We have stayed at the Wilder house many times. It never disappoints. This historical home has everything needed for a comfortable stay, plus walkable to Whiskey Row and the Courthouse. We will be back again!

Good - fantastic historical home, excellent period décor, only 2 blocks to downtown Prescott. Bad – Window air conditioning in upstairs hall does not cool the upstairs bedroom or the upstairs bathroom making the entire second floor unusable during the summer (Prescott was 100 degrees during the day & did not cool down the upstairs sufficiently at night to use the bedroom. We didn’t need a 3rd bedroom until the last night and the instructions to cool the room didn’t work. The final morning of our stay I found one of my guests sleeping on the floor because this bedroom was not usable). The icemaker in the refrigerator does not work. The advertised island in the kitchen is nonexistent. Because the house is old, some of the doors do not latch when closed. Reporting needs is through a phone number that contacts an “AI” bot that indicates it cannot contact the host when there is a problem but tries to solve the problem itself. It is not very good at doing that. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner, it is not provided. Bring extra kitchen towels if you have a longer stay as only one is provided. The host was not professional. After hosting our own VRBO for over 10 years this is the first host I have encountered who had no concern that his property had a major flaw that caused a guest to sleep on the floor but was more interested in insulting his guests. I recommend reconsidering this property, especially during summer months. It isn't worth the price!

My daughter wanted to go to Prescott for her birthday, enjoy the antique shops, the town square and restaurants. She loves all things old and really enjoyed the history and beauty of this historic home. It was clean and just as described. Erik was awesome, even answering silly questions for us. Great stay over all!

This house was perfect for our girls trip. The house was everything we were hoping for. We had a great time antiquing and we kayaked on Watson lake. (All though the lake was a bit cold and very windy) would love to stay again soon!

We came to town for the Whiskey Row Run and had an incredible time! The house was a step back into history of Prescott. It’s charming and cozy and the beds were super comfortable. Would definitely come back to stay at the Wilder House.

Brought back memories of visiting my grandparents' house when I was little. Except this is updated with modern conveniences and within walking distance of all that makes downtown Prescott such a special place. Wonderful visit.

Location is everything and this place was super close to Whiskey Row and all the shops and restaurants you would want to go to. On top of that the house was very cool and unique. It was almost like stepping back in time but some modern day comforts!! We will definitely stay here again!

7 members of my hiking club rented this lovely historic property to celebrate New Years in Prescott. It was well stocked, comfortable and had lots of hot water and heat on our snowy nights! We especially enjoyed the parlor and the photos of Tip and Mary Bacon Wilder! We hiked to the Giant Alligator Juniper Tree, saved by the Granite Mtn Hot Shots in the Doce Fire of 2013, just two weeks before 19 of them tragically perished in the Yarnell Fire.

My friends and I really enjoy the home. The location is close enough to Whiskey Row. The home is amazing. Built in the 1800's and is on the National Registry of Historical Homes. The rooms are spread out and not on top of each other. Plenty of space for our group. The owner was easy to communicate with and was quick to respond. We were here in December and it was cold outside and warm inside. I would love to be back in Prescott in the Summer and stay here again!

We all loved being able to step back in time in this special Victorian! And we loved it being in the center of Old town Prescott- so easy to walk for shopping and so many great restaurants!

The house was decorated vintage style with modern amenities. Situated walking distance from whiskey row. Could do with a few towel racks in the restrooms. There were six of us and no where to hang damp towels. Beds were comfortable. Front bedroom drapes did not provide privacy at night. Beautiful lace style but no backing to preventsomeone from seeing in if the lights were on at night.
Kitchen provided all we needed! Quaint and bright!
Overall a very enjoyable home.

The location, just south of Whiskey Row, was perfect for us, as we were participating in an event in the area. The home itself was very basic, nothing extra, nothing special other than being historic

This property was just as listed! Very cool and the age of the home is amazing! Very clean and organized and had everything we needed for our stay!

This house was perfect for our girls weekend. The house itself had perfect sleeping arrangements, a mostly fully equipped kitchen (a cookie sheet and food storage containers would be a nice touch), and was within easy walking distance of the courthouse square. Communication with property manager was always immediate and extremely helpful. Great stay all around.

Wilder House
We were not sent the check in information I had to contact The manager. On Saturday night at 1:10 AM the smoke detectors went off in the dining room and lower back bedroom. It scared us all half out of our wits. There is only parking for 1 vehicle which is extremely inconvenient. Most of the lights don’t work. The upstairs TV kept cutting out on the sound. Don’t recommend this place nor would I stay here again. 😤

Truly Historic
The home was super clean and located within walking distance to the square. I would have appreciated more interior photos on the listing. It is a little too old for me, much like staying in a museum.

Location and charm - 8 thumbs up!
There were 4 of us that stayed here, hence the 8 thumbs. Loved the home, and location can’t be beat! Anything built in the 1800’s is gonna have some quirks, so if you don’t mind some creaky floors this place is for you. The property manager was on top of some immediate needs we had and was very responsive. Beds were very comfy too!

Fun house and excellent location
It was a wonderful stay. It’s a really nice house and it’s only a half mile down the street from the town square. There is an electric vehicle charger at the property and that turned out to be really convenient!

Sweet Retreat
The charm of territorial history is magnified by the Wilder House and its surroundings. It is obviously an OLD house which is the attraction. It has been modernized for a comfortable stay but still wears her character and quirks well.

Historical Charm-Great Location!
We were in town visiting family and wanted to stay close to downtown so we could walk as much as possible. The house is a couple blocks from downtown, super convenient to restaurants and shopping. The home was very clean, well-stocked, and full of historical charm! Erik was easy to work with and responded quickly to our questions. We will be back!

I have never had such a difficult check in process and all my VRBO experiences. The owner was more concerned about charging me for additional fees then giving me access to the property. I was literally on my way to the property and still did not have an access code to enter the property . I emailed him to tell him that I had seven people joining me and that I still did not have an access code .He then sent me a message back stating that I owed additional money for the extra person. The advertising states in several places and it sleeps up to eight people. I fully paid before the trip. The owner then messaged me back telling me that I really needed to let him know if this additional person was coming because of the additional charges instead of giving me the access code to enter. This was extremely irritating to me showing that the money was more important than his customer being able to enter the property. I once again emailed him telling him I STILL did not receive an access code to the property. He then told me that I should have received an email from someone named August Lock. It turns out August is an application on your phone not a person which he did not explain . He also failed to tell me that I had to download an app on my phone to get into the door. I had much difficulty locking the door due to the door locks being so old.. complete breakdown in communication obviously. this again made me extremely upset and frustrated before I even walked in the door. The pillows there were disgusting brownish. Also I got a message from the owner asking why the smoke alarms were going off. His email message to me he was in a condescending tone saying “ it’s not alarm is going off what is going on over there ?” which felt very voyeuristic to me. The fact was we were making bacon and the windows do not open hence the smoke alarms went off. Overall I would say that the owner was very rude to me I did not at all feel welcome. The property itself is a beautiful old historical home In a great location, however due to the owners behavior I would never recommend this to anyone.

Christmas stay
I rented the house to spend time together with all my sons who live in different cities. The house was cozy and it felt like home! Loved it!

accomodations
Issues with the heating and the door locks. Unable to access the property electronically (keyless entry) and a worker had to let us in. Owner unable to fix the issue and finally were given a key for access. Problem with checking out, as we were unable to lock the house when leaving. Felt as though the owner was not very understanding and trusting of our abilities or knowledge as he was condescending when presented with our dilemmas.

Unique place. Great host.
The place was beautiful. It does get a tad bit stuffy if you’re used to central air. The host was beyond friendly and extremely accommodating. Highly recommend.
