This is a lovely cottage tucked away in Derbyshire. The cottage is lovely and cosy and very well equipped. The open plan downstairs makes it ideal for families to spend time together. There are 2 bedrooms each well appointed en-suite bathrooms. Ideally located for some nice walks. All in all excellent

Can’t recommend Cavendish cottage enough. It is decorated and equipped to a very high standard creating a very comfortable place to come back to after a day out exploring. Helen is a fab host who always responds to questions and queries quickly and is really helpful. Location is perfect within easy walking distance of Ashover which boasts 3 excellent pubs, we tried them all! Also great walks starting at the front door which is refreshing. Matlock is a lovely little town providing you with everything you might need and more and we enjoyed a fab walk to Chatsworth estate. We were a party of 2 couples and found Cavendish absolutely perfect for our needs

Cavendish cottage was so much more than I expected. From the thoughtful welcome package through to the luxury bathrooms. I couldn’t have asked for better. A big thumbs up to Helen.

The cleanest, most comfortable, and most conveniently positioned cottage that we have stayed in. Couldn’t praise the owners enough!!

The whole experience from initial enquiry, deposit payment, final payment, key & direction details to actual arrival has been seamless. Helen was very prompt with any enquiries too.
The cottage was absolutely spotless and very tastefully and peacefully decorated.
All paved the way for a very enjoyable, restfully girlie weekend with my family.
Thank you for the chocolates and gift pen.
Perfectly located for easy access to the RHS Chatsworth Flower Show
Will definitely book again.
Only sorry we had to leave before time as we had work on Monday.
Thank you Helen!

Everything about this booking and experience was perfect.
We wanted somewhere to stay where we could take the dogs and provide our daughter with a retreat from her university studies. So could not believe our luck when this came up in our searches.
Communication with the owner were quick, efficient and friendly. The booking process via Home and Away was easy and the pricing good value for money.
Sat Nav guided us in and with the owners instructions, finding the property was easy. It is set well off the main road and is so quiet and peaceful.
The cottage itself is superb. The owners taste in finishing and furnishing is quality. We wanted for nothing. There were also some nice finishing touches like welcome messages, tea, coffee, shower gels etc that made it even more perfect.
While there the Owners are attentive and ever so friendly. If you like walking you are surrounded by farms and public footpaths. Scenery is fantastic.
If you want shops - there about 15 minutes away. As is Bakewell if you fancy some tarts.
As our daughter is in Sheffield (40 mins) we will most definitely be back.
Thanks Helen.

Spent 3 nights in this cottage which is better than the photos! It is tucked away in a tiny hamlet but close enough to the main road to make it easily accessible. The attention to detail was superb.
The small fenced garden next to the cottage is perfect for dogs ((and their owners) and we were even paid a visit by the woodpecker amongst other birds.
Many a happy hour could be idled away just relaxing at the cottage, if so inclined.
Definitely a five star stay.

A very clean and tidy cottage, in a relaxing location but within 10 minutes of amenities etc. The owners were friendly and able to recommend activities. We were impressed with what was provided, DVDs, books, games etc particularly given the cottage had only opened a couple of months previously. The owners also provided storage in a secure wetroom for our bikes and walking gear. We would definitely recommend the cottage to our friends and family and hope to visit again ourselves!

Cavendish Cottage surpassed our expectations. It was tastefully decorated though out, extremely clean and very comfortable with great attention to detail - every appliance or utensile has been provided and all colour corodinated. There were even a couple of dog bowls and a towel under the sink should we have forgotten to bring them. The en suite bathrooms were contemporary and we'll equipped. The property is set in well maintained grounds in a rural location where the only disturbance is sheep and birds. Plenty of walks on the doorstep with facilities close at hand, a short car journey away. The nearest pub is walking distance but you will need the wind up torch provided as no street lamps on narrow country roads. It was a great place from which to explore. Our only complaint was that our 3 night stay to celebrate my birthday went too quickly, we would happily have spent another week. Maybe next time?

Having stayed in the Peak District many times this was my first time staying at this cottage (as it has only been listed this year). I have to say this was one of the best places I have stayed with HomeAway (and I have stayed at many). Everything about the cottage was of a very high standard. The cottage itself was beautifully decorated and presented and was well stocked with everything we needed for our break. It was only a short distance from Matlock but felt so peaceful and was surrounded by wildlife. The owners really looked after us and kindly provided us with items for the children to use during our stay which was a really nice touch. There is a lot to do for families in the area. We went to the Heights of Abraham, The Bakewell Show, Gullivers at Matlock, Hardwick Hall and The Chestnut Centre at Chapel en le Frith and we enjoyed them all. I would definitely recommend this property for families as our children are already asking when we can go back for another stay!
