much different now. Disappointed with Booking.com for suggesting this place to begin with. Will be much more cautious with Booking if I ever use them again…

quiet secluded location close to the Volcano national park ; host’s hospitality

Seclude location about 20-min driving to the Volcano Visiting Center. The host is very kind and provides his advice for local attractions. The host is also very responsive to e-mails from his guests.
There are some stains in a number of places on carpet. Should have some deep cleaning or, better still. to be replaced with laminated floor for easy cleaning.

I loved that we were in a secluded place with a super friendly and informational host. Leon is helpful, caring and super lovely conversationalist.
