Cozy hotel great for a relaxing trip

Welcoming and cozy, we greatly enjoyed our fireplace warmed room and spa bath features. Everyone we spoke to was friendly; they've built a great atmosphere.

Parking isn't great, but they work to make up for it by offering valet services.

A little disappointing for the price.

The location was great and the staff was friendly.

The carpet in the room was very dirty/stained, if it was clean it didn’t look it. They should stick to a cold breakfast, the “hot” food was totally cold. I’m assuming it was cooked at 7 AM, there was a light of sorts above it but it did nothing to keep it warm. If you can’t offer hot eggs, just leave it to a continental breakfast. The rest of the food was fine. It would be good to have caffeinated tea as an offering, not just herbal. I heard a few tea-drinkers comment on it.

Great staff, beautiful room but multiple electrical issues.

The staff were great. They were friendly and accomodating. The room was beautiful and comfortable leading to a good night's sleep. The breakfast was very tasty.

The television didn't work even after two calls to have it fixed and the jets in the bathtub didn't work either. For the price of the room, that was a big black mark.

The staff was amazing—but the location of the room, it’s size, and it very obviously not being soundproof was a huge let

The historic building has some really nice aspects, and the equipment in the bathroom is very nice (soaking tub and multi head shower).

The room was advertised as sound proof—however we could hear our own TV at a very low volume when standing down the hall. We also could hear our neighbors “vigorously celebrating” in their room, next to ours—could be heard in our own room and very, very loudly from the hallway. Very little privacy for a suite—and it’s just thirty feet from the check in desk on the first floor. The room was very, very small and dominated by the bed. It seemed like at the end of the day we were just paying for the accoutrements of the bathroom—rather than a suite. The bathroom itself, even with nice equipment was incredibly cramped and hard to relax in. (The toilet is incredibly close to the soaking tub—ie; if one person is soaking and one needs to use the facilities).

They make your fur kids feel right at home!

love how pet focused they are. they are an elite level of pet friendly. Our puppy Luna was having surgery and as we live on an island we needed a place to stay her first night post op just in case she had any issues. Luna was treated like royalty and I think she believes 16 Bay View is her second home. The staff treated her by name gave her snuggles and when she was afraid of the elevator moved us to a ground floor room so she didn't have to do the stairs after being spayed. We always travel with our pets and are grateful when we find pet friendly hotels Bay View has set a high bar for all others!

Soaker tub and location!

Both mornings the free breakfast was out of coffee and the eggs were cold! No staff around to tell. Buttt overall we enjoyed the simple free breakfast.

Absolutely fabulous hotel, shame they dont reserve some not pet friendly rooms.

The breakfast was amazing. The bar and staff fantastic. The best we have had in 2 weeks of travelling

Personally, not being an animal lover, the only down side to this hotel was it is pet friendly. Although they make every effort to clean, I could smell/tell dogs had previously been staying in the rooms.

Quiet and cozy New Years getaway.

We loved the central location of the hotel along with how cozy it felt. Our room felt like a small apartment, with the fireplace and bathroom being a standout for us.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about our stay at 16 Bay View.

Beautiful boutique style hotel in a perfect location,this hotel is lovely,it’s very clean,the rooms are gorgeous,the bed is very comfortable,there’s a fireplace in the room to keep you warm and cozy on those cold Maine nights…the shower and tub are both luxurious,love this place. And they have a delicious breakfast.

The hotel is in a good location. The service was fair. The amenities are basically not available.

Location.

First, how is a hotel guest not able to get a reservation on the rooftop. During our stay we were only lucky to get a cocktail after 8:00 PM (location closed at 9:00 PM). Second, bed is old and uncomfortable. Third the street noise at 1 AM is unacceptable. Fourth house keeping was unpredictable. We asked a housekeeper for water bottles which was like asking for to much. Fifth, parking was way to challenging. Sixth, we did not feel welcome by the staff.
