Spacious, comfortable room with a very nice bed/linens. The room was clean and well equipped. I could not get the TV to work which was not a major concern for me. The Cafe breakfast offered good options.
TV not working; unclear directions at check-in about how to get to our room.

The property itself is charming, well maintained and unique. Our Garden Room was comfortable, clean, had a nice patio and was separate from other buildings but it was close to the main pool, fire pit, patio and cafe.

The bed is comfortable
Expensive.
Cannot offer late check out.

Facilities were excellent.
The price seemed exorbitant, especially since my credit card was charged for "incidentals" which we did not use. They say we'll get a refund, but it seems that it would be more practical to charge for incidentals if or when they occur.

Great hotel. I was surprised just how proud everyone that works here is of working here.

La Casa Del Zorro is a stunning resort. I enjoyed visiting it on a whim with my husband and seven-year-old son. We booked a poolside queen room with two queen beds and a patio and were pleasantly surprised by the room's size, tasteful decor, and enormous bathroom. My son was thrilled with the direct access to the pool, spa, and bathtub.
The resort offers many fun activities, including giant chess, shuffleboard, horseshoe pits, and more. We only wished we had more time to take advantage of all that they had on offer. The gym was also exceptional, with three separate rooms: one with weights, another with treadmills, and a more open space for stretching and other similar activities.
On our last morning, we stopped by the cafe, which was stocked with delicious food and Starbucks drinks. We're planning our next visit and are excited to check out one of their casitas and try their restaurant. I highly recommend staying at La Casa Del Zorro!
We stayed in a room next to the ice machine, which made it somewhat noisy throughout the night. The noise was noticeable whenever other guests were getting ice or the machine made more. Although it wasn't a big issue, I plan to request a room farther away from the ice machine next time.

I didn’t have any breakfast
When I arrived I was starving ! So I got some food in the restaurant and I have to say, it was the worst meatloaf I have ever had! It was dry and tasteless! For the price I did not feel I got what I wanted! And come on a 22 $ salad??? Really!

The property was beautiful and well kept.
There was nothing I didn't like. It was a nice getaway from the city. If I had to complain, I would say the refrigerator was too small for anything such as "to go" food containers. It made it hard to put food away so it went bad.

Really cute lodging in the desert. Liked the pools and all the facilities. The gardens are lovely. Staff are friendly. We only stayed a night but wishes it was more as they have put so much effort into making this a great oasis in the desert with lots of stuff to do. Rooms were comfy and clean.
Very minor as we liked everything but the family pool had a neighbor on his balcony who spent a lot of time smoking. Also the hot tub looked as though a little maintenance on the lining was needed- it was however sparkly clean. A peloton bike or a concept2 rower would transform the gym.

Really beautiful property and grounds. Bathroom was very nice, with separate bathtub and shower. Comfortable bed. awesome access to pool right from patio. Overall, a highly-recommended experience when in Borrego Springs. Oh, and very friendly staff to top it all off!
Everything was honestly great!

The room was basic, but beautiful I particularly liked the yoga session with Paul and that the cafe seemed to offer legit Starbucks. Staff was scarce and used in multiple positions, but all were super nice. Had a facial with Josie and that was good!
Made reservations for the "sunset dinner" there was none. No special even though we reserved one and no sunset experience. There were multiple empty ice machines in 113 degree weather and a limited stocked cafe in regards to food. Timing is essential in getting fed what you want it seemed. I could only assume the off season of summer threw the experience off!

Loved everything!!!!! Absolutely the best, most caring and professional staff I’ve come across on my US travels. Everything and everyone was AMAZING! The lady at the bar was very quick to identify a solo traveller and put me at ease.
The maintenance guys adjusted my AC on request (the standard setting was too low for me).
Absolutely all reception and security personnel were top notch professionals! You can rent out a bike for free; there’s always free bottled water available… The pools are out of this world!
If it were up to me, I’d live there!
LOVED IT VERY VERY MUCH! Recommend!!!
Nothing to complain about. All was great!

Accommodations were excellent! We had a very clean, modern room with the most comfortable bed. Romi at front desk was a pleasure to deal with. Breakfast was soooo good!

The property is beautiful and huge. Love all the swimming pools, wish we had looked at the map more closely and realized how many pools there were. I would like to recommend Cesar for his friendliness and courteousness. Actually, I wish I had seen him on the morning of our departure to give him an extra tip !
I highly recommend this place . I would have bought some trinkets if you had sold them there such as magnets for the fridge etc.
1)There is a grassy area ( to play checkers) that is watered several times a day . It seemed almost sinful to spend so much water in the desert. Maybe the hotel can look for other alternatives.
2) I didn’t see any recycling of the trash. Since we bought some food outside of the hotel and brought it home to eat, we had styrofoam containers mixed with left over food and plastic and I felt so guilty about not being able to separate the trash into recyclable/ organic /trash
3) During a period of high wind, lots of leaves and dirt accumulated in front of the door and I wish there had been a broom for us to sweep it aside instead of tracking it into the house. Unnecessary work for the cleaning crew
4) There was no brush for the toilets
5) There was a microwave in the casita that we rented but no dishes or silverware.
6) I did not see any containers to dispose of the doggy bags after use
7) Maybe that is because you do not want to attract wildlife such as the coyotes ( I saw one ) but there are no trash cans anywhere for guests to throw trash. The hotel might want to include a comment about that for their guests

The bathrooms are not set up for disabled persons, which was a problem for me, but I managed

We stayed in a Casita with our own pool. We loved that. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The grounds were a great representation of desert life and living.
The limited hours of the extra services; ie the spa, gift store, etc. Some of the equipment was a little dated and in need of repair or replacement; or life size chess game

everything very clean and spacious rooms. excellent activities available, clean pools.
food choice’s limited if you want to stay on the property for all meals. cleaning products used in rooms had extremely strong smell on arrival and we needed to air room substantially to reduce the smell.

Staff was extremely friendly and personable. There was an issue with our reservation( on Booking.coms side), but the staff offered to find a room and even upgrade if needed at no additional cost. Issues was resolved quickly. Resort grounds are peaceful and has many amenities.
Food was great, but wait for it was long for lunch & dinner.

Perfect! Good breakfast, good lunch food and service, lovely staff, nice tennis and pickle ball center, nice pools, jacuzzi and seating, very nice big room and bathroom, fire pits for night, star theatre to star gaze, easy free parking, nice facility and grounds. Perfect getaway.

lovely staff, room nice.
the only breakfast available was the complementary continental breakfast and everything had a lot of sugar in it or it was wheat. We don't eat either one. Was expecting healthy alternatives like a plain yoghurt at least. the fruit was very good.
4.5 / 5.0
well maintained and beautifully landscaped
sometimes a bit confusing finding my way around especially in the dark
