Good location. Village has all the facilities- supermarket. Bars. Restaurants. Great butchers. Villa only 5 mts uphill from village. We had a 2 yr old and there is a playground and pedestrian area in town to run around. Poll good. Deborah Property Manager helped us solve issues around WiFi and Washing Machine. Need a car if you want to go anywhere. We stayed around the village but did walk up a very steep hill to a Wine Tasting at Capannelle Would recommend this Wine Tasting as lovely setting and Tasting Tour great.

Gaiole is a great place to stay. Quiet yet good restaurants and facilities only 5 minute walk downhill. There are great views from the property and we loved the pool and terraces. The property was clean and well equipped.
Plenty of wine tasting opportunities nearby eg Castle Meleto and Cantalici.
The roads are very twisty so it takes a while to get further afield. Siena and Florence both good day trips. For Florence we took a train from Montevarchi 30 mins drive away. You definitely need a car unless you plan to cycle!

The accommodation is spacious with several divisions. Rooms vary in size but are all equipped with a clean and simple bathroom. Kitchens are well equipped and the terrace is easily accessible. The swimming pool is one floor higher and can be reached by a spiral staircase. The pool is shared with residents of the complex.
The complex is located in a small village where you can get a tasty Italian breakfast with good coffee in the morning within walking distance and sit among the locals. The village also houses some good osterias where you can enjoy the Italian cuisine in the evening.

The house was lovely and exactly as described. The children were happy there were single beds (they've been let down before). The pool was very clean and for most of the week it was our private pool, as no-one else was using it.
The village was a short walk down a hill, easier going than coming back! There is a Co-op (a small supermarket), several bars ( for coffee in the morning) and a fabulous wine bar (for pre-dinner drinks). There were plenty of good restaurants, from high end to family owned, which meant we didn't have to drive and could sample the wines of the chianti region. Between the two families we tried them all. We had a couple of evenings with rain and the restaurants worked with us so we could eat outdoors under huge umbrellas.
Every-one enjoyed the holiday, it was restful but busy with trips to several nearby villages and a trip to Assisi.
Would highly recommend this house and village.

The house was exactly as described on Vrbo it was clean and well maintained, with air-conditioning throughout. The pool was beautiful. The house is within easy reach of Sienna, Florence and San Gimignano by car. Chianti Sculpture Park was also lovely with evening concerts on Tuesdays through the summer. It was handy to be within walking distance of some lovely restaurants and bars within the village too. Would highly recommend

Great location
The property was tastefully presented and very clean. It's in a great location, being very close to the town for restaurants, shop etc and for travelling to other towns like Siena. Deborah, the caretaker, was lovely and very helpful in sorting out any problems.

Quaint Chianti Town of Gaiole - Villa Near Town Square's Shops & Restaurants
We (two couples) enjoyed staying at this villa in the quaint Chianti village of Gaiole-in-Chainti. Being able to walk (about two blocks) to the village square with its shops and restaurants was very convenient and enjoyable. Gaiole was conveniently located to: other interesting Chianti villages - Radda, Greve, and Castellina; plus a short, day-trip train ride from Montevarchi to Firenze (Florence); and easy driving distances to Siena, San Gimignano, Assisi and Orvieto.
An Instruction Manual (in various languages) of the various appliances and equipment within the villa would have been very helpful. The Owner said there had previously been such a manual, and he will check with the local manager as to its whereabouts.
Overall, we were pleased with our Villa, its close proximity to the village square, and the village's Chianti region influence.

A well appointed smart house with patios and pool, a few minutes walk from a nice village
It's a smart modern house, well designed and appointed. There are several patios and terraces, and a good pool shared with a couple of other houses. The views are lovely. It's a few minutes walk to Gaiole, which has all the shops and wine tasting opportunities you could need.

Our family stayed at the property for nine nights. Overall it was a very good experience. The unit has a kitchen, living area, three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It is fully air-conditioned, with outside parking and a garage. The unit is part of a 40-unit community (borgo) constructed about eight years ago, and located immediately adjacent to the village of Gaiole. Residence includes use of a large pool located in an open area behind the unit and shared by 5 other units. Upon arrival we were met by a local caretaker and given two key sets. The place was clean and well maintained.
Pluses: All bedrooms have a shower. Parking availability is good. Modern, fully furnished residence. Proximity to a quaint village with a bakery, butcher shop, several restaurants, wine shops, a pub with craft beer, a bank with ATM, a fruit shop, a grocery shop, a coffee shop, and a bike shop. Washer/dryer, iron, in basement. Location is accessible by car to many Tuscan hill towns, wineries, and a designer outlet mall. Very comfortable for the five people in our group. The pool was a great plus after a day of sightseeing.
Minuses: Top floor bedroom and bathroom are tiny..but has exclusive use of a large attached terrace. Caretaker contact lives across the street but doesn't speak English. There were no written instructions such as how to operate the a/c, what to do with the garbage, or resources in the village.

Life doesn't get much more perfect
A small Italian village with a pedestrianised main street nestled in a mountain valley. Three congenial cafes. Some wonderful restaurants. A small supermarket. A sprinkling of wine specialists and delis selling local produce - everything from olive oil to must-eat porchetta. The whiff of wood smoke in the autumnal air. And a short stroll away, a spacious villa complete with swimming pool. If heaven exists, I want it to be like this.

We spent one week in this Villa and really enjoyed it. The place is large with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. The place was very clean when we arrived. The village is charming and we enjoyed morning coffee as well as evening wine in the village. We would only suggest the owner provide a guest book with instructions on using the WiFi as well as appliances in the Villa i.e washer, dryer, stove, etc. Also the pots and pans really need to be replaced. Would definitely recommend this place.

This house is the best value in Tuscany, if not the whole of Italy. Four friends and I spent a week there in the beginning of April and we had a blast. It can easily sleep 8 people. The bedroom on the top floor is a bit small and the queen size bed fills it but it has a huge terrace off it and it's own bathroom. The 2 other bedrooms are on the second floor (first floor in Europe) and they have 2 single beds each. Both these rooms are very large with huge windows to let the sun in. There is also a large bathroom on that floor. The main floor has an eat in kitchen and a large living room with a comfortable queen size sofa bed. There is a 3rd complete bathroom on that floor. The house is very conveniently located, an easy driving distance to all the famous Chianti villages as well as Siena, San Gimiagno (sp??) and Voltera. It's located in the village and not in the middle of nowhere like most villas in Tuscany so you can walk to the shops and restaurants without having to depend on a car to go everywhere. There are many restaurants from cheap pizzerias to gastronomical eateries.Even though we loved the house, there are a couple of areas that need improving: the house needs more wine glasses. There is a dishwasher in the kitchen but we always ran out of wine glasses. The kitchen could also do with new pots and pans. The ones there were old with the non-stick coating peeling. One last thing: we were there in April and the nights were cold. The house has heating but it took us a while to figure out. It might help to have a manual or somebody able to provide explanations (in English). In spite of these few glitches, we really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, quiet and well maintained. We would not hesitate to recommend this house to any of our friends.
