Over $65,000 just put into the property in October & November 2024. New furnace & central air conditioning added. New carpet & padding. New window treatments in the kitchen, dining room & living room. Brand new roof. Deck repairs & upgrades. House & deck newly painted. New gaming system upstairs. Too much time & money recently invested to have any of it damaged or ruined. I am only interested in renting it to guests who will care for the property & leave it as they found it.
20 minutes south of Flagstaff----Munds Park is an enclave of mountainside homes where you feel away from it all. Come snuggle into our hillside cabin with 3br 3ba which comfortably sleeps 10 with a toasty fireplace, high speed free wifi, 65 inch HDTV, and fully equipped kitchen ready to cook anything you bring. The panoramic view decks are also terrific for outdoor bbq on pleasant summer evenings. Sunsets from the back deck are stunning with the sky ablaze in light over the view of forest trees and mountain peaks.
This cozy cabin lies on an oversized corner lot surrounded by pines and forest! The large wrap around deck offers stunning mile long views—hard to find in Munds Park, or anywhere. Leave back door and windows open to enjoy the crisp mountain air. 20 minutes to Flagstaff, 30 minutes to Sedona and 90 minutes to the Grand Canyon--the location and forest hideaway feel cannot be beat. Why pay more "in town" when you can stay here and have superior accommodations and privacy in the pines?!
This high ceiling but classic forest cabin is stylish, with a timeless woodsy ambiance that includes beautiful forested views from every room. 3 bedrooms, 3 full baths two of which have tubs (good for bathing kids).
The high beam ceiling great room spills directly into the kitchen and dining areas allowing group living, whether enjoying the fireplace, meals together, card games, board games, puzzles, etc. Upstairs is the game room and 65 inch flat screen HD television where you'll find a bumper pool table, board games, puzzles, darts and more. The game room likewise has high ceilings with wood beams for the authentic cabin feel. The kids can all be upstairs in the game room while the adults calmly read or relax in the downstairs kitchen, living room/great room, or the two bedrooms downstairs.
The property boasts a reliable fireplace generating is cozy and warm lodge like feeling in the non-summer months.
There are three bedrooms and three full baths which can sleep up to 12 people. The master has a queen bed, AND a double bunk bed, so you can comfortably sleep up to 4 in the master bedroom alone which has en-suite bath/tub. The other two bedrooms are one downstairs (again, the third bathroom is right outside the third bedroom’s door) and another one upstairs (with shower/tub and toilet immediately outside of Game Room) . The house in many ways lives as three homes in one: The Game Room/Bath/Bedroom upstairs with stunning view; the Kitchen Great Room and Family room; and one of the finest outdoor deck spaces, perhaps in all of Munds Park.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, just bring your own food. Paper towels and toilet paper are included with your stay, as are soap/body wash, shampoo and even detergent if you need to do a load of laundry.
The large outdoor decks are great for eating or relaxing while enjoying the trees and view. The home features wifi internet service, and there is a TV in the Great Room and the 65 inch flat screen HDTV in upstairs GAME ROOM.
Ample space on slab driveway for 4 cars, and of course additional on street parking is usually quite easy to find.
Munds Park offers everything Flagstaff has to offer and then some. Leave the valley heat behind. Only a 1 hour 45 minute drive from Phoenix/Scottsdale. Temperatures in the summer are usually 30 degrees lower, so 110 in Phoenix is 80 degrees in Munds Park. Winter wonderland also in the winter months with reliable annual snowfall, skiing and snow boarding at SnowBowl about 35 minutes drive north.
Less than 10 minutes walk from the home is over 25,000 acres of the Coconino National Forest. Great for hiking, off road vehicles, mountain biking or overnight camping. Also, walking distance to Lake O'Dell for fishing, kayaking or canoeing. Pinewood Golf Club to hit some golf balls, or play a scenic round of golf, is less than a mile from the cabin.
There are 2 food marts/gas and 2 restaurants in Munds Park and an ATV rental shop and a gift shop. We typically go up to Flagstaff every few days when we need more food or want to catch a film or a festival. It's 15 minute drive north on the I-17.
One Day Adventures:
Many Northern Arizona adventures are close by, try the delightfully scenic drive to Oak Creek/Slide Rock and Sedona for world class dining and art galleries, only a 30 minute drive. Head north to Snow Bowl atop the San Francisco Peaks for some skiing and snowboarding in the winter or just lunch and a skyride in the summer. Many enjoy the Grand Canyon Railway scenic train ride from Williams, and Bearizona is really fun, the bears come right up to your car! Our kids favorite is Flagstaff Extreme, a crazy rope adventure park high in the trees located by the Flagstaff fairgrounds just 10 minutes from Munds Park. And don't forget Meteor Crater a short drive out of Flagstaff where you can see a massive crater formed by a meteor . So many wonderful day trips, and all close by for single day adventures! Our personal favorite is Downtown Flagstaff where you'll find great dining, shopping, art and entertainment, like outdoor movies in Heritage Square during the summer and terrific bands in the fall/winter evenings.

The process was very easy, but listing wasnt completely accurate. My family and I was very disappointed in the house itself, not the area. The house is older and somewhat run down. The house smells like dog, and spider webs all inside the home. The deck has loose boards and also spider webs everywhere (I understand its in the woods but the homeowners should most definitely follow up on their cleaning service). The arcade (which my kids were excited for) was very old and sometimes didnt work(older). The bumper table is a complete waste of time( bumpers are not tight, in fact they pull right out) should of been thrown out years ago). Very disappointed to say the least. On the upside, the area is very nice, weather is even better. So hopefully this helps the next person move on from this home and to experience a better home without paying this type of money and not enjoying your stay. I would never rent here again!

Family getaway, was wonderful, super clean, had all we needed, communication was super easy. Would definitely go back

We had never been to the Grand Canyon and decided to take a mini vacation to bring in the new year. We decided to combine three families, so a hotel would not be preferred.
We found this house on line and with all site unseen decisions we were a little sceptical. When we arrived however the place was so cozy and had everything in the kitchen we needed. We loved the fireplace, added the perfect effects to bring in the new year. If we ever visit Northern Arizona and I’m sure we will, this rental will be considered. I highly recommend if you need an affordable housing option for vacation.

This was a great location for a little getaway from the city. It’s so spacious for families to come and stay together in a beautiful area! It’s so peaceful and perfect for little kids to stay as well.

Great location in Mund’s Park. We were welcomed by a sprinkle and a beautiful sunset on the deck. The deck area is great. The kids also had fun up in the game room. Unfortunately, we didn’t have hot water and had to leave early. There was also a water leak in the kitchen, two smoke detectors needed batteries and the bbq regulator was broken. The owner was great and handled it well, but the place needs some work.

We were looking for a last-minute summer vacation and found this a perfect house to enjoy a few days in the woods! The host, Dan, was great to communicate and provide us anything we needed to keep us cool and relaxed. The house is a perfect size for up to 8-10 people though we only a family of 4 and the right distance from everything. We'd definitely stay here again -- especially in the winter as it's the perfect spot for any season!

One thing i can tell you about the location and the property itself, SERENITY. it gives you the calmess in the location. The property may seem old but clean and comfortable. I was worried about about the temperature in the property due to lack of air conditioner; however, it made our stay comfortable and surprisingly cool inside. I ate my meal on the back patio and wow. Thank you.

We loving coming and staying here. The back porch is amazing for a writer and family to just unplug and reconnect. The property was just as we were told it would be and very clean. The manager is easy to talk to and get a hold of. They were even able to accommodate our late check out. We can’t wait for our next stay.

We have stayed here years back, it was great! Don’t know if it was pet friendly then. First time taking a pet on a trip with me, and probably won’t again if it’s pet friendly. Smelled of previous pets.

Nice Cabin
The location is great and cabin spacious. Listing states there's A/C but it is portable and I wished they left connected before our arrival. Some appliances need to be updated, fridge took a while to cool and dryer did not work (we didn't noticed until washer was done). Carpet has a lot of stains but it is understandable since pets are allowed. I'll definitely plan to go back. Owner responded quick to messages.

Great stay
This was a great stay for a big family. It was very spacious and had everything you would need. It did have a little smell of dog pee upstairs but was understandable since Dan does allows dogs. It just needs a little time to getting used to. Me and family loved everything about this house. Dan was also great at communicating and instructing where things were. 10/10 would stay again.

Extremely satisfied with my stay
This home was very clean inside and outside of the home. My family and I had lots of fun playing in the snow. By the second day, we were already planning to schedule a second trip in this property. The owner was kind enough to approve our early check in and later check out.
Minor issue: the owner does not respond through the app, I had to send him a text message (which he is very responsive there).
Overall: I recommend this property 👌

So I booked our stay on October 19th, exactly one month before arriving to Arizona for vacation with my parents (older folks)
On Friday November 19th, the day we were supposed to check in, I received text message from the owner that there is no propane in the furnace, therefore he suggested to use space heaters.
After long day traveling we finally make it to the house and it was 32F outside with 50F inside, to say we were shocked is understated.. no firewood, so we had to run to the gas station down the street to buy fire wood. Space heaters were absolutely useless and the temperature didn’t go above 59F after 2 hours of trying to warm up the place.
I’m sorry it is bad business letting travelers know on the day of the arrival that house has no heat :( then stop responding to text messages and calls, and refuse to issue refund.
I hope who reads this review understands that Dan is not trustworthy and reliable host.
To top it off property was filthy, carpets were nasty and had dirty stains all over, furniture had creasy spots all over and desperately needs some deep cleaning.
Kitchen had creasy stains all over.
I was able to reserve another property the next day at Munds Park (fortunately there was one available ) and we were able to turn around our vacation and have a good time.
I definitely don’t recommend doing business with Dan and it was very unpleasant and unprofessional experience for my family

Desperately needs a deep clean & updating
Dan, the owner, was very communicative and allowed us to check in about an hour early though he forgot to set our code on the lock so we had to wait outside with kids for about 40 minutes to get in when we arrived.
The deck is expansive and gated for little ones and pets. We spent ample hours outside. The living room/dining room/kitchen is cozy with the fireplace. Some basic utensils missing from the kitchen. No working lighter for the fireplace, had to run and buy one. One roll of paper towels is definitely not enough for 6 people for 3 days, also had to run and buy.
My biggest dissatisfaction was the carpet throughout the cabin, absolutely disgusting. It is stained everywhere. I felt gross walking in socks on it and when we did, our socks were filthy. The “high-speed Wi-Fi” is definitely not high speed nor did it allow for multiple devices at the same time. Lastly, the patch work glass with tape that holds the impromptu AC system is extremely trashy. BTW, we would have been fine with all of this had it been listed in the VRBO listing. No pics of the carpet are featured nor is the AC and the Wi-Fi is definitely not as advertised.
The outside property is beautiful and we loved the deck. If the owner would spend some money on a few items, this would be a beautiful property. We would not rent again as is.

Quiet Cabin
Quiet cabin perfect for a big group. The cabin is pretty much as pictured although I found it to be smaller than what the description makes it out to be. It's your typical two story home with plenty of space and beds to comfortably accommodate a group of 10. House is older and it shows but most things are kept up well. If you're looking for fancy or modern this isn't for you but if you want to enjoy a comfortable home in a beautiful setting then this is it. Location is great! Nestled nicely into "residential forest" so you do have neighbors on all sides but you wouldn't know it cuz it's incredibly calm and quiet. Not far from Sedona or Flagstaff and only about 1.75 hours from the Grand Canyon.

Getaway
Overall we had a good experience at the hidden vista. We did run into a snag checking in as the code to the door was not in the email sent. So we had to connect with Dan to get it set up. It is centrally located for Sedona, Grand Canyon and flagstaff. Plenty of space for our family and we enjoyed the mornings and evenings on the deck. Only improvements we would suggest is replacing the carpet as the stains make you feel the carpet isn’t clean. everything else was as expected and we enjoyed our stay.

Such a great location and a cute property! Very clean and stocked with anything you’d need for a weekend away. We will definitely book here again!

Great stay
We rented this property because of the outdoor space. The back deck was amazing and great additional living space. The kids loved the loft. There weren’t any mixing bowls, which was odd, but we were able to make do.

Large home for big families!
Overall, we loved our stay here. The property owner was quick to respond to any inquiries and the check in process was easy.
Pros:
Space - the three bathrooms were essential to our stay. The upstairs (that has a game/media space, bedroom and bathroom) was a great hang out and would be perfect for all the kids to lounge in, if you have them. The patio was large enough to accommodate a big group. There’s more than enough places to sleep comfortably with up to 12. We only had 5 but I’ve been in some other rentals that say they hold 12 but it’s including air mattresses in the kitchen or something ridiculous. This home definitely has the space!
Cons:
It’s a little outdated and I’m not a super fan of carpet (mainly for my fear of spilling and ruining something, but it also tends to hold onto pet smells).
Location: honestly, you could go either way (pro/con) depending on what you want to do in the area. We drove to Williams to take a train to the Grand Canyon - took the gondolas at Snowbowl - visited downtown Flagstaff - went to the observatory- walked walnut Canyon- visited Sedona - visited Rock Slide Park - and nothing was more than 45 minutes from us.
For my family, the location worked. But if your only intention is to be in flagstaff, the drive might get old.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend and stay again!

Dan was very responsive and helpful. The cabin had everything you could possibly need. We had a great time sitting out on the gorgeous deck, playing games. The cabin was also very clean which is a major plus.

The deck is wonderful, but would have been more enjoyable with cushions on the iron furniture. Plenty of space for everyone, but lacked serving dishes. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

AMAZING GET AWAY!!!!
This was such an amazing trip for my family. The property manager was outstanding and informative. He was quick to respond and gave us lots of information. My family loved the property and my kids had a lot to do. My children range from15 to 5 and there was something for everyone. My husband and I were able to just sit back and enjoy our children. We can't wait to go back again and again. The area is beautiful and the lake is so much fun. Thank you Daniel for the rest. I needed it!!!

Fantastic!
Great place. Munds Park is a nice quiet community and it’s literally in the forest. Five of us stayed and had plenty of room. We spent a lot of time on the gorgeous deck. Dan, the property manager, was excellent to work with. We packed in our meals and never had to leave - kitchen was well appointed. Would definitely look to stay here again.

Good experience could of been excellent
Over all it was a good experience. Would of been better if responses from managing owner were a little faster and could only figure out how to work one TV in the leaving room but not the other TVs in the house have no channel service. And it’s been a couple of days and still waiting for my $150 deposit. Hoping the owner will reply to me soon to let me know when to expect the deposit back in my account. And the only other thing is it said 8 miles away from Sedona center and it was way more than that in distance.

An Arizona Awakening
Hidden Vista was our week long home away from home as we discovered Arizona for the first time. Munds Park is a very nice community - close enough to nearby activities - but definitely away from the crowds that accompany spring break vacationers. The weather wasn’t quite warm enough to enjoy the large deck. We missed out on those beautiful sunsets. Mr. Farley was quick to return calls and answer questions. We made lots of good memories!
