The restaurant was delicious! The room was very nice, but the lighting was poor.
The lighting in the room. They should replace the carpet in the elevator it appears worn and dirty. Upon a closer look, it simply is terrible carpet. No amount of cleaning or vacuuming will fix the appearance.

It was centrally located in the city. PERFECT!
There were several electrical outlets didn’t work. To get ice, we had to be requested it because there is no ice machine our floor. The coffee machine was extremely noisy.

The location there’s plenty to do around the hotel. The restaurant and art gallery added some additional fun as well
You can’t smoke any where near it. You have to walk like 3 blocks.

Great location, room was lovely - quite spacious for a city room, nice size bathroom with walk in shower. We had a corner room
with great views of downtown Durham. Bed was comfortable and nespresso in the morning was a nice touch.
Several of the elevators were out of order which made it a bit tricky
at busy times. Doors close very loudly so if you are sensitive to sound you might hear the neighbors coming and going.

We loved our spacious room and really appreciated the kind gesture of the bottle of bubbly in honor of our anniversary.
We thought the museum component of the museum was very interesting but unfortunately did not have as much time as we would’ve liked to appreciate and explore the exhibit.
I got the impression from the online booking process that the room we reserved would have a bathtub, but did not to our surprise, which was a minor let down.
The front desk staff was welcoming and helpful and quick to offer bringing up ice, when I was having trouble finding some.
We had breakfast at Counting House the morning of our departure, and the food was quite good but the service felt mediocre as far as enthusiasm and professionalism.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but likely would try another location in Durham next time we’re in town. thanks for hearing our feedback. We certainly appreciate the creative concept behind this hotel.

Nothing to mention.

Location! Location! Location!
The hotel seemed rundown and dirty. The room was clean but the elevators, halls, and main area were looking a big neglected and poorly lite in some areas. The rooms were small. They were the square footage described, but we didn’t realize how unspacious that was. It was fine for a night but would be a bit crammed for a longer stay. Also for paying $400 for a night in a “luxury room” i would’ve hoped for at least a mini fridge. There was a minibar but it was stacked full so you couldn’t put anything in it.

Not as nice as it looks on the website. Very overpriced for the experience.

Everything I ate was perfect! I really enjoyed it.
I tried to order room service a couple of times, but no one ever picked up the phone. I ended up just going down to the restaurant, but it would have been nice to eat in my room and be able to get some work done.

My first time staying at this hotel and it was AMAZING. The rooms are MASSIVE, and everything is clean and taken care of. The bathroom showers are to die for. Truly a wonderful stay.
Parking. There is only street parking available unless you pay for valet or parking deck.

property was great
Hotel restaurant served us a 8 oz steak they sliced up before serving???? why??? It was supposed to be 20oz for $100! It came out cold and was terrible and didn’t offer any resolution. Very disappointed will never be back!

it was beautiful and clean.
We arrived at 6 PM to check in and was told that our room wasn’t ready although check in was at 4PM. Since I was checking in a guest, I asked the receptionist if I needed to be there when he returned and had her verify my debit card information. Upon his return, the room still wasn’t ready and they tried to require me to be there to sign him in and my debit information was incorrect. it seemed like the staff had no clue what was going on. I’ll never use this hotel again.

Vallet was cool, the surroundings and location of hotel
Wasn’t worth the price. Receptionist was okay nothing more than ok. Stayed because of Museum and the museum was kinda trash and the event happening caused us to miss out on one of the levels. Also the refrigerator was showing on but did not work. Also there was no microwave.

location was perfect for a show at DPAC. easy walk to dinner and a show. We were upgraded to a suite.. would be a great apartment, it as so big. Loved the bathroom with the black tile. Bed was comfy. Overall vibe is different than other hotels with unique art and historic vibe of old building. Felt like you were somewhere really different.
there was something a little cold about the hotel... maybe the fact it used to be an old bank(?) building... so doesn't have a big welcoming lobby feel. That's just nit picky tho. Overall a very cool hotel.
