Smoothe check in with late arrival.
We stayed in motels room M2 wich has a roof above outside area. That was a perfect in the raining evening. The room is updated to modern standard and was clean. Friendly atmosphere. Like it!
Check out til 10 o'clock. One extra hour will be better. :)

It's one of the places I would like to come back to. The motel is located in an amazingly beautiful area, surrounded by mountains and lakes. The room was big enough and we could find everything we needed, even a coffee machine, microwave and fridge. Very comfortable beds, forest view from the window of our room. The price is not high at all compared to similar objects in Norway. Very friendly hosts, they own a cozy cafe nearby (50m from the motel), so we enjoyed our dinner and breakfast there. We could see there is just a fantastic area for camping, the hosts own several summer houses by the lake and now I have a dream to come back and spend some days in one of these houses and enjoy the beauty of nature around.
Everything was just perfect

It was just what we needed after a rainy day. Comfy and clean with a nice pub close by to eat at.
The only downside were the thin walls, we could hear the neighbours quite well.

When we were there the adjacent restaurant was open; nice place for drinks and food.

First and foremost, the hosts were absolutely welcoming and helpful. The booking process, the flexibility of time for arrival and everything you expect from a host was wonderful.
The beds are super comfortable and there are all the basic elements you may need if you want to heat up your own food or make yourself some coffee. It is everything one can expect from a vacation apartment.
However, if you are anything like my family, you would truly appreciate the fact that the "Kroa" offers a breakfast that beats any hotel breakfast you can think of. We had dinner there and breakfast. The food is made and served with love and it is not only abundant, it is also very tasty.
In the camping area nearby there are possibilities to go for a swim and also for nature hikes. As a matter of fact, while we were having breakfast there we had the opportunity to listen in to the briefing of a group that was about to go rappeling on the "Via Ferrata". What a thrill! This is something to consider as we only stayed for a night as we had to be somewhere else, but had we known, we could have planned to stay 2 instead of 1 night.
The place has been going through renovations due to a change in ownership so the entrance had a huge container on the parking lot, which made the place look a bit scary at first, but upon realizing that other people were also occupying the other apartments and that we were not alone, it was ok.

I loved the area around the hotel room. After darkness fell, I was able to see the galaxy. The room had a good bath and a good TV, also a good fridge. I was able to take a walk to the nearby lake, and if the season is right, you can collect Tyttebær from the hillside, at least some of the camping guests (owned by the same owner) did and were well versed at it.
I will take a detour to visit here again in hopefully happier times, with more people, an open pub, or perhaps when the Tyttebær are ripe again.
The adjacent (same owner) bar & pub was unfortunately closed, so no nearby food to be had, but this was due to water damage and slow insurance companies. The owner still gave me a quick tour of the closed place and showed me a taxidermied elk, so I knew to drive safely and not hit one, as they were out and about in september! The owner did all of this in a moment of family crisis. I can scarcely imagine how incredibly friendly Bjørn must be under normal circumstances. Made me feel right at home, as though I had simply met up with an old friend. Under the circumstances, this exceptional and I feel grateful.

Comfy bed and a good location as a stop off on the way to Oslo.
There was a coffee machine but no mugs spoons etc.

Space design apartment with good beds and everything you need. Great nature and peaceful.
