Beautiful Edwardian 4 Bed Holiday House- 10 mins walk from beach- Dogs welcome. Brantwood Holiday Cottage is a beautiful Edwardian four bedroom family home, with many original features and a south facing garden. Newly renovated in 2020 and extended to the rear Brantwood combines modernity with many beautiful character features. Brantwood is conveniently situated only a 10 minute walk from Swanage town centre, shops, restaurants and the seafront's sandy beach. Local pubs and off licenses are only a 5 minute walk from Brantwood and we have off road parking for two cars.You can take a boat trip along the Jurassic coast, walk in Durlston Country Park, take the steam train to Corfe Castle, stroll along the Victorian pier, swim on the award winning beaches or go for meals out in the many restaurants in the town centre. We have a small corner shop nearby which is open early till late and a good variety of shops in the town.
The property is a detached red brick Edwardian town house with accommodation over two floors. From the front rooms there are views to the Purbeck Hills and the rear bedrooms look onto the garden. The ground floor features an elegant entrance hall which to the right leads onto a new extension including a large kitchen, dining room with log burner and seating area with 4 metre sliding doors doors onto the patio and garden. There is also a separate sitting room on the ground floor with smart television and room to seat 6 adults comfortably. The sitting room also has a lovely log burner perfect for the colder seasons. The Laura Ashley sofa in the sitting room is a double sofa bed in case you have any extra friends staying over during your stay at Brantwood. There is a downstairs shower room/utility room toilet on the ground floor.
The well equipped kitchen has everything you will need to make your stay comfortable, including a 1m10 double range-master oven, nespresso machine (please bring your own capsules), new dishwasher, large American fridge freezer and Kitchen Aid. We have a record player and records to choose and an amazon 'Alexa' linked to our Amazon music account and a 70 inch TV in the extension room plus a 40 inch TV in the private sitting room. The doors to the patio and garden are off the extension room. The south facing garden and patio area to the rear has a large rattan garden table and seating for 8 people and a BBQ. Buckets, spades and other beach essentials are available in the shed to make your stay extra relaxing! In the kitchen/dining room extension you will find plenty of toys for your children to play with and we have one high chair available.
The first floor accommodation features four bedrooms. There are two lovely double bedrooms, one to the front and one to the rear of the property, both with John Lewis King Size beds and fitted wardrobes. There are also two smaller bedrooms, one of which has full size adult bunk beds (6ft 3) and the other has bunk beds which are suitable for children (5ft 3). There is also one cot and an additional travel cot available on request. The modern, newly refurbished in 2017 family bathroom is on the first floor and has a bath and over the bath shower. All beds have duvets and pillows, bed linen and towels are provided as standard. Please bring your own beach towels- these are not provided.
Your dogs are welcome at Brantwood- we love dogs. Although please ensure that they don't get up on the sofas or go upstairs in the house. Please also clear up after them in the garden- there is an additional charge of £25 per dog.
Christmas at Brantwood:
Arrive at Brantwood at Christmas time to a fully decorated tree and house and a wood burner laid ready to light. Let me know the names of your children and small gifts will be waiting under the tree for them and stocking hung above the fire place. If you order your Christmas food ahead of your arrival we can unload it into the fridge for you and can even place an order for your Christmas bird from the local farmer.

What a beautiful home, so spacious and stylish yet very homely. It was so well equipped we were able to cook some lovely meals and the children enjoyed playing with all the lovely toys available. The garden was just perfect for relaxing and dining. It really was like a home from home and we would love to come back!

Perfect Swanage Get Away
Lovely property with beautiful extension made it the perfect family holiday with plenty of space and so close to Swanage beach and town centre. Also tons of toys to keep the kids happy and books and games for the adults. Thank you very much for a fabulous holiday.

We as a family, had a lovely holiday in this Property. The facilities and equipment provided were excellent. Everything that we needed for our holiday. The weather was even kind , we seemed to miss the worse of the storms. We would certainly stay in this property again.

Lovely stay
We had a lovely time the communication was excellent and there was a nice welcome pack and note on arrival . We loved the kitchen / diner / lounge and great garden with good furniture. our children were older but lots of games toys etc if little ones. Location felt residential but only about 12 mins walk to town .
Fab info pack with recommendations on restaurants places to visit etc.
We were unsure on how to use the tv so messaged Maia who got straight back to us .
Overall a very enjoyable stay thank you !

Awesome property and location
Great booking process and communication with the owners. Ideal location for what we wanted. Just slightly further out of the town away from the hustle and bustle but just a short walk to puds and the beach.
Property was spacious and clean and ideal for 4 adults and 2 kids with room to spare.
Plenty of home from home comforts so we could focus on the holiday.
Already pencilled in our trip for next year.

Lovely Christmas in Swanage!
Lights were twinkling on the Christmas tree and the wreath as we drove up adding to the magic of Christmas, the house was very welcoming and Maia had left some beautifully thoughtful gifts for the children underneath the tree. Ideal situation for walking everywhere so cars hardly left the drive. We hadn't realised that the house was a family home for most of the year and the children certainly enjoyed playing with different toys of which there were lots! Maia was really helpful and answered any query really quickly. Building work necessitated staying somewhere away from home for Christmas, we will certainly be doing it again!

A glorious holiday!
Returnng to Swanage after over 60 years, I wasn't disappointed! The house was beautifully presented and comfortable; all of us could enjoy its facilities and it was only a ten-minute attractive walk to the middle of town and the beach. There was plenty for all the three generations in our party to do. The hosts generously allowed visitors to use their children's toys and there were books available for all ages. However, we were fortunate with the weather and spent almost all our time outdoors enjoying the local attractions: steam railway, Corfe Castle with its model village as well as the castle, boat trip, fish and chips, coast path walks, the beach, galleries, cafes, ... .
The house was easily accessible for those of who travelled by train and all contact with the owner was speedy and welcoming.
Our seven-year-old grandson's first words as they drew away from the house were, 'When can we come on holiday to Swanage again?'

Fabulous Holiday
We had a fantastic time in Swanage, as always. Four generations of the family stayed in this lovely house and there was something for every one. The accommodation is first class, comfortable,clean and spacious. The garden basques in the sun until late evening - ideal for bbqs. This is not your average rental property it has a whole host of things to make it a home from home. I would recommend the house to anybody. We are hoping to repeat our stay there in the future. A big thank you to the owners for making our holiday so comfortable.

Spacious, well appointed house in a lovely town.
The house is spacious and well equipped (except no toaster) and in a convenient location. We had a great time. There are excellent places to eat around Swanage so we didn't do any cooking. Highlight was a meal in the Scott Arms in Kingston - the view is breath taking and the food is good. Many thanks for letting us stay there.

Brilliant
Lovely house with modern decor. Really spacious for us and our 6 kids. Nice little garden, just big enough and with a BBQ and decking area perfect on a nice evening. Close enough to the action that our cars didn't move off the driveway all week. Great food at the Black Swan 5 mins down the road. Excellent holiday let with lovely owners. Thank you!

Great property!
Had a great family holiday here in Aug2017. House is just like the photos, and is more like a home than a holiday let.
10 mins walk into Swanage, Pub and shop 5 mins away. 2 parking spaces. Really comfy beds and quality bedding. The kitchen Is fully equipped, all mod cons, gas BBQ and a terraced garden.
Loads of toys for kids, handy when it rains! Beach equipment is also available. My only suggestion for improvement would be a larger fridge in the kitchen. There is a second fridge in the shed, so it's only a small issue.
Fab week, would not hesitate to stay again if we visit Swanage in the future and will recommend to friends and family.
Communication with the owners was also first class.

fabulous house
The house was wonderful. Incredibly well equipped with the owners generously sharing many items which made the holiday all the better!. Lovely garden with super patio and Bar B Q. House maintained to a very high standard. Location ideal for walking to town, train station and buses. We all loved it and would definately highly recommend.
