Хороший вайфай
Очень грязно, постель в пятнах и не странная. Плесень на стенах и потолке, неприятный запах. Ужасный завтрак.

the guy was welcoming & breakfast alright!
There’s an extremely tricky stairway to climb in order to reach the property. I was not informed about that and we had to climb it up at night with all our luggage, with no help.
the whole place needs a good clean.. toilets were dirty and dusty, with hair stuck on the shower drain, ants, spiders & cockroaches everywhere.. mattress smelled like mold and bedsheets were dirty/ stained. not happy :(

We liked it all, friendly host, nice breakfast, hot water
The linen is not very clean, meaning there are quite a few old spots left after washing.

Just the best people you can find in Sri Lanka.
comfortable room, well equipped, amazing local breakfast surrounded by monkeys(there's protection around you)
all around, an amazing opportunity at a very fair price. ❤️
You're in the jungle, be prepared for the eventual spider or ants lurking around, but that's everywhere in this region 🤷♂️

cozy and clean
a bit far from the town centre.

* Great view on Kandy
* Very nice, helpful staff
* Good, tasty breakfast
Due to the fact that there are currently very few tourists staying there, the room was not clean. Staff was not informed that we had a reservation and we had to ask them to clean up. It was still not clean after that.

Good location, nice staff and feeding the monkeys for the breakfast was definitely a unique experience for us.
Well, there are still few things to
be improved: I think the room is not that clean as should be for this price (spiderweb and bugs in each corner, but you can ignore my comment if you think the expectations is too high), broken door to the bathroom should be fixed and poor natural light. However, I am sure the guest’ kindness might compensate this little cons and shouldn’t be a drawback in choosing this stay.

The owner was very nice
The photos don't match with the reality. The place was full of insects, specially the bathroom; and it was a little bit hidden, it was difficult to find.

It has a good value and location, surrounded by nature and you even can have a short walk to the forest, quite calm - far from main roads. There is a nice pub in 5 min walk and coffee place as well.
You need to be ready walk 127 stairs up cause its on a small hill, i was with trolley and it was not really convenient but staff helped me on a way back

The monkeys during breakfast are so lovely to watch :)
Nilan (host) made you feel welcome and doing his best for you to have a great breakfast and stay, always nearby for any of your enquiries
If you have a big bag or heavy luggage, the only way to the stay is through a rough 50 steps.. not handy if you carry a lot with you ;)

Quiet and clean
Hard to find, nobody present for check in, water and hot water working only part time, room and whole building rather basic.

Great place to stay in Kandy 25 mi walk from train station, 10 min walk from lake and main temple. Very friendly and helpful host. Place is very quiet. Perfect location definitely recommend.

Location was great, just 15 mins on foot to the temple of tooth.
Door in the toilet was broken in half, so no privacy at all. Bed sheets and towels were dirty. Unleashed dogs from the neighbors barking at us let us feel unsafe when we came back home in the night.

The owner is the greatest man, he did his best to help me. Hot (really hot) water in the rooms, rooms are very clean and comfy. Pleasant stay, recommend

I really had a nice time and took a lot of rest in the comfy room!
The wifi wasn't working and no one was there for 5 hours when i showed up. But he was really kind and when i called, i could just walk into a room myself.

It is close to the Tooth temple as well as the forest which is right behind the lodge. Those who like rather harder bed will sleep well :) the room was very spacious and had a lovely bathroom. The owner was nice.
On the day of our departure we had to leave early, around 6h30. The only thing the owner left us for breakfast was jam and butter in the fridge and toast bread (which had mold on it - but for his defence I am sure that was not on purpose). The lodge is a bit further from the city centre and there are really several steps leading towards it (more than 100).

The breakfast was very very good. The owner is very friendly and even let us wash our clothes for no extra cost

Probably the best accommodation we had in Sri Lanka, nice place, quiet place, very friendly stuff, perfect breakfast, wifi, A/C, hot water, clean and big room, good price.
Few stairs, but on the other hand the view was amasing, for me a little bit hard matterace.

Staff was great, saving us from monkeys, who tried to steal some of our food. Breakfast was tasty and all negotiations were nice. We had an option to choose a room, it was nice also. There was no problem getting hot water or charging adapter. The only issue, not exactly related to guesthouse itself, is that Udwatta Kele entrance is at the other side, since you have to buy tickets here. You can still have a relaxing walk nearby and see some sights of Kandy from a nice viewpoint.
It might be tricky to find or to get upstairs for elderly people

Clean, with breakfasts, has kitchen and refrigerator, 20 minutes walk from bus/railway station, good Wi-Fi reception. Extremely good value.
Didn't see the host — was only interacting with caretakers, who hardly spoke any English. They dialed the host a couple of times though, when I had questions, so that's OK. Also, the monkeys are running on the roof in the morning, that's a bit noisy. Also, stairs.

The room was clean, and man from the hotel friendly.
The room has not corresponded to its description. There were two beds instead of one big bed. “The view to the mountain” is hidden by trees.

Too many stairs to get to the hotel

Simple, but very nice place with real local feeling. We liked the location - just 15 min walk to Temple, but still bit away from horrible traffic. Breakfast simple, but the price per night is also very cheap. Monkeys around - can be interesting ... and noisy when walking on rooftop at night.
Bit complicated to find. And uphills to climb might be problem for older and fatty people. But for us (58 & 40 y.o.) was OK.

It's a very peaceful and quiet place, close to the temple and the night show in Kandy. The breakfast was very delicious
There are 120 steps to get the entrance to the lodge. It's not bad, I can't complain but it was dark in the night

High upstairs, no view
