This has been of one the best stays we’ve had, ever! The host is so welcoming, gives you an exclusive feel and if requested loads of tips about the area. The apartment is awesome and includes all luxurious details you can think of. Great bonus is all the ways they try to limit environmental impact!
Nothing, everything was great!

The room is super clean, fresh and comfortable. It has a lot of great facilities! During the stay in at the craters edge, we felt the hospitality from the host Eric and Christopher, they were always so kind and so welcoming. We really enjoy this stay and thank you for providing such a great service!!
all things are good

gorgeous room and bath, fabulous lush landscaping. host attentive and responsive, wonderful snacks, beverages, coffee and banana bread provided.
rain on metal roof very loud, not good for light sleepers. white noise machine provided and ear plugs, but if you are a light sleeper, you should have your own set that you know work.

The owners were outstanding! Eric and Chris took several calls from us with many questions. They were able to help us plan our activities at Volcano National Park. The lodge was impeccably clean, simple snacks and fruit were provided and most home furnishings were available. The location is only a few miles from the park and about a mile from the town of Volcano, While it is close to these locations and others, there is still a remoteness about it. It truly exceeded our expectations and would highly recommend At The Crater's Edge to anyone! It was truly our pleasure meeting you both. Regards, Jonal and Michelle
Nothing, Everything met or exceeded our expectations.

Lovely place, lovely people!
The only criticism, from a British point of view, was
The lack of a cooked breakfast!

Beautiful, comfortable surroundings. SO close to Volcanoes National Park- just 7 min drive. Owners were knowledgeable and SO helpful.

Erik and Chris provided everything. No detail was too small. Basic food in the frig, coffee every morning, snacks for hiking, hot tub available, etc. and friendly host. And it is super close to the National Park.
No A/C which we didn’t need but it would help with humidity control. Definitely not a deal breaker since the room was lovely.

The seclusion and privacy is exceptional surrounded by a fern forest dotted with Orchid and antheridium’s . The hosts are exceptional

Unique location literally surrounded by a beautiful jungle close to Volcano National Park. The hosts have thought of every detail to make your stay comfortable and are immediate to respond as well as delighted to share information about their home and the Volcano area.
We loved the experience and the tastefully decorated, plush accommodations and the real jungle atmosphere which includes talkative birds during the night for which the hosts provide earplugs just in case…we didn’t.

From the moment we parked the spirit of Aloha greeted us. At The Crater’s Edge is a beautiful oasis, exceeding all expectations, with two amazing hosts who go above and beyond. The only way I could leave was the promise from my husband that we would come back.
We loved everything from the gorgeous view down to the smallest details of flowers placed on the pedestal glass plate that held the homemade delicious banana bread. There was nothing we did not like.

This was one of my favourite places on the Big Island. It exceeded expectations in all areas! The rooms were plush and comfortable. The hot tub was such a welcome addition after a long day hiking in the national park. There were thoughtful touches in the rooms such as the large selection of snacks, delicious local coffee and banana bread for slow mornings, or taking with you for a day exploring. Chris and Eric were absolutely WONDERFUL. They're kind, considerate, accessible and just great people. They're on hand for recommendations about the local area, and really go above and beyond to deliver a first-class experience including helping us with our laundry! I wish we had stayed here instead of the sub-par accommodation we had in Hilo and just used this as a base to explore the South of the Island. Next time!
Absolutely nothing. It was perfect.

Chris and Eric were excellent hosts. They greeted us when we arrived and went through everything we needed to know about our stay with them.
The room, the property and location were all amazing. We spent time in the hot tub, relaxing on the couches with cocktails and kept warm next to the fire. The room was incredibly neat and beautifully decorated. Chris and Eric had everything we needed to make our visit enjoyable. it was perfect for our anniversary. We were literally a mile from the entrance to volcano national park and about 30 minutes from Hilo. If you’re looking for a true Hawaiian getaway in a rainforest with nothing but you and nature and a volcano this is the place for you. It was incredibly relaxing.
We loved everything about the property. There are not a lot of options for food in the village of volcano. Many visitors to the park not staying in Volcano are looking for food as well. I would suggest researching restaurant options and reservations ahead of time.

I loved the feeling of privacy and yet also very communal. The heated floors in the bathroom were fantastic as well as the bidet and fabulous shower. We loved the floor-to-ceiling windows and waking up to the sunrise in the morning. We felt very safe here too.
Everything was wonderful! The only very minor thing I would have liked for a more extended stay is more counter space in the bathroom for my cosmetics and toiletries. But this is very minor and not something that hindered our experience.

They were so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The room was amazing, everything was thought out including snacks! They even helped with a request from a friend of ours to leave a bottle of wine from her for our honeymoon. Highly recommend staying here!
Absolutely nothing, it was perfect!

The Crater's Edge was my favorite booking.com property. Period. The best stay I've ever had.
The location was perfect for getting in and out of the park. The room was luxurious, with wine glasses in the bathroom and a big comfortable bed.
The hosts, Chris and Eric, went 100 extra miles to make our stay perfect.
From the fridge stocked with snacks and delicious locally made banana bread to great tips on which black sand beach we should see.
They thought through every detail, including things like providing earplugs if you are bothered by tropical rain.
With that attention and exceptional service, the place felt genuinely private. We did not see other guests or our hosts at all. It felt like we had the whole area in the middle of the beautiful rainforest to ourselves.
It's the most amazing romantic gateway spot I could ever imagine. If you are thinking about staying anywhere else - don't. Book this place right now. You won't regret it!
Not a thing. This place is as perfect as it gets. And it's coming from a very demanding customer who rarely compromises ;)

This place is amazing. I don’t write reviews unless a place is over the top excellent or abysmally awful. At The Craters Edge is one of the nicest places my husband and I have stayed. In the middle of a rainforest, down a dark and narrow road, I wondered “what have I gotten us into?” And then we arrived. Greeted by Eric, after welcoming texts from Chris, we were immediately charmed by the nature of the place. We were in the Haiku Garden room. They’ve thought of everything. From readily available umbrellas to earplugs and floor heaters, fresh banana bread and more fresh fruit than we could eat, we were met with convenience, luxury, cleanliness, and comfort. Don’t miss the experience of staying here! Oh yeah, two miles from Volcanoes NP entrance, and several very good restaurants!
There was nothing we didn't like!

This property, and the owners, were everything we could have hoped for. They were so hospitable. The room was beautiful and relaxing, and the bed unbelievably comfortable. They gave us tips for the area and provided some snacks to make our stay more comfortable. Would definitely come back here when we are in Hawaii next.

Very unique property, staff great, large king bed was perfect, clean with over the top amenities. Fruit, snacks, drinks, coffee press, hot tub, couldn’t be happier.
One flight of steps, no elevator. But staff was there to handle bags.

We loved everything about our stay at "The Craters Edge". Such a beautiful private retreat nestled within dense foliage and flowers. The room was welcoming and comfortable and came supplied generously with snacks, drinks, and daily coffee. Eric and Chris are the most gracious hosts imaginable filled with information and suggestions about what to do/see near Volcano and elsewhere on the Big Island. We enjoyed every opportunity we had to converse with them about all aspects of our stay and life in general! :)
We are so much looking forward to returning and spending time at The Craters Edge.
