Instructions very clear and nice contact with Adriana.

We found the accommodation easily, whereby the provided pictures were a good help and Adriana made sure that everything was fine. The place was lovely and very quiet - we never slept as rewarding! Following the information received, we went on a beautiful hike through the forest near Lago deli.
We had a great stay and appreciate the hospitality!

Cozy accomodation, there are at least 2 routes up/down. The first time we had the "adventurous" route where there were really small and high angle mountain roads. Our Toyota Aygo didn't like that, at all ;) However, If you set your navigation to Epikure, you will see a road going up which also leads up to the accomodation, but much much easier road. Adriana, the housekeeper is a sweetheart!

Amazingly authentic in a most stunning area, loved it absolutely and the flat is very nice!

We had a really nice stay in Dumenza, a beautiful village in the mountains around Lago Maggiore. There a several really nice hiking trails passing Dumenza and the lake is quite close and reachable by bus several times a day (to Luino where you can take busses, ferries and trains to other places around the lake). In the village there is a shop. a cafe/bar and a Pizzeria. We really enjoyed being in Dumenza and would come again.
Only problem is the sofa bed, which is really uncomfortable. We ended up not using it and slept on the floor on sleeping mats we brought from home. We would recommend the owners to renew the sofa bed because otherwise, the flat is not really suitable for 4 people!

Angenehmer Aufenthalt in Dumenza. Ruhiger Ort, kleiner Supermarkt ums Eck (wo es alles gibt, was man braucht).

The house is a simple but cosy house and it is bigger than we thought, mainly the bedroom. The bed is confortable but the sofa-bed is not that good. The kitchen is well equipped and everything worked fine. Heating was necessary and it worked fine as well. There's a bit of a view to the lake and to the surrounding forests and the whole region is really quiet. It is a nice place to stay to visit the region of Lago Maggiore in Italy or the cities of the Swiss Italian canton: Lugano, Locarno, etc.

Nice enough
Pro's and cons:
Pro's first: good location, a short drive from Luino, a good sized lakeside town. You can take ferries from Luino all round the lake, including to the Borromean islands. You'll have to spend some time aquainting yourself with the ferry timetable and a map of the lake.
Nothing much goes on in Dumenza itself. There's a small supermarket that we didn't actually have to use, as we shopped out and about in the bigger towns. There is somewhere to get a coffee in the morning if you want to.
The apartment itself was ok.
The bedroom was good. Big comfortable bed, plenty of storage.
Nice views from the front windows.
The kitchen was sufficiently equipped.
Cons: there are 6 flights of stairs, 3 short & 3 longer as the apartment is at the top of the building.
There must be someone who lives in the apartment below, as one evening we were moving things around in the bedroom and someone started banging on the ceiling.
The shower needs a new head.
There was water in the bottom of the fridge, and it was iced up on the back.
On close inspection, the kitchen and bath were a little grubby, and everything, apart from the bedroom, looked tired and old. I had to clean the cupboard fronts myself. (obviously this is the housekeepers responsibility and not the owners, as I don't believe the owners live locally. We only met the housekeeper, who was pleasant enough, but really she was there, and gone.)
The worst thing of all, that very nearly ruined our whole stay, were the bells! If you want to sleep at all you have to close all the shutters and windows to dampen the sound. They literally ring loudly every half an hour, 24 hours a day. In fact it's more than that. Say it's midnight. So the bell rings 12 times. For some reason 1minute later, they ring 12 times again! Just in case you lost count the first time. At half past 12 they ring 12 times again with an extra higher pitched dong for the half hour. This routine NEVER STOPS. We didn't sleep the first 3 nights, as it was hot and we had the windows open. It was better with all the windows shut, but hot and stuffy.
Don't forget to bring towels, tea towels, washing up liquid, toilet rolls, soap, everything really as these are not provided.
I chose this property for location, price and the fact that it is self catering, as I can't eat out for health reasons.
The oven is a microwave so didn't actually use that.
Overall it was a pleasant experience as there's so much to do around the lake.

Escape in the mountains.
This property is in a really picturesque, quiet village surrounded by beautiful mountains. There is a huge lake 10 minutes drive away which we decided to walk to and from leading us through hills and forests. Milan is only an hour drive away and the Swiss border with it’s lakes, valleys and mountains 30-40 mins away. Loads of places around to enjoy excellent Italian food, coffee and drinks. We could not have picked a better location for our holiday. It met our needs perfectly and we found it easy to fill our week with great experiences and views.

Italian Village Life
We stayed at Casa Verdi for a week and had a super time. The apartment is clean and very comfortable, having everything we needed. There was a nice view from the lounge window and the village is delightful. The small supermarket at the end of the road had everything we needed and the staff were extremely patient and helpful. We had no problems parking. The village of Dumenza was quiet and very peaceful. We loved Luino which is about a 15 minute drive and it is well stocked with restaurants, cafes, ice-cream parlours and two 24 hour supermarkets. It is delightful to walk along the promenade at the side of the Lake in the early evening. Lake Maggiore is a wonderful holiday destination.

The house was larger than we expected (on the foto's it looked somehow smaller). It was very clean and cosy.
In the evening we'd like to open the windows in the livingroom and enjoy the view on the lake and the mountains with a glass of wine.
Luino is a small drive from Dumenza where you can eat, drink and walk through the market. There are also a lot of hiking area's. We did one hike from Dumenza to Monte Lema. It was a very hard climb of 1100 meters in 4 km. Next time we'll do the longer walk with a less steep route :) But it was worth it! Another tip is the monteviasco :).
all in all we enjoyed our two weeks there and would recommend everyone who's looking for a cheap but very nice appartment near lago maggiore!
Thanks!

lovely apartment
Really lovely apartment, we stayed for 2 weeks with 2 children and our dog. Dumenza is pretty and very close to Luino (amazing market every Wednesday). Meccagno has a great beach and again, not far from Dumenza. Lots of information sent to us by the owners and we used it well - thank you!
The apartment hasn't got a washing machine, but there is a launderette in Maccagno, so no problem even if you are staying with messy children.
We had an amazing time, loved the area and will definitely return!

Wonderful. Peaceful. Picturesque and very clean!

The apartment was adequate but a little tired.
The apartment in Dumenza was adequate but a little tired, it would have benefited from a lick of paint and a little more attention to detail, eg the picture hanging was atrocious, there were no tea towels, dish cloths, hair dryer, iron or ironing board, although it does state in the advertisement that tea towels and dish cloth was not included I do feel that the above mentioned equipment are essential in any holiday let, we did purchase an ironing board which we left in the apartment for the new guests, unfortunately for them we took are iron home, we also purchased wine glasses as there were only two in the apartment, that said the housekeeper was very welcoming and friendly, and Dumenza itself is a lovely little village. The information sent with the booking from the owners was very useful, with lots of tips on places to visit and things to do, we did them all and a little more. Overall we thought it was good value for money and had a wonderful holiday in the Italian Lakes and enjoyed are stay in Dumenza. With a little bit of TLC and the essential equipment this apartment could be a little gem.

Sehr günstig und ruhig
Kleines gemütliches Apartment im 3. Stock. TOP!!

Perfect Location
We thought that this was perfectly located. It was very easy for us to make walks around the lovely countryside. Anyone staying would enjoy it for a few minutes leisurely walk or longer hikes around the area. It was ideal for the relaxing holiday that we were looking for and we enjoyed all the views in this picturesque
location. We found the kitchen very good for our holiday with a full set of utensils. Everything supplied was to our liking. Overall we had a great stay and we will carry home pleasing memories of our holiday for a long time.

Very enjoyable
We enjoyed the space and cleanliness of the apartment. We spend some time relaxing and other days sightseeing. We enjoyed plenty of lovely views around the village. We would always look forward to returning in the future. The property was as good if not better than we had seen on the website. We enjoyed the lake, the mountians and everything the areas had to offer.

Good views and restaurants
We tried the two local restaurants which we thought we good and we could
then take a gentle stroll back to the flat in the evening. Even though
Dumenza is very close to Lake Maggiore it maybe useful to know that Lake
Come is only just over an hour's drive away. The drive down to the lake
from Dumenza has many breathtaking views.

Great Trips by foot and car
We loved the views from the apartment overlooking the mountain around Lake Maggiore. There were plenty of good walks around Dumenza as well as through Dumenza. It doesn't even take very long to walk to the Swiss border.
We made good use of our time and took trips around the whole area. The flat was in an old building which had lost of character, but all the furnishings were modern and comfortable.

very good stay in italy
We enjoyed staying in a proper apartment rather than a hotel which meant that we did not have to fight over the breakfast buffet. The supermarket was just around the corner and parking is easy.
The list of places to visit and thing to do given to us in advance in the areas was varied with something for everyone. The boat trips on the lake were great value. We were pleased that this was so close to both Lake Maggiore and Lake Lugano.
We found the televison useful in the morning for the weather but otherwise we did not use it much. There are plenty of recreational activities around the areas. It only rained a couple of times and not for long, the reast of the time the weather was fine.
The booking operated well with the owners and the housekeeper/cleaner on arrival. Should we want to visit the Italian lakes again we will definitely book this apartment.

spacious, well located
The apartment is spacious, well equipped and all the equipment was good working order. The welcome by the by the house keeping couple was friendly. There were small simpathetic touches with the furnishings that we liked. It will probably not be our last stay at the apartment.
We were pleased that it was centrally located and close to shopping and attractions. Can we absolutely recommend to anyone. From day one we felt very much at home. We certainly were not disappointed with our stay.

Brilliant lots to with beautiful surroundings.
I have been meaning to e-mail you to say what a great holiday we had!
Everything was wonderful, the apartment, location and amenities. We visited quite a few places, bearing in mind we had a 9 month old, we particularly liked C a nnobio and the cable car at Laveno.
I would certainly recommend your apartment to family and friends. Also one year we may be interested in your other apartments.
Once again thanks so much for all the useful information you sent us and a wonderful holiday!

We love Dumenza
We fell in love with Dumenza and the flat as soon as we arrived. The property was comfortable and it had everything we required for our stay. We love the views of the mountains around Lake Maggiore and the genuine Italian atmosphere of the village was a bonus. We are booking another stay in the summer.

excellent
We thought the property was tastefully decorated. The kitchen is very good, everything is clean and we felt at home. It was an excellent apartment. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the mountain views. It was very comfortable for our stay. Everything was neat and clean. Dumenza is a wonderful place for a holiday and we are looking forward to another visit. There is a lot to see around Lake Maggiore. In the late afternoon we enjoyed a bottle of wine looking at the view. The house is well located in the village and very nice, quiet and yet in the village centre with the lake a few short minutes away."

What we liked most about the apartment was it felt like part of the local community, amongst Italian families, rather than a touristy holiday apartment. The apartment was a great size, with plenty of room for our baby's cot too in the bedroom. The kitchen was modern and well-equipped. Overall it was very comfortable and homely. Gabriella the housekeeper was brilliant and very helpful. The area lots to do and see within an hour's drive in different directions, so great to use as a base for day trips. The scenery was beautiful and the climate lovely (September). The owners gave great recommendations for things to do, we did a lot of them: Borromean Islands - a lovely boat trip; Maccagno - very close and beautiful views; Luino Market - a great buzz and loads of stalls (although all a bit similar after a while); Lake Como - Menaggio - nice town; Laveno - beautiful views and handy for the ferry to the other side of the lake (cable car like scary tin cans, but magnificent view from top); Santa Caterina - beautiful; Colmegna - very pretty and nice views; Lake Lugano & Lugano - gorgeous views and a lovely city (if rather expensive!); Zoo Magliaso - our wee boy loved it. Lots of interesting animals; Bellinzona - nice town, castles very impressive; Caslano - lovely spot for some lunch and a stroll; Cannobio - lovely for a day out across the water. We would definitely recommend this property. We had a fantastic fortnight and really felt like we had experienced the true Italy."

The property is spacious with a large kitchen for the size of the apartment. It is very comfortable. We found our Italian dictionary useful in the local supermarket. View is amazing across the village and mountains. You can see part of the lake. We found the apartment easily accessible by car. Lake Maggiore is a very enjoyable area for a holiday. We did plenty of walking around Dumenza as the weather was just right.

All in all we thoroughly loved it.

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay in Dumenza. The visit to Connobio is well worth the trip across the lake for about 6euros return. We remember the walks especially the one from Connobio rising to Campeglio where the views were spectacular and well worth the climb. It starts from the north side of the bridge opposite the waterside camping sites before the bend in the road.

We found this self catering ideal for our short stay near Lake Maggiore in Italy and we would recommend it even in the winter. we have a very enjoyable time even though it was still winter. Dumenza is an ideal location for a mountain holiday becuase it is close to both Lake Maggiore and Lake Lugano. The property was walking distance from the local supermarket. There were great views of the snow capped mountains. One afternoon we got our walking boots on an walked through would to the Swiss border. It was very handy having satellite TV in the evenings
