It was spacious

I liked where the home is located. I like that the home was located in a gated community.
the home was not very clean. We saw lots of roaches. One bed in the basement was broken. One of the other bedrooms in the basement had a foul smell. the master bedroom bath faucets were broken. the overall smell in the house was musty.

The house was large and accommodated our party of 11 well enough. The location/neighborhood were very close to downtown Helen and surrounded by beautiful scenery.
Upon arrival, there were small roaches and piles of dust/trash that had been left. One of the deciding factors in our family staying at this location was the pool. It was not disclosed that there was not access to a pool for our dates. We would have chosen another home. Up until the day before we left we had no instructions on what to do with our trash.

Needs updating, many lights were inoperable, downstairs toilet leaks, the refrigerator filter needs changed and there were roaches and other bugs.

It is a beautiful home in a nice quiet area with plenty of room for the kids along with games and activities to keep them engaged.
it was not cleaned very well prior to our arrival. three beds did not have fitted or flat sheets and were not made up. it looked like they were stripped and then never made. It was also a little awkward having the host family’s pictures on the wall, especially in the master bedroom.

Vacasa who was in charge of setting up everything made me stop my travel at a gas station to fill out a form that I had already filled out two to three times before I left my home. This time I had to do it on my phone and, this cost me valuable travel time. Now let's start with getting there, GPS takes you to the back gate (you can't get in that way) or out. The roads and the driveway are steep, if there is ice or snow be very careful. Trash, well there is no place to put it if you are there more than a day. and when you call to find out there is no callback. So it was no surprise that we killed more than 5 cockroaches.

Live roaches in several rooms! One bath/shower drained slowly. By end of shower starting in two inches of water! Both hair dryers provided had problems. Living room very dark. Trying to figure out how to turn on lights in kitchen and living room was difficult! Furniture seemed to be randomly placed. Arriving after dark the house was difficult to find... address not clearly marked. Down stairs bathroom was awkward to use...sink too close to door when closed. Mirror and lights over mirror too low.

It was spacious. The kitchen was very nice.
The WiFi wouldn't work down stairs. One of the couches was sunk in. The bathroom door knob on the main floor was broken. The shower in the down stairs area would not work properly. The television in the upper bedroom was not working. The floors were not clean.. Some of the towels and wash clothes were dirty. The door in the kitchen leading out on the porch was very loose; need to be repaired. One of the twin beds were leaning. I tried reaching out; left message for someone to return call..no one ever call back. We should be compensated from some of the money because it was not what we expected and the things that was going wrong at the rental house.

The beds were comfortable. The cabin was private. We enjoyed the fire pit. We ate at the Valhalla resort and the food was quite good. This cabin would be good for a family with teenage children
The guard at the entrance gate was rude. The home was in poor repair and not very clean. It was also very dark inside the cabin. There was a deep hole filled with leaves directly beside the driveway turnaround. The outdoor steps and decks were covered in wet leaves and acorns and were quite dangerous to negotiate. There were so many stairs and not enough banisters inside the cabin. This is not for elderly or out of shape guest. It would be very difficult to travel by foot to or from Helen. We could not get the wifi to work.

A/C worked. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils. Many games provided, which was nice because it rained so much while we were there. Quite a distance from neighbors so didn't have to worry about disturbing them or vice-versa. Pool was nice once we realized which pool it was we could use. Only had maybe 30 min to use it before heavy rains started again.
3 of the beds were very uncomfortable. So many stairs! Cheap stools in kitchen, one broke causing the fall of family member. Kitchen faucet was hard to turn off. A/C was great upstairs but people downstairs were freezing. No place to put trash bag once filled, no additional bags provided.
