The property is private, quiet, and the staff is amazing. It’s nice to be able to stay somewhere that’s been around for years. Little touches such as the salt water taffies beside the bed and the lavender spray on the pillows to help you sleep were cute touches. When I walked into the room, on the tv, they had a little fireplace theme with the sounds of crackling wood which was great!
The property could use some updating such as the windows need repairing, the bathroom towels had some hair already on them before use. The shower took several minutes to get hot. The bathroom could use some remodeling.

we loved everything about the property.
literally, there is nothing bad that we could say about the property. The only thing I would have to say negative. It is very scary taking a left out of the property.

Location is good for exploring cape cod although transport is required to reach Dennis beaches and car lots fill up early and quickly.
Room was comfortable, very cosy bed.
Outdoor seating, fire pit and lawn games the highlight.
The house is old and therefore there was a lot of noise from the floorboards above and doors opening/closing.

Very nice property, nice location, great staff. David was very attentive and welcomed us on our first night, serving us a limited selection in the bar. We met Tara, their mixologist, the next night. She was delightful.

Nice location at the Cape with historic charme
Small rooms which could do with some TLC (windows, aircon etc). General services are not at a standard where a property of that heritage and price level should be. One shouldn’t need to ask whether the room can be made. Breakfast should also consist of more that options of cookie, muffin, yogurt and overnight oats. Not having any laundry service is also disappointing

quite isolated with only one restaurant in walking distance

Jim the manager was very nice and the scones were delicious!
I like to sleep with fresh air in our room, but the windows are painted shut, wouldn't open.
I paid a hefty price for the room and felt some little amenities such as; a happy hour free glass of wine/ beer with crackers and cheese would've been appreciated.
moreA substantial breakfast with eggs would been really nice.
Check out at 10 am was a little early...Most places have check out at 11, especially on the weekend.

The outdoor patio, bar and bartender were lovely.
I would have liked a chair in my room

The location and the staff . The staff went out of the way to make us feel welcome

The staff here is lovely, but the photos are deceptive. I know it's an old property, which is supposed to be part of the charm, but the photos on this site made it look luxurious.... it is absolutely not.
A bit deceptive in the depction of this property on Booking.com. And it's incredibly expensive for what you get. Windows don't open (I understand it's old architecture, but I need air), bed sunk in, no bartender when it's advertised as a place to have "spirits," no room service unless you order 24 hours in advance, limited continental "breakfast." The staff is REALLY nice so I feel bad even writing a negative review, but I would have liked to know this information when booking it myself. It's not as it seems. It's great for what it is, I just wish it was advertised that way.

The back patio made for a great relaxing atmosphere.

The amenities were great and the outdoor seating area was very nice. The staff was very nice and offered excellent recommendations that made our trip unforgettable. I strongly recommend staying and I will certainly be back in the future.
The only thing I wish was different was that breakfast would have been included. They catered breakfast for an extra charge and gave great breakfast recommendations, but I wish our stay included breakfast as well.

Well located near beaches and good attractions to explore nearby. Staff very friendly. Town has a very "local" feel to it, even if it does not have an actual center and is more of a drive-through. Parnassus Book Service (magnificent historic bookstore) a short walk away), and Jack's Outback II (the most American breakfast, with more elaborate meals also) a 2 min drive from ChapterHouse.
We were mostly disappointed with the small size feel of the rooms, and the overall condition of the building in particular since it had been advertised these were recently renovated. It has less of a bed and breakfast feel at a historical location, than we thought it would. To be fair, pictures on the site do show smaller rooms also, which are the ones we used in the ancillary facility. Perhaps the lower ceilings generate that feel, and perhaps the rooms are larger / better in the main building. The rooms had very noisy air conditioning devices, which was problematic. Breakfast is very frugal (juice, coffee, muffins) - when you head to the beach once wants a good start.

The grounds and buildings were pleasant; the check-in process was smooth; parking was available. Location was good.
Decoration and comfort of the room (we were in room 200) were outdated and sub-par. The A/C unit was incredibly loud - unable to sleep with the unit on because of the noise and unable to sleep with the unit off because of the room temperature. No (daily) room service.
4.1
Yarmouth Port is very nice with excellent restaurants and cafes.
Overrated and overpriced. The small cottage next to the main house is located very close to another building. So rooms facing this building see the opposite wall directly in front of the window, only limited daylight. Also, the breakfast selection was very very limited and certainly not what you expect from a 4 star hotel.
