About this apartment rental
WHY CHOOSE THIS APARTMENT: Light and airy 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment in a great location. Easily get to major shopping centers, grocery stores, restaurants and bars. All within 5-7 minutes away. Walking distance to local eats. Quick access to all highways (81, 83, 283, PA Turnpike) and downtown Harrisburg is only 7 minutes away. Hershey and Hersheypark is only 22 minutes away. On public bus route. Laundromat is a short walk from home (1 1/2 blocks away). Apartment is on 2nd floor with separate, exterior entrance. Has balcony and rear shared patio area to enjoy. Pet friendly.
NOTE: this is urban living and located in a diverse but safe neighborhood. If you're not used to this type of environment, city living and associated noises, we would recommend that you book elsewhere. Everything is within 5-10 minutes drive. It is also on the 2nd floor so you will need to climb stairs.
ABOUT THIS APARTMENT: This apartment is located on the 2nd and 3rd floor of my duplex. Newer kitchen cabinets, appliances, pergo and tile on the main living floor and carpet on the 3rd floor. There is a bedroom on the 2nd and 3rd floor. The main floor bedroom has lots of windows. We have installed blackout curtains throughout. These curtains provide great blockage of light for light sleepers and provide good insulation.
The kitchen is the first room as you enter the apartment. It's bright and open with a dine-in table and chairs. Updated appliances and cabinets make it a cinch to prepare meals. There is a newer dishwasher too. You have gas stove, overhead microwave and medium sized fridge. All cooking utensils, pots and pans, etc are provided. Basic cooking ingredients such as oil, salt and pepper and some spices are provided.
The next room is the living room. It has a leather loveseat and smart TV. Very cozy place to hang out.
Next to the living room is the front bedroom that is decent size with a queen and full bed. There is a closet in here with extra linens, towels, pillows and blankets. This room overlooks the neighborhood.
There is a doorway to upstairs in the living room to the 2nd bedroom on the third floor. This bedroom has a queen size bed and twin bed. Chest of drawers is up here with lights and ceiling fan. Electric heater. Window AC unit and ceiling fan.
HEATING & COOLING: The apartment is heated by a hot water radiator system powered by a gas furnace. It puts out some major heat in the winter time. We have portable window units for A/C throughout the home. During the summer, you're welcomed to open the windows in the kitchen and front bedroom to allow fresh air to flow through. It does catch a nice breeze that way. Either turn off or turn up the temperature (80 degrees) window AC units when leaving the property.
THINGS TO DO: You will find it to be a quaint neighborhood. Lots of small businesses and pizza sub shops. They are actually pretty decent and budget friendly. Further out you will find more restaurants and shopping malls. All of which are 5-10 minutes away at the most.
PARKING: You'll find parking to be a cinch. There is a vacant parking lot across the street that you can use or park on-street. No parking permit required and it's FREE at the moment. Park at your own risk. Please put away all items inside the car to deter thieves as with any city you visit.
Public transportation by bus is just down the block on Walnut Street. Uber is available too.
IMPORTANT:
1) proper government issued ID required prior to check in for all adult guests. All pets are on a case by case basis and requires approval PRIOR to booking
2) three of four gas stove burners require the use of a butane lighter (provided)
3) no visitors or unregistered guests allowed: please register all people that will be there 48 hours PRIOR to arrival; $200 fee/night will be accessed for each unregistered guest - no exceptions

We stayed for three nights very close to Hersheypark

This is our 2nd year staying at this house. Needs a little maintenance and upkeep when comparing it to last year. It worked for what we needed as it was close to the Pennsylvania Farm Show complex and its affordable. No issues with checking in or out.

Great quiet place. Great property manager. Hot water heater went out during the stay, he got a plumber in and changed the water heater out. Things happen can't predict when something breaks. Thanks Doyle & Sherry The Spice Man

Property is exactly as advertised. I had some difficulty getting access but the property manager responded immediately and helped resolve the issue. We honestly only slept at the property and we’re gone all day, so this was really a place to sleep and have coffee. I had zero issues with the neighborhood and parking was very easy.

Nice and Quiet
We came to spend time working on writing projects. We had a great couple days in Harrisburg, visiting coffee shops, book stores & restaurants. This was a nice place to come back too to do a lot of quiet work. Thanks!

I stayed here while I was waiting for my house to finish closing. I have nothing but positive things to say about my stay. Ann was OUTSTANDING, and responded to all my messages immediately. Her and her staff did an amazing job. Also, this place is .5 miles from the Beltway which has a beautiful run through the woods. I would definetly stay here again if I needed a furnished place to stay for a while.

This property was super clean; comfortable and as described. We marked down one star for the neighborhood, not because WE didn't find it just fine, but because it is as described, a transitional neighborhood.
We are a late middle-aged couple and arrived after dark and on a rainy night, so we were nervous about the steep wooden staircase and narrow deck at the entrance, but it was sturdy and we just took our time and were careful about using the handrail.
I was also worried that the houses are so dense and are all duplexes (we are from the wide open west), but the unit was very private and homey feeling. Even with the curtains open I didn't feel exposed. We could hear the neighborhood sounds; kids playing basketball, families sitting on their porches talking, etc. It was pleasant and not disruptive at all.
Our son enjoyed the privacy of the third floor loft room - all to himself.

Only slept there after hours and right back up and out early in the mornings. But I was really impressed by the overall floor plan of the property and Wow, the bed was great for some good rest. Bed so comfortable that I never made it under the blankets!

From start to finish, this was a delightful process and place to stay during a recent visit to Harrisburg, PA. Q was really easy to work with, prompt with messages and, once I was there, a phone call of "greeting" and TXTs as needed.
The place was exactly as promised and as depicted in photos... nicely furnished and comfortable. Parking on the street or in the parking lot across the street was plenty and easy. This location was perfect for my needs, close to everywhere I wanted to visit.
When back in Harrisburg, I'll hope to book this again!

Enjoyed our stay while visiting the Hershey area. This is an older home, but found it to be VERY clean. Furniture could use a little updating, but for the short time we were there, it was fine. Kitchen was stocked with coffee and tea, which was a nice surprise :)
Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home.
