Wer etwas Besonderes sucht, der wird es hier finden!

Wunderschönes Schloss mit viel historischem Background, wunderschöner Ausblick, viele Wandermöglichkeiten direkt " am Haus" , individuell, geschmackvoll und originell und mit Bezug zum Ort eingerichtete Zimmer, sehr sauber, sehr ruhig. Hervorragendes und sehr liebevoll angerichtetes Frühstück mit Möglichkeit für individuelle Wünsche. Der Frühstückssaal ist ein Traum! Toller und sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service, alles sehr familiär geführt. Wenige Zimmer, dadurch ergibt sich eine sehr private Atmosphäre. Kleiner, aber feiner Saunabereich, den man bei rechtzeitiger Anmeldung komplett für sich alleine hat.

Wenn man überhaupt etwas zu kritisieren hätte, dann, daß es keinen Schrank oder keine Kommode, sondern nur eine Kleiderstange im Zimmer gab, Auch ein kleiner Schreibtisch wäre von Vorteil, allerdings gäbe es da wohl nicht genug Platz im Zimmer. Für einen längeren Aufenthalt somit etwas ungünstig. Aber das ist nur eine Kleinigkeit im Vergleich zu dem, was einem ansonsten Schönes geboten wird.

Helheten, varje detalj med hjärta o tanke om den bästa upplevelsen för sina gäster ! Verkliga ”proffs” förvaltar detta fantastiska slott för eftervärlden, en kulturgärning !

Ein besonderes Hotel mitten im Thüringer Wald

Ein sehr außergewöhnliches Hotel in einer historischen Burg/Schloß - die Inhaberin/Schloßherrin verwöhnt die Gäste mit einem wunderbaren Frühstück - ganz individuell und ganz ohne Buffet. Die Zimmer sind historisch eingerichtet, ohne auf die moderne Technik zu verzichten. Leider ist das Restaurand dauerhaft geschlossen.

Durch das geschlossene Restaurant ist man auf ein Auto angewiesen, da auch im Ort selbst keine Gastronomie mehr geöffnet hat.

Ein sehr besonderer Urlaub

Sehr nettes Personal, viele hilfreiche Tipps, eine wunderschöne Burg und nicht zuletzt eine traumhafte Winterlandschaft

Obwohl hier sehr gut geheizt wird, ist es im Winter doch recht kühl. Also warme Sachen mitnehmen. Ist eben eine historische Burg 🏰

Ein außergewöhnliches Hotel in einer geschichtsträchtigen Burg, das in alte Zeiten versetzt.

Der Aufenthalt in diesem Schlosshotel war ein besonderes Erlebnis. Das schöne Ambiente und die gute Ausstattung des Hotels und der Zimmer sowie die wunderschöne Aussicht und nicht zuletzt das leckere Frühstück, welches sehr ansprechend präsentiert wurde, verdienen großes Lob. Vielen Dank für die freundliche Gastlichkeit.

Leider ging aus der Hotelbeschreibubg nicht hervor, dass das Hotel für gehbehinderte Gäste und mit Gepäck über etliche Treppen nur schwer zugänglich ist. Hilfe wäre wünschenswert. Auch gab es leider keinen Restaurantbetrieb.

jederzeit gerne wieder

Frühstück war sehr lecker und sehr liebevoll zubereitet. Die Produkte waren größtenteils hausgemacht oder aus der Region, wirklich toll! Tolle Getränkeauswahl an der Bar, wunderschöner Saunabereich. Nespresso Maschine auf dem Zimmer. Handtücher haben frisch gewaschen gerochen und waren wirklich toll, hat man selten im Hotel.

Die Matratze war unbequem, eine Kuhle (durchgelegen) in der Mitte.

Außergewöhnliche Lage mit super Aussicht. Sehr schön eingerichtete Zimmer. Der Wellnessbereich ist sehr zu empfehlen. Liebevoll zubereitetes Frühstück

Wohnen auf einem Schloss, verwöhnt wie Prinzessin und Prinz von der Gastgeberin

Sensationelle Lage auf einer Burg/ einem Schloss. Nur 9 Zimmer schaffen eine private Atmosphäre. Die Chefin war stets sehr aufmerksam und und interessiert, dass es ihren Gästen gut geht.

Great experience staying in a castle. Lovely views and helpful staff. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful castle with lovely rooms and great breakfast. Secure parking inside the castle for our motorbike. Real ale brewed locally was excellent.

Lots of stairs, but it’s a castle. 😃

The castle is just a gorgeous building in a beautiful location on a hill overlooking a quaint town, valley and mountains. I really enjoyed the breakfast area where great care was taken to the finest little detail, including homemade breads and self dried hams in their cellars. The breakfast was delicious. The bed (mattress) was comfortable. Room was quite small, but alright.

I found it difficult to open the great big door…although this door does (from its looks) add to the authenticity of this beautiful old castle…

Perfect room and breakfast in an unexpected hotel

This was a fantastic unexpected stay. The location and character of the hotel are fascinating. The exterior may be old, but the rooms are fully renovated. Due to road closures, the host was most helpful in guiding us to the hotel. And breakfast was the best of our holiday.

Nothing relating to the hotel. But there were road closures in the town near the hotel. Please check with the host about the best route when approaching from the south.

Excellent service, great location, really nice breakfast

Bells chime throughout the night which can be difficult for light sleepers…closing the windows solves this problem but then the room can get warm in summer weather.

Awesome, but want to do more in the castle grounds.

The staff was very professional. The castle is beautiful, really a treat. The room was modern and well designed. The bed was awesome and the tv was great. Breakfast was served with a good options, but somewhat light.

The castle and grounds are amazing, but nobody or no resources to further explore the grounds. I wanted to hear about the history, explore the dungeon, see the brewery, hear about any ghosts, but essentially here is your room and a bunch of keys, good night. There is a tour once a week maybe. I wanted to really see and hear about the destination, but instead we went out and met a few locals that were walking the perimeter and they took us up the hill to the cold water spring. Was amazing meeting the people in the village.

One day in paradise

I was excited by medieval castle, which has been carefully upgraded into top class hotel. Reality absolutely exceeded my expectations, and, of course - I was surprised how carefully was receptionist. She showed me main parts of the castle.

Famous place, there wasn't nothing wrong. I will visit this place in the future once again.

We enjoyed our stay a lot. The hotel and the place are amazing. The personnel is super helpful and the breakfast was great. The rooms are very comfortable and have a very unique design. That was definitely one of the best places I have visited in Germany

Living and dining in a castle has a special charm.

Accommodation in a beautiful castle on a mountain. Very nice terrace in the inner courtyard, and great space for breakfast and dinner. The room is designed according to a motto. Price performance is good

The room (Bergmanns Kemenade) was too dark for our taste. You need 3 different keys to get into the room. (Lock on the castle gate, lock on the building, lock on the room). The bathroom is modern but very small. The shower leaks, so that after showering the bath ends with a large puddle of water. Breakfast is unfortunately not offered as a buffet. Much is offered packaged in plastic (e.g. jams). Plentiful supply on a tiered stand, unfortunately we didn't like a lot of it. (e.g. sausages) - Possibly corona-related.

Hotel in a beautiful old castle. Very friendly staff. Perfect breakfast. Restaurant closed but still possibility to order evening meal. Quiet place with beautiful views. Good place for visiting Thuringian Forest.

The place is a dream.

The castle seem to have come out of a movie set but it is all very real. Despite the beautiful atmosphere the staff have create, all around breathe the long history and tradition of the region. Wonderful place to start hiking just right behind the hotel.

Superb

Lovely old castle with comfortable (albeit small) rooms. Excellent reception. We arrived on a Tuesday, and even though the restaurant was closed we could have a nice salad and white wine in the castle courtyard. Great breakfast service. Pets more than welcome.

Stay at the edge of Thuringian Forest

Wonderful place. Real old castle but with all necessary amenities. Comfortable, quiet with a wonderful view. Very good breakfast. Very good restaurant.
