Mondänes und komfortables Hotel in Portovenere

Die Schönheit des Hotels entpuppt sich auf der Rückseite - toller Garten, schöner Pool und eigener Strandabschnitt. Das Frühstück ist wirklich toll auf der Terrasse und es gibt einen Parkplatz oder Parkservice (auch wenn er teuer ist). Man ist in 5min im Zentrum, die Lage ist richtig gut. Der eigene Strandabschnitt ist sehr komfortabel, Liegenstühle und Schirme sind im Preis inbegriffen, für Liegen zahlt man 20€ p.P.

Die Lage an der Hauptverkehrsstraße ist aber auch das größte Manko, es ist wahnsinnig laut durch die ganzen Mopeds und Motorräder. Die Fenster sind doppelt verglast, das hilft auf jeden Fall. Unser Zimmer war wirklich klein, wir wussten gar nicht, wohin mit unseren Koffern, aber es gab genug Schränke. Wir waren nur 2 Nächte dort, da lohnte das Auspacken nicht. Das Bad ist modern, aber winzig und mit wenig Ablageflächen. Das Hotel hat so ein bisschen Shabby-Schick im Treppenhaus, da könnte ein Renovierung gut tun.

Fabulous property in a lovely setting.

Fantastic property and great staff. The setting is incredible, on the edge of town right, up the hill from the beach, with terraces leading down to the pool, a bar overlooking the water, outdoor seating and play areas, and finally to the piers / sunning area right on the water. You could easily spend days just on the property, but it is a 3 minute walk to the train station or into town (just down the hill), so location is great. We had a 2-room suite for a family of 4 (two 20-something kids);- it was a just a bit tight in the room (1 bath for 4; no larger rooms were available at that time), but we had a great outdoor terrace with table and chairs for 4, lounge chairs, and direct access to the hotel terraces and waterfront (lockable terrace french doors so one can come and go through the terrace without having to go through the hotel). Room was spotless and very up to date (and very private - I never heard another guest while staying in our room, but we saw other guests at various times around the grounds, terraces, bar, waterfront, etc.. Fabulous breakfast buffet included, on a lovely terrace, always got our days there off to a great start. Santa Margherita is a charming town with lots of places to eat and shop at, a lively waterfront (including ferry and charter boat service), and a train station within 35 minutes of Cinque Terre (for easy day trips) and service to/from major cities (Milan, Genoa, Florence, etc.). I would highly recommend Hotel Metropole!

I wish we could have booked a 2-bed, 2-bath room. Other than that, everything was fantastic!

Exceptional customer service in a beautiful hotel

This hotel is beautiful, in a great location, with amazing views, landscaping and pool. It was exceptionally clean, and one of the largest rooms I’ve ever had in Europe. One thing to note was the incredible customer service from all the staff. You feel like you’re staying at a hotel 2x the cost. Breakfast was so good too - I don’t typically go for that, but it was such a nice addition here.

No complaints - would return again tomorrow!

The landscape of the hotel is so good that whereever you walk by you have a great view. Also the location is very good. The beach that belongs to hotel was very close to our room. And the balcony shows you the lovely view of the hotel and santa margherita sea. The breakfast is also satisfying.

There is no iron in the room and they don't even bring the iron to to room as a service. If you need ironing, you have to leave your clothes for hotel laundry with payment and also it's not a good choice for short holiday to wait them back.

AMAZING STAY!!

Incredible property! We had full board and it was so lovely! The location is perfect, hospitality and amenities were fantastic there wasn’t a bad thing about it! We didn’t want to leave and we can’t wait to go back!

It was okay.

The grounds were nice. It was too early for the pool and beach, but I constantly saw people working on the grounds. Good sign.

Doesn't live to the expectations.

We liked that we are at Santa Margherita Ligure with all its magnificent views, historic buildings, beaches, restaurants and beauty. View to the garden was pleasant. Breakfast was ok.

Our room was very small. There was hardly any space between the bed and the wall. The pillows were disappointing and too soft. The building was old, if not historic, so the bathtub looked like it belonged to the Mussolini era. The wifi was weak. The breakfast was served by too many staff members. I suppose this was a tradition from the 1920s, when this place was frequented by glamorous ladies in fur and diamonds, but now it seems out of place.

The hotel is a SCAM

it’s a SCAM , the rooms wasn’t like the pictures at all and the rooms smells stink because the hotel is very old and the Air condition was dripping water over my daughter head, and when we asked the manager to change the rooms he refused and when we asked him to check out he charged us for the whole reservation .

everything is Scam , location is very bad , breakfast is very poor , rooms are stinky, and the stuff is very very mean . and I will sue booking.com for this Scam if they didn’t remove this hotel from the hotel list.
