Basically everything
The temperature of the pool was very cold, otherwise beautiful!

Lobby and location were on point.
The furnishings and doors were extremely outdated

Really good hotel, clean, nice rooms, nice staff. The pool with the sauna and hamman really good.
The only thing is that it's the shower in the room, poor pressure of the water, difficult to get the wanted temperature, too cold or too hot, you have to "play" during the shower for set correctly.

The hotel is a lovely, cozy place not too far from city center. They have very good amenities: pool, spa, lobby, 3 restaurants, variety of room types, outdoor lounging area, bar, etc. As expected, the hotel has a warm chalet feel to it. The lobby is really great with wooden and stone structure around. The location brings an awesome view of the mountains across the valley on the south side. The pool and spa are really great. A heated indoor (continuing to an outdoor) pool and the spa area are very cozy and comfortable. The outdoor restaurant gives for really great, quiet, late dinners overlooking the sunset.
We booked the 'Double Room South'. It has a double bed, 2 large couch chairs and a table, a work table and a chair, a luggage table. There is a small fridge with a mini bar in, closet and a safe. The bathroom has a shower-tub. The room is very cozy and well lit. The balcony had two chairs and a table and great views of the mountains. This section of the hotel is slightly tilted away from the pool-facing main wing.
The breakfast is really great. Ranging from a large number of cold to warm items on the menu, it was really good to have a full breakfast before starting the day. The breakfast room is overlooking the south side view and the pool area. Given the amazing weather we had during our stay, it is quite a way to start the day. We had dinner one evening at the pool-side restaurant, the food was very well prepared and the ambiance was great.
The staff was very nice, helpful and prompt. Our interactions at the front desk during check in were simply perfect. The gentleman explained to us the details and escorted us to the room. We also had a lovely interaction with Ms. Geraldine several times. I would like to thank her and the staff once again for the birthday wishes as well!
Although the property is very close to a bus stop (less than 50m), the schedule for busses on that stop are not too convenient during later hours. I want to note that this is not Hotel Etrier's fault, it's just a pointer for those who do not have a car, it may be somewhat of an inconvenience. The walk to the stop with further connections is about a km walk from there.
Some minor like the coffee machine not working in our room, a fidgety bathroom door and creaking balcony door.

This is a very good hotel. The staff and location were both excellent as was the breakfast.

I understand that investing in air con' isn't worthwhile but for an all year round resort commanding the rates that it does, with temperatures of up to 35 degrees in the daytime and 28 at night perhaps investing in ceiling or wall fans would be worthwhile for guests' comfort - the world isn't getting cooler either!
The WiFi signal isn't strong enough to reach all rooms satisfactorily for 2022 and beyond.

The location and the staff really made the stay. The pool has been recently renovated and quite beautiful. The view from the lobby was stunning and drinks are reasonably priced. The hotel allowed us to use the pool after check out. very well located on Crans for all the activities!
the room we had was very old and in dire need of an update. the north “view” is a parking lot and busy road so beware. the hotel is 4* and I could see the rooms across from us facing the mountains were renovated and had nespresso machines- beautiful! we had nothing and I think the room was more like a hostel so I don’t think the price reflected what was essentially a 1* room. a little misleading- we chose
to stay out of the room as much a possible as the rest of the hotel was nice.

The property boasts a very nice view of the valley through the beautiful bar at entrance. offers a nice parking space and is relatively convenient to reach the departing slopes.
similarly to the area, no restaurant offer post 10 pm, making it challenging for a weekend trip. Thankfully some guests opened the door to us when we arrived at 11.30 pm. some rooms are also very old / non renovated considering price.

Single glass window, noice of passing vehicles on the road is annoying.

The location is perfect to reach the ski lift. (Just 5min by foot and some stairs). South rooms have a very nice view on the mountains. The room and bathroom were perfectly clean. The pool at 29 degrees and the large hammam are really great. The cooking of the restaurant was excellent. People at the reception were perfect to inform.
We had foam pillows. Definitely deceiving. The waiter and waitresses (of restaurant and at breakfast) didn't make us feel comfortable. They made us feel guilty to ask anything. Waiter/waitress is a calling. The home marmelades looked old and had no great taste. The lift is not reassuring lol.
And it was a little bit deceiving that the outside part of the pool didn't open every day like announced. Maybe some technical issues.
1.0
The pool and the view.
I paid 500 Swiss Francs for a suite for 2 nights. The tv didn’t work, the fridge didn’t work and the door handle to the balcony came off in my hand.
There were no staff anywhere to be seen my entire stay. It was a ghost hotel! No management even working to complain to. All the restaurants and bars were closed and there were no servers or staff anywhere. Just one girl at reception. I have never witnessed anything like it before in my life!
If they had told me that there was no food or bar service available I would never have stayed there. I couldn’t cancel through booking.com and when I complained at checkout the woman made me feel like it was my fault for staying there. Unbelievable!
For the two days I stayed there I could not get a drink or any food. I had to walk 1-2 km into town. How did this hotel get a 4 star rating? It’s a 1 star hotel with a nice pool. They don’t know the meaning of service. I’m sure they can’t even spell the word. Never stay here!

typical Swiss Mountain hotel, nice pictures on the homepage, SPA & POOL looks good.
I had to change the room, first room (nr 70) was like an hostel, at least 40 Years old, no curtains to darken the room. Change the room after day 1, same old room, but at least with curtains.

Breakfast was not at the level of the hotel.
It was hard to order coffee and the coffee tast was poor (I guess it was instant coffee)

The staff were really friendly and helpful, indoor & outdoor pool, spa & hammam.
The hotel's exterior felt a bit run down, beds not the most comfortable.
8.0
Good location, nice swimming pool, dinner was also nice.
Rooms are quite basic for a 4 star hotel, but sufficient.
