The property offers a picturesque and authentic Tuscany experience with welcoming hosts, beautiful surroundings, and a charming rustic villa. Highly recommended for a memorable stay!

Gianni’s house was just what we wanted: quiet, picturesque, and in a great location. The house was very clean and had all that we needed. Although a bit difficult to find at first (it’s down a dirt road outside of town), the rural location tucked in between the olive orchards and grape vines was just heavenly. My family and I had a wonderful time exploring the nearby Tuscan hill towns. The only thing about the villa that’s inaccurate in the write-up is that it really only sleeps 8 people comfortably. Otherwise, Gianna’s place in the heart of Chianti was just perfect.

The property was as beautiful as the pictures! Gianna and her family live next door and they were all very welcoming and kind to us. We all had a really great experience!

The House was greatly decorated and idally situated near Firenze and in the middle of the Chianti area. We had really a good time despite the weather which was a little rainy. The only missing thing was the swiming pool which was not in proper order for this time of the year. The people were very Nice and helpfull. We were really welcomed as guests, and this was a great experience. Thanks again for all ! We we certainly be back another time, and we already sent the link to the house to familly and friends.

This beautiful rustic villa located in the heart of the Chianty hills of Tuscany was the perfect setting for visiting some of the most amazing places we have always wanted to visit and more. The Italian family that owns the villa and live right next to it treated us like family and were incredibly helpful in giving us all type of travel information that made are visit even more special. If you are looking for an authentic Tuscany experience this is the place for you. We loved it!!!

The four women travelling with me to Tuscany and Rome were asked to rate their number one experience. All four said The villa!. Situated outside the charming little town of Mercatale, the villa is just what you see in the pictures. Gianna and her family live next door in the family home. They were available for anything we needed and even made dinner reservations for us at a local restaurant. The villa is charming with beamed ceilings and tile floors. The plumbing was modern as were the appliances. There is a washer but not dryer, so unless its really warm enough outside to dry your clothes, dont count on doing your laundry here. The beds were comfortable. It was a little tricky for those staying upstairs to get their luggage up the spiral staircase, but they made it! Dont count on internet. When it is available its spotty, so just leave your social media at home. There is a COOP market in town that is a full service grocery store. The little town of Mercatale also has a cooperative central building with a bar in the front, game rooms on the side and a pizza parlor in the back. The food and service were wonderful. Take cash, they dont take credit cards. This was a wonderful location to get to Florence, Siena and the unforgettable San Gimignano. Gianna provided us with adequate linens. Bring your own bath soap and shampoo: this isnt a hotel! The dishwasher worked great as did the microwave and gas stove. A hair dryer is provided, you just have to add your adaptor. The three bathrooms were more than adequate for us. We loved gathering in the evenings sharing our day over a glass of the villas red wine which we purchased at a very reasonable price from Gianna. Would HIGHLY recommend and we will definitely be returning!

House ok, utensils need upgrading, lawn area for children playing needs severe maintenance. Parking is outside of property which is not secure AND is not under lighting, so quite dangerous at night.
Dog NOT under control, and is very defensive of property, i.e. extemely snarly and attacking. I have two fang marks to prove it. Required one week of antibiotics. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN.

We are a couple in our 40's travelling with our 16yr old daughter and her best friend. We used sat nav to get us from the car hire place to the house, and it was late when we arrived due to flight delays. There was a toll of €0.70 to pay on the way (you collect a ticket at one place, and pay for it as you exit the motorway by handing in the ticket). We were greeted on our arrival and shown around. Gianna doesn't speak much English but we figured it all out. Light switches are in random places. Use the yellow button on sky to change it to English. The wifi is intermittent but it was a good excuse for everyone to be on their phones less. The house is very rustic, so don't expect sleek edges and fancy electronics. It's an authentic farmhouse full of nooks and crannies, and we loved it! It was clean and had everything we needed (including washing machine). We enjoyed the upstairs outside dining area, and also the BBQ. We loved exploring all the different rooms and places to sit. The pool was clean and in a secluded area next to a lovely vineyard. The girls were in it all day. There are 2 friendly farm cats, and a dog.
Gianna had bought us cheese, bread, salami and water for our arrival and left us a bottle of their own wine (all of which was very good).
The co-op in town isn't open late so on our first night we found a little pizza place in town, and as the following day was Sunday we went to the larger co-op in San casciano as it was open till 1pm.
From the location we visited Florence, Cinque Terre and Pisa, and Siena. It's in a great position for all. Beware of the toll roads though; carry cash!
Out of all the places we visited, we all loved Siena the best. It was easy to park (Via Esterna di Fontebranda), plenty toilets, not so busy, pretty architecture and plenty places to eat without having to fight through big crowds.
We read the poor review about the house not being clean, and that it's in the valley so there wasn't a view. Honestly, we found the house perfect. And we loved the peaceful location. And I enjoyed lying by the pool and looking at the vineyard.
If I had to look for a negative, I'd say lack of aircon, but there are plenty fans, and once the lights were off we'd leave the doors open.
Don't forget your mosquito spray!

The property was very dirty when we arrived. It looked like nobody cleaned it since the last season. All the equipment were in line with the description, although bathrooms were rather used and not well maintained. The swimming pool practically does not exist and it was good we did not need it because of the weather. If everything is well maintained and clean it could be a nice place to stay.
Be careful, the house is rather in the valley not on the hill. You will not have a nice view from the most of the rooms in the house.

"Accommodations were outstanding as were the amenities and the surroundings. We were very content with the entire experience. The owners, Giana and Giustino were great and very accommodating and spoke enough English for us to communicate. Overall, it was a great experience and I can not wait to return."
