Fabulous 6-night stay. Louise was a fantastic host; great communication, met us on arrival for tour of the house (also very kindly left us nice bottle of wine, crisps and a large carrot cake from the local bakery on the dining table, as well as fresh milk and eggs in the fridge!).
Beautifully renovated house, tastefully and comfortably furnished, warm and cozy. Kitchen very well stocked with good quality pans, cooking utensils and SHARP knives!!!! She had supplied tea, coffee (instant and coffee pods for the Nespresso machine, as well as a milk frother), sugar, hot chocolate (even marshmallows), as well as salt/pepper grinders and olive oil. Washing machine and dishwasher (powder/tabs supplied), huge fridge and reasonably sized freezer. 4 slice toaster and great oven/grill/induction hob.
Living room was very cozy with comfy sofa and chairs in front of a wood fired stove - Louise supplied kindling and logs for the fire (we bought extra at Co-op as we had fire going every night). The hallway by the stairs was well stocked with books, board games and children's book/toys.
Bathroom had a shower (powerful stream) and a roll-top bath - hot water was instant and plentiful. Master bedroom was absolutely stunning with big Georgian window and exposed beams. Comfy double bed but bit short for my 6'2" partner. 3 very low beams in house that needed to duck under (I'm 5'9) and definite pitch to upstairs floorboards but got used to it quickly.
Would love to stay again!

A beautiful house with so much character and warmth. We had cosy a wood burner to look forward to in the evenings. Perfect location for access to rural dog walks. Lovely dog friendly pub opposite. Everything we needed and more. Would have loved to have stayed longer. Thank you Louise who was a lovely host and with a yummy ginger cake from the local bakery to welcome us.

My family (4 adults & 2 dogs) stayed at Bank House 15-19 April 23 & had THE most amazing time. We met Louise at her lovely shop Mongers & she showed us round & gave us the keys.. She had kindly left a lovely cake, eggs, milk etc to start us off & every possible permutation of beverage on the shelves!
The cottage has period charm by the bucket load & left us all wanting to live there permanently. Every beam, floorboard (beautifully creaking every time you tried to sneak to the toilet in the night š) fireplace & accessory were gorgeous & all in keeping with the age of the property. The beds were so comfortable & all the bed linen & towels were lovely quality.
We had 2 doggies with us which had a nice box of treats left & who both enjoyed the beautiful garden, which was totally secure & nice to sit with a glass of wine & enjoy the peace & quite - as well as having a lovely chat at the gate with Louise who funnily enough also had a glass of wine!
The village was small but had everything you need really close by, the White Heart opposite did a great Sunday roast in the evening & The Hingham Fish & Chip was a minute walk & did one of the best pizzas Iāve ever had. Co Op was a 5 minute walk away & local shop 1 minute.
Do give the Community Art Centre a visit, any profits support the local village which is lovely.
We did the English Whisky Distillery tour which was so interesting & full of lovely staff who are so passionate about what they make - turned my mum off gin & on to whisky lol Also went to Horning & went on The Southern Comfort paddle boat for a 90 minute trip up the Broads which was Ā£10 very well spent & a great lunch in The Swan.
We had a wonderful trip & so enjoyed staying at Louiseās truly magical home. I canāt recommend Bank House highly enough, we all fell a little bit in love with the place & were very sad to go home.
Thank you so much Louise ā¤ļø

Period Property in Attractive Village
Very enjoyable experience staying in a renovated cottage in a delightful village.
Host provided excellent communication and comprehensive facilities in the kitchen and elsewhere. Made to feel welcome.
Fascinating history of reclamation and renovation and a very comfortable stay.

Exquisite, hidden gem in Hingham, Norfolk.
The whole experience was superb at this exquisite, spotlessly clean hideaway, steeped in history. Comfortable beds, white linen, luxury toiletries, powerful shower, beautiful garden, delicious welcome cake and everything else you could possibly need or want within a five minute walk. Oh, and a radio in every room! What's not to love?
Louise is a wonderful hostess for whom nothing is too much trouble. I was accompanied by my cat who also had a purrfectly lazy time sleeping amongst the lush foliage in the garden, oblivious to everything. Thank you Louise for a truly memorable stay. XXX

A wonderful oasis
We have just returned from a very relaxing break at Bank House. It had everything we needed and more. Nicely tucked away with all the wonderful quirky charm that comes with a house that is over 500 years old but thanks to being insulated was wonderfully warm and cosy on the cool summer nights. Beautifully and thoughtfully decorated it was a lovely place to return to after days out exploring Norfolk. Our boys (aged 4 and 8) particularly loved the studio - the rocking horse was a firm favourite.

Beautiful house - wonderful location
I enjoyed a long weekend away at this property with my partner and 2 small children.
Louise greeted us when we arrived and couldnāt have been more welcoming!
The house is absolutely beautiful, it has so much character and we all loved staying there.
There is a small out house with a rocking horse and dolls house which both my girls loved playing in.
There is a great pub just across the road where we all enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch.
Louise was always more then helpful with anything we needed and gave us great tips on where to visit along with helping us out with a few items we had forgot!
Would definitely stay again.

A fairytale cottage
My wife and I picked this cottage because of its period looks and character. It did not fall to impress, had character by the bucket , very well furnished and very well dressed. Absolutely loved my stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone . I would speak of the host in the same regard ,very professional, friendly and helpful. Set in a lovely little village with good amenities and only 30 mins to Thetford forest and 60 mins from the nort Norfolk coast which both are definitely recommended to visit. In one sentence this was one of my best holidays in a long time , thank you

Lovely and historic cottage
Beautifully restored 15th century cottage, full of character, spacious and ideally situated to explore Norfolk. The cottage, whilst being located in the centre of Hingham, is also well isolated from the road and from other properties, giving a great level of peace and quiet! Louise was a wonderful host, and made us feel very welcome. She was also extremely accommodating when circumstances meant that we had to rearrange dates. for which we were extremely grateful. We are already planning a return visit!

A perfect escape
We had the most amazing stay at Bank House with our friends. We just had a short break booked but the cottage immediately allowed us to switch off for the weekend. Itās indescribably beautiful, full of character, finished to the highest standard and smelt amazing!! Our hosts were incredible, Louise ensured check in was smooth and was on hand for anything we needed. The cottage had everything you could think of, plus a box of extras if youād forgotten anything!
Hingham is beautiful place and we would love to come back - 2 nights just wasnāt enough!!

Absolute gem
Beautifully restored XVth century cottage, but with all mod cons! Tons of character, little quirks of an old building but all very comfortable and easy to use. Wonderful attention to detail in everything, also in terms of great quality and selection of sundries (tea/coffee/toiletries) for guests. Additional playroom for kids, and cute little garden with outdoor seating in a little sun-trap. Kind and responsive hosts. I honestly loved everything about my stay and felt 'privileged' to live for a bit in such old building. Hingham itself has proven as a great starting point to explore Norfolk.

Unique holiday home
Lovely 15th century unique historic property made for a wonderful holiday in Norfolk. Hingham is very central and great for accessing the whole county and beyond.
Louise is a superb host. Very easy to communicate with, very flexible with check in times and always there at the end of the phone for anything.
There were very welcome supplies waiting for us when we arrived and plenty of anything you might need, (dishwasher and washing tablets etc) and lovely high end toiletries.
A well equipped kitchen for cooking meals and Hingham has great shops for any provisions you need.
We soon got used to the low beams and creaky floorboard and they added to the charm of the property.

Relaxing country cottage break
True to description, this lovely cottage is a great getaway. T
he host met us as we arrived later than expected.
The property is a tranquil hideaway in the beautiful historic village, with the White Hart immediately opposite (we had family dinner on our second night).
The cottage was perfect for our family and dog. The secure old English garden was a real luxury, as we were able to enjoy some early summer sun while our dog was happy wandering around the lawn.
The hosts provide every treat, along with crisp linen and a well stocked kitchen.
A couple of low beams and an ancient slope to the master bedroom may make this unsuitable to anyone unsteady on their feet, but it was a beautiful space.
Loads to do near by, but you will need a car to get "near by" which is usually a 20-30 minute drive.
Coop just round the corner means you can easily get supplies in, and the well stocked library and dvd selection means you can't get bored even on a wet afternoon.
A really great break, we hope to visit again.
Highly recommended for the slightly more agile.

Only a short hop into lovely Norwich, perhaps the most underrated city in England, and an easy drive to Cambridge. The Norfolk Broads and East Anglia's haunting coastline are also readily reached from here.We look forward eagerly to returning in the near future.

Quaint beyond words
This charming cottage achieves the difficult trick of being both in the heart of a pretty village, and completely private and quiet. It has been fitted out to a very high standard by people with a very good 'eye' indeed, right down to the padding on the low beams! There is no need to take any alcohol as the gently sloping floors produce a similar sensation without any risk of a hangover. Overall, it's a delight.
It was spotlessly clean and contained all of the little things that are occasionally forgotten, like sharp knives, plenty of chopping boards and pans etc.
We were made very welcome, and can fully recommend a stay here.
Thank you.

Cozy cottage
My husband and I stayed in Louise's cottage for 3 nights whilst visiting family in the area. We found the cottage to have everything we needed and the bed was comfy. It was quietly secluded behind the Market Place shops and we enjoyed having breakfast in the sunny garden. It was great to have the bakery and butchers shops so close by. The bus runs regularly into Norwich so you can leave the car behind to explore. A very good experience in Hingham. Thank you Louise.

Lovely charming cottage in a really nice village.
What a great place to stay, with such lovely character, but with everything you need to make your stay perfect, in a great location with all of the coast about an hour away and Norwich a stones throw away. Enclosed garden for the dogs.
Beams interesting even for the vertical challenged which just added to character of the cottage. Would highly recommend it to all.

Very lucky find: beautiful cottage and lovely owners
We wanted something different and quirky to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. This cottage was amazing, so much character, a cosy charming hideaway, we slept like logs, it was peaceful, warm, comfy and full of charm.
Really thoughtful touches, we were left some goodies in the fridge and flowers and a cake from the bakery. The towels and linen were immaculately clean soft and fluffy and smelt divine. Louise could not have been more welcoming and friendly and was able to help with eateries, we had a fun afternoon at the pub over the road where we ate a Sunday roast and one of our evenings we enjoyed a tasty Indian takeaway.
Thank you so much we had such a lovely family break and after exhausting ourselves with board games settled down to watch Avatar - loads of DVDs to choose from. Weather was rubbish which meant we didnt eat outside or enjoy the garden but we did benefit from the log burner. Parking was plentiful we had 3 cars between us and no parking issues. The cottage feels really safe, we didnt bring dogs and you would never know anyone had ever taken pets into the cottage. Do not hesitate to book you will not regret staying here.

Weekend break in Bank House
We had a short but very pleasant stay in Bank House, a well-equipped and charmingly quirky property. Nicely located with a very good hotel-restaurant just across the road, and convenient for a day trip into Norwich. Louise, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. Would happily recommend, but please note the āmind your headā signs on some low beams are not just decorative!
