About this house rental
You can reach the house through the stone paved streets of the old town in 5 min distance from the port (150m stone street and 60 steps). It sits on the top of the hill of the old harbour. From the front porch you can see the sea, the town of Korissia, Vourkari and Ioulida the beautiful capital of the island climbed in the centre of Kea towards the north east. The house was built by stone about eighty years ago and it is restored with care so that it keeps the feeling of its old use. At the same time it provides all the comforts of a modern house and it is easy and relaxing to live in. Because of the thick stone walls and the traditionally made roof covered by soil the house is very well insulated and also it is very well ventilated with openings in the front and back. This makes a/c unnecessary during even the hottest days of summer. Nevertheless stand up fans are provided.
Kea's capital town Ioulida is one of the four ancient settlements of island (Ioulida, Korissia, Pisses, Karthea). Health centre, pharmacy banks and helicodrome operate on the island. There are traits of life and civilisation in Kea dating back to the pre-historic period and the Age of Bronze. In Ioulida's archaeological museum one can admire objects from pre-historic housing settlements, as well as distinguished collections from the archaic up to the Roman period.
Kea remains a quite , low profile, rugged island, with few tourists, and an abundance of pristine beaches, beautiful blue-green waters and ancient cobblestone marked foot-paths, bird-watching nature reserves, few hotels and mostly privately owned houses. Kea boasts known names of Greek and international jet-set business, law, science and art as it appeals to the discerning visitor who seeks tranquillity , authenticity and a genuinely Aegean environment.

Perfect!
Traditional with a modern flair we loved this house. Just make sure your legs are in shape as the climb can be a challenge, the view is worth it.

Merveilleux
On vit au rythme du port, on atteint
à pied Vourkari, charmant port de plaisance, la belle plage hélas trop fréquentée ( alors que toutes les autres sont quasi desertes).
Recommande chaleureusement !

Charming Cottage with View
Charming cottage with views in the port of Korissia, Kea
Everything you need is provided, we enjoyed using the barbecue at the side and sat outside for evening meals with views of the sea
Korissia has plenty of restaurants and bars and various shops including a bakery and small supermarket all near the house
Loved the island and discovering its many secluded beaches, some of which we had to ourselves! - we went end of May
Thanks for a lovely holiday

Great location, beautiful views, very comfortable, everything we wanted.
Great location - only a short walk from the ferry (upstairs but worth it), with fantastic views over the port.
Very comfortable - nice big rooms with 3 outside options; big bed and nice fridge and kitchen; and 2 ceiling fans that kept us cool even in 30+ degree temperatures.
Helpful host - we were very grateful for the help and advice we got from our hosts, especially when we had to make an emergency trip to the local medical centre.

Beautiful setting for a relaxing holiday
We had a really lovely week in Kea. The house is situated at the top of the village so everything you need is on the doorstep. The house has been lovingly restored with lots of original features that give it real character. It is very well equipped and was spotless when we arrived. The beautiful whitewashed terrace at the front of the house was a perfect spot to sit and read, eat our evening meal on the nights we stayed in or just sit and take in the beautiful view. When we arrived the steps up to the house were a challenge after a full day travelling but we quickly acclimatised and they are well worth the effort due to the views you get being situated so high up in the village.
The village of Kea was lovely, plenty of restaurants with good food and everyone was very friendly. The bus didn't seem to run all week but we managed to find taxis so that wasn't a problem. There is a very well stocked supermarket and at least two very good bakeries in the village.
Pagona, who looked after our booking couldn't have been friendlier and answered any questions I had within a few hours.
This house is perfect if you want a relaxing, peaceful holiday but it would also be perfect as a base for exploring the rest of the island. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends/family - thank you Pagona for a really lovely holiday.

Charming Greek house with wonderful views
We got on very well in the house with three patios. Each with wonderful views. The charming Greek house was fully equiped. We specially appreciated that there was a coffe maker.
The owners were very thoughtful and had seen to it that there was breakfast in the fridge. They had even brought up a few bottles of water.
The house is situated high in the charming village of Korissia. Very many stairs lead up to the house but the view is worth the effort.
We walked a lot during the week. Kea offers excellent hiking trails. There are several nice tavernas with very good food.
We already longing back to the little house on Kea!
Recommended!

Our favourite place in Greece !
This was our second time in this charming house !
Sometimes you are disappointed as it doesn't look exactly like in your memory. But we found it like when we left 2 years ago. Still nicely decorated/furnished and fully equiped. The kids (14, 12, 7) and the cat liked it too.
The location is perfect: within the harbour town of Korissia, nearby shops and tavernas - but far enough from the dock to be quiet too. The upper terrace with the bbq is a big plus and the view is outstanding. You don't even need a car if you want to relax. Bus and taxi station is nearby. Everything you need in the house (from hot water to washing machine and much more...) perfectly works and the mattresses are really comfortable.
Hara is a great owner, always available if necessary (by e-mail, phone or text message) and very accomodating (time of arrival, departure)
To make it short I would say we feel at home at Hara's . We will definitely come back again.
Thanks and see you next time !

Very Nice house with good service
Super séjour dans cette île grecque préservée du tourisme de masse. Un temps magnifique et de belles plages. La maison est très simple mais coquette. De multiples terrasses. Très bon accueil avec quelques produits de première nécessité dans le frigo.

delicious place tot stay
We had a lovely holiday at Kea in this traditional house. It's a romantic place looking over the bay. We stayed there with 3 boys (11, 15 and 18 years old). Just enough space for the five of us.
We loved the island en discovered that we had the best house in our most favourite spot. Lively because of the harbour and we felt at home at once.
We had a warm welcome when arriving by boat, with delicious deliveries in the fridge and fresh bread.
Every day we walked the few steps down to the shops and the sea. Travelling around by bus is easy. We met only really friendly people. We hope to come again sometime.

A lovely traditional island house
What a great place to stay and appreciate Kea. The house is quite old, made of stone and has been restored to keep a traditional feel. The main bedroom is possibly the best I have seen in a Greek island home - whitewashed stone walls and mood lighting combine to make it an amazing place to spend time in.
The house had been kindly stocked with food and various holiday essentials: wine, honey, pasteli from Kea (you really must try it), insect repellant, candles etc. The fact it is very close to the shops of Korissia is a big bonus as well. The only drawback is that it is the highest house in the village, which means climing up 60 or so stairs to get there! Not suitable for the disabled or the elderly, but it will get any other guests fit very quickly!
The property was clean and well maintained and service was friendly.
Kea has great beaches such as Koundouros and both Ioulis and Korissia have restaurants serving traditional Greek food. A hike to Karthea is a must, it is a magical location with ancient ruins and two splendid beaches.
With all this just a 2 hr journey from central Athens (car + ferry) you'd be mad not to go!
