Hotel has a welcoming feel about it as you enter, with friendly helpful staff. The rooms are roomy and comfortable. A lovely pool area with bar. The restaurant food is excellent, with very attentive staff.
A few live insects in the room.

Location. Access to vision city mall. Comfortable beds and pillow. Great staff.
Reception staff were very accommodating; there was a booking mix up with the type of room. However, they sorted out pretty quickly and allowed us to check in earlier as we had two small children.

Buffet was great with the variety of fruits and vegetables. Bottomless coffee is a good deal. Omelette was nice though the chef was grumpy.
I ordered IRD for breakfast but what came what not what was written in the menu. Some items were missing.
I had poached egg that was supposed to have avocado on sour dough bread. Avocado was missing.

.room was great pool was good
Disappointed with the Green Cafe.
Club sandwich was dry and almost inedible.
Asked for a chocolate milkshake.
Took 30 minutes to make and came in a tall glass for a child. No chocolate syrup so I think the staff were confused.
Fish n Chips cold and not crispy batter

After some discussion, we were able to get free breakfasts to partially make up for the closed pool (see below). Other friends preferred to get a room upgrade. We are grateful to the hotel for this concession, but would still have preferred to have the use of the pool!
We particularly chose the Stanley because we had been told how lovely the infinity pool was. We were extremely disappointed to find that the pool was closed for renovation both before Christmas (when we arrived) and after New Year (our second pre-paid stay). We have been told that tiles had been falling off the pool walls for some time, due to shoddy initial construction, but the busiest time of year is not the best time to choose to close the pool.
Toiletries in our bathroom were not regularly replaced, neither was the coffee and powdered milk. By the way, the Hilton provides a miniature carton of milk in the fridge, which is what could be expected of a first-class hotel.

The service was amazing
There was no update to let me know that the facilities were under construction/ closed.

We had dinner at the Green Haus cafe and had the worst dining experience we’ve had in a while, especially if we are paying for a “fine dining” experience.
1. We were charged full price for a premium Cabernet Sauvignon even though we were served another bottle not listed on the menu and averaging $15;
2. We opted for grilled lamb and steak off the menu, which came out cold;
3. The steak was meant to be medium-rare but came out well done, and when returned it came out fridge cold on the centre despite a nice crust - it was inedible;
4. All the while the staff tried to force us to pick some salad from the buffet as complimentary however it’s not what we wanted, if we did we would have done so in the beginning. They even tried to make us accept a bowl of chips (that’s not listed on the menu or on the buffet), which was a bit insulting to say the least - for some context, we are out-of-towners and looked meh because of a full day of travelling and meetings;
5. Even the manager had no words after his staff stuffed up the same guest’s meal twice so was kind enough (and rightly so because it wasn’t eaten) to take the steak off the bill;
6. We asked to have the bill charged to the room and informed that we’d be taking up our concerns with management upon checkout the next morning - an hour later they called the room to say they didn’t charge for the wine.
Overall it was nice to get out of a small town and treat ourselves to some civility before going overseas however I guess we had set our expectations to high.
