Close to the train station and calm quite location.

The breakfast was included when we did the reservation. Still the staff asked everyday if the breakfast was included. It was a bit akward situation. The building looked old and we became both sick so it might be because of mold and there was a bit strange smell in some rooms. You have to change to a metro so there is no straight line to Madrid centre like they say.

Perfect for students and teachers, not the best for tourists

The location is perfect if you have business at the University, as it was our case, otherwise it's a bit far away from the town. The train station though is very near. The room was as shown in the photos, the food was decent, the view magnificent, the vending machines full and the mini market in the cafeteria has from condoms to canned chickpeas.

The walls need a new coat of paint and some sound proofing. The hours of the dinner might vary from what it's written on the board. The actual place is in the building that says "Residencia Erasmo II", at number 7, not where the application's flag appears.

An excellent choice if one has commitments at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid

The location was great in respect to the fact that I had commitments, fairly early in the morning the day after my arrival, at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid which was about 100 meters away from the accommodation. The place is very easy to reach from the airport by using the metro which has a stop about 500 meters away and has a reception which is open 24 hours. The place is very much dominated by students, which was great from my perspective. Also, there is a gym in the neighbouring building which I could use for free and where I worked out together with a bunch of nice students. Since this is Spain, people mostly speak Spanish, of course, which I unfortunately don't know at all, and which was the reason why it took me the first morning to figure out how their breakfast service works in detail (i.e. what is included in the price which I paid for the accommodation etc.). Getting a second helping like more coffee or juice is no problem. In general, the staff working at the restaurang was very, very friendly and has very good eye contact which was the key for getting our communication to work with smiles in each other faces. This place also serves lunch and dinner (both eat in and take away options) at an amazing price of about 6 Euros or somewhat less, and the food was certainly worth the money/good. Sleeping at the place was no problem - around midnight everything/everybody gets very quiet and remains so until about 7 or 8 am in the morning. So at least 7 - 8 hours of good sleep.

Great place to stay if you want to visit Autonoma University.

Great hotel on the campus of Autonoma University. Breakfast is basic, but good. There is a nice terrace and conservatory for eating and having coffee. Spacious room/studio, very nice staff, but most speak very little English. Travel time to the city centre (Sol station) approximately 30 minutes. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Another wing of the building is a student hall, which you can hear sometimes. You can log on to the free wifi for two hours at a time, or pay extra for better wifi.

Very poor

There were a few things listed on the Residencia Universitaria Erasmo's Booking listing that I ultimately found misleading or confusing. The site says booking can be canceled hastle-free with 24-hour notice. However, it does not make clear the policy for canceling the remaining days on a reservation once already staying there if I stay needs to be shortened. I wanted to cancel just a few days at the end of my long reservation (which while a slightly odd request, is something I know many hotels can and do accommodate). When I went to ask if this was possible early Saturday morning, the woman working there did not speak English and she informed me that anything related to bookings or cancelations had to be addressed when the other staff members who were there 9-5 M-F. The woman was very kind, patient with my broken Spanish, and did her best but it sure seems misleading to advertise both a 24-hour desk and bilingual staff whenever this wasn't avalible. Once I was able to speak with the others Monday morning, they seemed confused by the request and ultimately told me there was nothing they could do, and there was nobody else I could speak to about the matter. Had I been able to fix the situation 48-hours sooner, I might have been able to plan the rest of my trip more easily and it wouldn't have interrupted my work schedule or delayed my ability to file my expense reports so drastically. I understand the cancelation policy might not be as generous as I would have liked. My trip had a volatile schedule, so that is in no way the fault of the Residencia. I don't take issue with that. However, having to wait so long for clarity with no avenue to request help was a big hassle that interrupted my work. I think the Residencia should modify their Booking.com listing to better reflect what services they actually can offer and when they can offer them. It is not fair for the University (or whoever handles the listing) to put the staff in that position.
