good location
staff provided wrong info, and upgraded only one guest from the booking without letting us know due to ‘room shortage’
and wouldnt upgrade the other party. the would only offer to downgrade the previous party, which doesnt make sense if the reason for upgrade was room shortage

The location of the hotel was excellent. The public parking lot that we had to use, was within easy walking distance.
First of all, we were not aware that the hotel restaurant, as well as many other restaurants in the area - that they are closed on Mondays. The receptionist directed us to a choice of two places to eat, however arriving to the hotel to see all the chairs up, no bar or food available was disappointing. Also, it is unfortunate that no arrangements can be made with the public parking authority for accommodating guests of the hotel. We had to make sure we were out to feed the meter by 8 am. Finally, the elevators broke down, so that when we were leaving, we had to haul our luggage down four flights of stairs. Help would have been appreciated.

We were hoping for a friendly family hotel in an excellent location. Well, full marks for all of these.
Sorry, can't think of anything.

Great location, friendly staff, decent breakfast.
The water never really was hot! warmish showers not the best. Some rooms had no plugs to charge phones, or hidden.

Breakfast was very good, so was the location.
Fried eggs, roesti and bacon would have been great for breakfast ...

a wonderful last minute good value stay in the centre of Gstaad - 2 mins walk from train station

The location is the main advantage of this hotel. It lies on the Gstaad boulevard. This boulevard is like an authentic Swiss village street with lots of very expensive shops. Nothing too original. During the day it is very crowded but at night it is quit (end december). Restaurants in the area are nice, some very good but almost all are extremely expensive. (think 28 euro for a single starter). A nice skating ring is next to the hotel, as well as a public parking garage.
Breakfast was basic, not much fresh. It is an old hotel and you hear any noise in neighboring rooms. We never like double beds with two separate matrasses. The standard rooms are very small. You can just walk around the bed, but that's it.
All in all: I will not visit again. It was still a nice vacation but there are much better alternatives in the Alps.

Location is perfect. Restaurant at the hotel is delicious
I traveled with elders, Chose this hotel as they had elevator. Unfortunately, when I arrived I found that elevator didn't stop on the same floor as room, needed to carry luggage up and down the stairs to the room. Luckily, upon arrival we got help from the waiter in the restaurant downstairs, he helped us carried up luggage. No one at the hotel because it is the last opening day of the season. The rooms were so tiny made us feel uncomfortable. In the next morning, hot shower didn't work properly, I asked them to fix it but finally they said it's because government reduced electricity, they couldn't do anything and couldn't help, so be careful if you stay in this hotel during winter without hot shower is true nightmare. Upon checking out, I asked for help at reception to help us to carry luggage down from rooms to the stairs together, the receptionist agreed, I went back to prepared luggage and came back to reception again to meet her but she wasn't there. I met another receptionist, she denied to help and said that this was 3 stars hotel, she didn't have right to help, even I told her we traveled with heavy luggage and elders, if at least some kind help she could provide but the answer was no. Poor service indeed

The staff was very friendly and hospitable especially waiter Francesco . Excellent friendly service from him. His recommendations were great and we really enjoyed his personality
It was a bit loud at night while sleeping. We had the balcony on the 2 floor room 17. I wasn't expecting loud people in the streets. One night a large group stayed past the closing time till midnight and was very obnoxious drunk and loud. I think the restaurant should have cut them off and sent them away for the sleeping clients. They were not even staying at the hotel

Good breakfast and excellent coffee. Perfect situation on main promenade but still with a view of the mountains. Room simply but charmingly furnished in Swiss mountain chalet style
I would have liked a fridge and kettle and a small table for the balcony
