very friendly and helpful staff. location is perfect. pool was also nice. we had an excellent stay. breakfast next to the hotel was really delicious.
the sliding door to the terrace was old and hard to open/close. one bed was a bit hard for the kids to sleep on.
10.0
I liked the fact that there was cooking facilities and a fridge in what was really an apartment. Leila looked after the reception brilliantly and was able to sort out all my issues. Being so central the place is great for getting around.
Having to hire pool foams for the loungers was a nuisance.

The swimming pool was TOP!!! Definitely the best part. The staff were really nice and there was always security around looking out for us.
- The bath had no pressure.
- The room (+bathroom) was not that clean.
- The bathtub was small.
- They did not give us shampoo.
- BE CAREFUL when you book because THE PICTURES ARE A LOT DIFFERENT FROM REALITY.

The location is perfect and the pool and the beach area! We were so pleased. We didn't except it to be so perfect. The price was very good, location great, the atmosphere is perfect and there are actually equipment to cook food (and a coffee machine). Supermarkets are around the corner, beach is right infront of the room and there were always free sundbeds at the beach or by the pool.
It was great.
The bathroom were little outdated, but it didn't bother us. Shower worked well and everything was clean and worked.

The location is great. Lots of restaurants around. The reception was very helpful. The swimming pool is great, with cute cats! Sadly some guests selfishly reserved sun loungers with their towels and disappeared, leaving few for the rest.
We had an internal room overlooking the street, which was quite disappointing, but the worst thing about it was the mosquitoes. There were tons of them in the flat in the night, I don't know how. We covered all the possible holes and even then they still entered. Sleeping during the night was a nightmare until we asked for an electric fan.

amazing pool, big two-floor apartment, delicious breakfast and easy access to the beach. The staff was nice and helpful
There were mosquitoes in the room after short window open and the pillows were too thin to me, so it was hard to sleep, but daytime was good

We have been to CV before and Porto Antigo always looked like it had potential for a stay. We were right. Location couldn't have been better. Room was perfect for what we needed.
Only one thing the area could have added were parasols around the pool.

Perfect location, great 2 bed well furnished apartment with lots of space. Good restaurant and really nice staff. Fantastic beach front pool. .
One small ask. Get some pool umbrellas, there's no shade.

Beds/mattresses really uncomfortuble.........

Close to both center and beach, area around Porto Antigo is very beautiful. Size of the room was good, big wardrobe, kitchen with the things you need, comfortable bed and big outside balcony.
As the rooms were in such good condition and furniture I would expected a bit more of the bathroom, it was big but dated. Specially the shower, bad pressure in the tap which made it very hard to take a shower and be able to wash your hair, the shower area also clogged immediately when taking a shower. Big minus is that the key for the electric wasn’t removable from the key that closes the door which means that you can’t leave your phone on charge and the fridge will turn off when your not in the room. We had a balcony facing a street so it was a bit busy with traffic.

The room was great, kept clean and refreshed. The pool was also excellent and very clean. The location was perfect in Santa Maria.
All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we felt very welcome for our entire stay.
Nothing to add here, really couldn't fault our accommodation, surroundings and hospitality.

The pool are was beautiful and just off the beach
On arrival my apartment didnt have any gas, the air conditioning was broken, the bathroom window was broken, no mosquito screens at door or window and kitchen lacked some utensils. It took 2 days to get gas (not ideal when I booked an apartment to cook), eventually they provided a fan for the room

Great Stay, very nice and very accommodating people. Perfect location in Santa Maria

the location is nice, close to the restaurants and shops of Santa Maria.
Great pool, but during Christmas holidays not enough sofa beds for everyone. you can lay in the sand on the private beach.
The person (Alan, if I remember well) at the reception did his best to help but could unfortunately not create miracles and improve the level of the rooms.
The first night the hotel was overbooked and we were brought to a very depressing, old apartment of Porto Antigo II, which was a huge contrast with the fantastic, fully equipped oceanfront apartment 4 of that same Porto Antigo II (privately owned by a Belgian) where we stayed 11 days before coming here. The sofa bed was missing wood boards, the entrance door was not easy to open, the air conditioning and gas bottle standing on the terrace was so rusted that we didn’t dare to cook. The kitchen was anyway not even basic equipped with a pan, cutlery etc. In the end we receive another old-fashioned appartement around 23.30 hrs but at least the sofa bed was not broken.
To compensate we received the next day a better two-bed room apartment while we paid for a one bed-room apartment. It was better but not at all looking at the pictures of the modern, white apartment showed on Booking.com.
When taking a shower the old curtain was not enough so the water spread from the bathroom to the hall and bedroom. Again we didn’t cook since the pan and cooking pot did’t look good.

- Porto Antigo II (2) does not have a beach right next to it, but it is within 3-5 mins walk (by the beach) to the best beach on the island. By the best I mean transparent water, white-ish sands and plenty of cafes within 50 meters of the beach itself
- the staff at the reception were helpful during every interaction I've had with them
- the studio apartment was a nice size with a terrace (apartment 20)
- I was given an iron, espresso coffee maker and kettle on request
- the booking.com page made it look like there is an option to purchase breakfast, lunch and dinner at a specific price which I was told at the reception is not the case. I went to the Porto Antigo restaurant a few time and had to purchase my meals for the price stated in the menu (no special discounts for the guests of the hotel were offered)
- the walls seem to have had mould before so the top of the coating was removed in a few awkward places and not painted over again (looked slightly unpleasant, to say the least)
- from the booking.com page, it looked like there is a beach right at the hotel which is not true for Porto Antigo II ie Porto Antigo BB
- the apartment was quite worn out and sometimes it was reallyy inconvenient when the towels were changed only once every 3 day
- the towels need to be replaced, some of them were very, very small and worn out
- there was not much view from the terrace, I have a corner apartment (number 20) - I don't recommend it
- the staff were passing by my window every 15 minutes: cleaners, security and gardeners - felt like I was in an aquarium, although everyone was friendly but still slightly disturbing
- the bathroom window was facing the stars - often staff were gathering nearby that window and a few times it got very loud early in the morning
- kitchen utensils were mostly unusable and there was no frying pan at all

This place was exactly what I was looking for. The hotel is made up of a numebr of smaller buidlings, with a lot of greenery and flowers all around. The pool is excellent with plenty of chairs, a number of small, private beach areas with one right in the old port (the "porto antigo"!), very good breakfast, and an excellent central location for the bars and restaurants.

I liked the quietness in the area, the gardens surrounded the area and that my parents could swim and bath easily in the lagoon without heavy wanes. The staff was kind and helpful.
Stayed in an apartment closer to reconstruction so during daytime or was a bit noisy, although I never really stayed in the apartment during daytime. During nighttime I slept very well!
