We had a lovely stay at Blancaneux! The amenities were great, service was top notch and the property was peaceful and absolutely lovely! We expected a great stay but everything was above expectations. We would always choose Blancaneux if our travels take us back to this area!

The staff knows what you need even before you need it! Absolutely fantastic. This was one of our best experiences with truly professional and attentive staff.
Property is gorgeous and does not feel crowded evenn at full capacity. The perfect place if you are looking for a quiet hideaway in the jungle.

First of all, the worst accommodation on our round trip!
The best was the friendly lady who picked us up from the parking lot.
Then we were informed in a very incomprehensible commanding English by a young lady about the resort. In advance we ordered something to drink from her. (The outside temperature 38°C / 100°F). After a few minutes we asked where the drinks were, as an answer: are on the way. After further monotonous lectures, which we almost did not understand, we asked again for our drinks. The answer. Sin on the way!
When your lecture finally ended, we should go to room (bungalow), again we asked for our drinks, now the answer: what would you like to order!!!! (Impudent, here not the guest but the receptionist is king) Arrived in the bungalow, 29°C / 85°F room temperature and no air conditioning and that at a 5 star resort! We hoped for a cold cola from the minibar, unfortunately there was only a sugared version. Ok, we just drink a wine, but there was also only from cans, disgusting).
So off to the pool. Covers for the sunbeds or towels were not available here! Only the next day after our request. Ok, change and into the restaurant (Italian) where we ordered a ceviche, we then got a vegetable-like ceviche with insert, quite terrible!
Now we could only look forward to our departure!

Everything was amazing. The staff was wonderful, the food above and beyond my expectations.
the Price off the charts worth every penny!
In conclusion we went to 3 different resorts during our stay, and this was by far our favorite.
Having to leave!
Not having more time.
Wanted to take the tour guide home with us!

Beautiful, well maintained property. Everything you need is at your fingertips.
While there was plenty of room for a queen bed in our cabana, we were confined to a double bed.

Our stay at Blancaneaux was one of, if not the, highlight of our trip. The remote location offering peace and quiet was perfect. The staff was exceptional. Some of the best service we've ever experienced. The staff was aware of iur dietary restrictions and were amazingly hwlpful at mealtimes. Speaking of food, everything we enjoyed was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the traditional Belizean meal we had one evening. The property was just splendid. Everyone was welcoming, helpful, kind, and quick to share stories, travel tips, and local history with us. We met some amazing people along the way and can't wait to go back someday!

Amazing location.. amazing views.. amazing people! We loved everything about our stay!
The staff were very helpful and supportive with advice on activities to be done; we rented bikes and did a tour to the waterfall.
Would definitely recommend the hike, breakfast in the room (which is foc), a visit to the Guatemalan restaurant <3 and the hot pool!
Not really a major problem, but the menu in the main restaurant could be more a bit diverse, we felt that the focus was too much on pizza and pasta.

Blancaneaux lodge is the perfect hideaway in the back country of Belize. The hotel is beautiful. We do recommend the villas overlooking the river. The staff is extremely professional and friendly.
Perfect location for hiking visiting Tikal or ATM cave.
This was our second stay and liked the place just as much as 10 years ago!
Nothing.
Perhaps the dinner menu could be slitghly better but daily specials are usually excellent.

This resort is spectacular - from the views, to the villas, to the landscape - it will take your breath away. We were overwhelmed with how much there was to see and do, and how lucky we were to be there in such a beautiful environment. Our 2-bedroom villa was clean, had that upscale Central American feel but also took advantage of the rainforest atmosphere. My kids loved the hammocks. We had a deck right outside our villa that overlooked the Privassion River with swimming areas (that you can go tubing down). We loved our excursions to the Rio Frio Cave and Caracol - which everyone should do immediately before it becomes a major tourist attraction. And the hike to Big Rock Waterfall was worth the challenge as you can swim right up the falls. Blancaneaux is a truly unique, gorgeous environment in the rainforest where so many one-of-a-kind adventures await you. The staff was superb and went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. Cannot recommend this resort enough!
The only negative would be the bugs. But you are in the rainforest, so bugs are expected. Make sure you pack plenty of bug spray and just know that you can't escape them as the entire resort is open-air. Also, this is not a resort to wear high-heels at as it's very hilly and you have many steps up and down throughout the resort. Bring your flat, comfortable sandals and enjoy the experience.

The location is incredible and the facilities are high quality. There were so many activities to choose from, some of which are complimentary, so I was never bored during my stay. The fresh water pool was also amazing and much more rejuvenating than a chlorinated pool that dries out your skin and hair. The property itself is something to explore and the Waterfall Spa is a great amenity that I would have utilized more if I had the time.
The only downside were the mosquitoes which are to be expected in any jungle paradise. The property has bug spray located throughout should you need it but I would recommend bringing your own that is stronger.

This place is paradise! If you love nature, culture, relaxation, this place is for you. I loved the vegetation, having breakfast on our private balcony, going for a swim in the hot pool at night. The staff is also great; we were celebrating a birthday and they prepared a separate place just for us and we didn’t even requested it. I would recommend this place 100%

5 star service. Staff are well trained and conduct themselves like they are happy to be here, proud workers. We ate all meals at 2 different on site restaurants & they were deliciously different, Guatemalan & Italian. The management & front staff are responsive and approachable. This was a very special anniversary & they made exceptional efforts to make it truly memorable. The rooms echo the setting, the bedding is comfortable. I will miss the sounds & sights of birds & river. The most relaxing yet diverse & active offerings.
There was nothing I didn’t like. I might however suggest a drying rack for wet clothes.

Blancaneaux far exceeded my husband and my expectations. The grounds were absolutely spectacular. Extremely beautiful. The rooms are very quaint and perfect for a peaceful, no wifi and relaxing experience. The food was so delicious and fresh and their Garden Restaurant is a MUST! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Exactly what my husband and I needed for our first trip since the pandemic. The only thing to note is that most things are at least an hour away due to the lack of paved roads or construction. Trust me when I tell you that this should not be a deterring factor from staying here. You will be so happy you stayed here and will forget that things are far!

Very remote lodge with lots of character in a natural environment with access to many Mayan sites. Excellent food prepared with the produce of the organic garden. Guatemalan restaurant as well as a vegetarian one in the garden. Challenging but rewarding hike to Big Rock Falls where you can swim in the pond. Interesting canoe trip in Barton Creek Cave to learn about the Mayans and on the way back a surprising ride into Mennonite country. Last but not least a dedicated and friendly staff who will make your stay an unforgettable one.
